Zoya Luscious Collection

Some of you may have seen my posts on several different shades from the Zoya Luscious Collection used in a different way from how I typically feature on my Instagram. I took the liberty of using the different shades from this collection to make holiday ball ornaments! I did this in a group activity with my nieces a few years ago before I had my son. It was fun and challenging at the same time to attempt to create certain looks you desire and at the same time getting the unexpected. I did swatch these on nail wheels though just so I know and can share with you what they look like as is since the shades all come through as super shiny finish due to the holiday ball ornament material.

I have swatched all these in the order listed. Some shades appear more than once to account for the shade itself, striped with Zoya Soleil and Tasha or striped with Zoya Wanda and Patrice. All swatches shown by itself are 3 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Wanda, Patrice, Teresa, Andrea, Bentley and Sharon

Here’s the other half of the collection and again, some shades appear more than once to account for the shade itself, striped with Zoya Soleil and Tasha or striped with Zoya Wanda and Patrice. All swatches shown by itself are 3 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Lisa, Soleil, Tasha, Mel, Lou and Tommy

And here are some of what I’ve posted on my Instagram where you can see it’s beauty shine. It would look just as shiny on your nails with a good top coat! Feel free to click on each as there are multiple photos on each of my Instagram post to show different sides and angles of each ball ornament.

I know the holiday ornaments are heavy on the purples but this entire collection was a bit heavy on that and I wanted to use them all equally more or less. They surprisingly worked well for holiday ornaments though. I was worried about that. There are enough shimmery shades to add the holiday sparkle effect. It helped that there is a red and green shade in the collection. What are your favorite shades? Mine is surprisingly Wanda. I love the silver and gold glass flecks in this shade and I actually like this shade of pink. Not too loud but not light at all. I liked Sharon too but that’s no surprise as I tend to like fuchsia type shades. The biggest surprise is Tommy. I didn’t think I’d like this shade at all but it surprisingly went very well with different shades in the holiday ball ornaments I did and the application is the bext among all of the shades when I used it. It applied so smooth like spreading butter onto toast.

Zoya Party Girls Swatches

Hey guys! Today’s post is on the entire Winter 2017 collection of Zoya! I had most of this photographed over a week ago but I wasn’t happy with the lighting in some of the shots so I had to retake them. In most cases, I got what I wanted but there’s one stubborn shade that just wouldn’t show up correctly in the pictures. But enough about that! This collection has a lot of reds but I could still see how it suits the holiday season. It’s supposed to be “mysterious, moody and electric” but man…..I wish there’s a Christmas green in here! Here are swatches for the Zoya Party Girls Collection.

First up is Isadora.

Zoya Isadora

Isadora looks to be a purple shimmer duochrome in the bottle. It is described as “a rich, refined pearl in magenta plum”. Formula for this shade is really nice, although it has the kind of finish that shows brush strokes. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Next we have Ming.

Zoya Ming

The name suits the shade. It’s a red crème shade that applied beautifully. It is described as “a sexy midtone, scarlet red cream”. This might be my favorite red crème shade ever. Formula is nice. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Ming (in shade)

Then there’s Danielle.

Zoya Danielle

Danielle is a beautiful crème shade that my youngest niece would surely love. It is described as “a deep, dark periwinkle cream”. Formula for this shade is really nice, giving it a buttery smooth application. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Then we have Solstice.

Zoya Solstice

Solstice is the hardest shade to capture how it really looks in this collection. Just by looking at the bottle, it looks like an orange-red to me. In direct sunlight on my nails, the color is a dark salmon pink. But that does not come through at all in the photos — it looks red. It is described as “a sparkling persimmon orange metallic”. Formula for this shade is really nice, giving it a smooth application. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Next up is Kelsey.

Zoya Kelsey

Kelsey is the pink crème in this collection. I can see how it’s a good shade with some cute holiday party dresses. It makes me think of Barbie. It is described as “a muted, cerise pink cream”. Formula for this shade is slightly thicker than a lot of the other shades in this collection but it feels like it’s more sheer. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Kelsey (in shade)

Then we have Tawny.

Zoya Tawny

Wowowowowowowowow! Tawny is ,y favorite shade in this collection. It has a glass fleck like finish to me. It is described as “a deep, coppery rose sparkling metallic”. Formula for this shade is similar to most of the other shades in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Tawny (in shade)

Another one that’s slightly hard to capture in photos is Landon.

Zoya Landon

Landon is an eggplant purple crème shade. It is described as “a mysterious, deep aubergine cream”. I have a pair of suede boots that is a cross between this shade and Danielle but leaning towards Landon more. I love it. Formula is beautiful like the rest of the crème shades in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Then we have Blake.

Zoya Blake

Blake looks like a black or close to a black shimmer to me. It is described as “a deep, refined pearl in sapphire blue”. I can’t really see the blue unless under sunlight but rest assured it’s there. Formula for this shade is really, really nice. It applied beautifully. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Blake (in shade)

Zoya Blake (direct sunlight)

Next up is Sheri.

Zoya Sheri

Sheri is another red crème in this collection, just darker than Ming. It is described as “a must-have midtone, garnet red cream”. Formula for this shade is really nice, giving it a smooth application. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Sheri (direct sunlight)

Then here’s Delaney.

Zoya Delaney

Delaney is a beautiful and stunning shade that shines like jewels to me. It is more red on the nails than I originally thought. It is described as “a royal multichromatic (pewter, blue, purple, green), metallic flip”. Formula for this shade is consistent with most in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Delaney (in shade)

Next is Nadia.

Zoya Nadia

Nadia is the sheerest shade in this collection. It is described as “a buildable, sparkling, gingery gold metallic “disco” topper”. Formula for this shade is thinner than the rest in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Nadia (in shade)

Zoya Nadia (direct sunlight)

Zoya Nadia (close-up)

Last up is Fallon.

Zoya Fallon

Fallon is the pink shimmer in this collection. The shimmer in this shade is super fine. I generally like this kind of shades but this is a little brighter than the magenta shades I like. It is described as “a refined pearl, midtone, violet magenta”. Formula for this shade is a little on the brush stroke-y side but it all evened out with the second coat. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Fallon (in shade)

Zoya Fallon (direct sunlight)

Zoya Fallon (close-up)

Overall, there are some nice jewel tone shades here that is very fitting for the holidays and lots of shimmers. Some of the crème shades I feel are a little more out of place but I could see it being suitable for holiday parties and such. The only thing I wonder about this collection is that I feel like it’s missing the more traditional holiday colors like a Christmas green or a lighter blue or a silver (they did give us a gold topper shade in this collection). But the formula is pretty consistent throughout the entire collection and the colors are bright and cheery that there’s something for everyone I feel.

Zoya Leia

Hey guys! It’s Tuesday! I stayed at home with a massive headache from last night. I just couldn’t shake it! I thought I could sleep it away but the few times I woke up it was there and it was bad. My husband gave me stuff that would help but would knock me out (we decided to go that route once it was determined that there was no way I was going to try to make it to work today). Today’s blog post is on another shade from Zoya’s Spring 2016 Petals Collection. Here’s Zoya Leia.

Zoya Leia

The name of this shade makes me think of Star Wars. 🙂 Leia is a beautiful duochrome shimmer. It is described as “a sheer, opalescent white with flecks of fuchsia, green and gold”. Formula is good and it would look great on its own or over other shades, especially in the same collection. I see flashes of mostly purplish pink but I do see the green and gold peeking especially under direct sunlight. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

I love shades like this as they are very versatile!

Zoya Delight Swatches

I managed to get an entire collection in this past weekend and it just so happens to be from Zoya. I really like these shades a lot as they are very Spring-y and perfect for Easter. In random order, here are swatches for the Zoya Delight Collection.

First up is my favorite, Daisy.

Zoya Daisy

Daisy caught my eye immediately being that it’s a bright yellow shade. This is one of the few yellows I’ve seen done right with a shimmer finish. It is described as “a refreshing lemon merengue yellow metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash”. The shimmer looks like it’s a hint of green or silvery green. I find the formula for this really good and it dried pretty fast. Shown is 3 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Daisy (in shade)

Zoya Daisy (direct sunlight)

Zoya Daisy (close-up)

Next we have Lillian.

Zoya Lillian

Lillian is a pastel blue shade that’s a bit light for the Easter theme but works perfectly as a Spring shade. It is described as “a faded aquamarine with a glossy cream finish”. Formula is good and more opaque than I thought. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Lillian (in shade)

Zoya Lillian (direct sunlight)

Zoya Lillian (close-up)

Then we have Leslie.

Zoya Leslie

Leslie is a pretty purple or lilac shimmer that glows. It has a silvery green shimmer that ends up giving this shade a bit of a duochrome finish. This is described as “a soft spring lavender metallic with an energizing turquoise flash”. Formula is slightly creamier than the others in this collection. Shown is 2 generous coats with no top coat.

Zoya Leslie (in shade)

Zoya Leslie (direct sunlight)

Zoya Leslie (close-up)

Next up is Tiana.

Zoya Tiana

Tiana is the green version of Lillian in color and finish. It is described as “a pistachio gelato green in a glossy cream finish”. I find it to be more sheer than I thought it would be but the formula is self-leveling. Shown is 3 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Tiana (in shade)

Zoya Tiana (direct sunlight)

Up next is Rayne.

Zoya Rayne

Rayne is the blue version of Leslie. I am loving the shimmer in this shade. It’s like it has a hint of green in it. It is described as “a dewy, spring blue metallic with an energizing turquoise metallic flash”. Formula is beautiful as with most from this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Rayne (in shade)

Zoya Rayne (direct sunlight)

Zoya Rayne (close-up)

Last up is Eden.

Zoya Eden

Eden is a bright pink shade that lots of little girls would love in their Easter basket! I love how creamy and glossy this shade looks. It is described as “a classic spring flower pink in a glossy cream finish”. Formula is just like Leslie — really nice and creamy in application. Shown is 2 generous coats with no top coat.

Zoya Eden (in shade)

Zoya Eden (direct sunlight)

Zoya Eden (close-up)

I love all of the shades in this collection. I’m disappointed when companies tend to play it safe and redundant with their Spring collections. The only thing that is possibly redundant in this collection is that there are 2 blues. Maybe they could’ve swapped one for orange but Zoya has several good orange shades already.

Finger Paints Violaceous Vase

Hey guys! This week has been very busy and confusing for me. I hope it was better for y’all. My husband did take me for a quick stop at the mall so I can take advantage of the 2 for $24 3-wick candle sale at Bath & Body Works. Trust me, I am not thrilled that it went up from 2 for $20 to 2 for $22 and now 2 for $24. I only buy what I really want and just one of each for now. I made 3 separate transactions and used up all the $10 off $30 coupons I had on hand. I got myself 6 3-wick candles, 2 pocketbac holders, 5 pocketbacs, and 3 nail files. I paid it all with gift cards I redeemed with my Discover card. Enough about that though. It has been extremely cold here for me this past week so I haven’t been able to get product shots and swatches from a few things I have lined up to share with you guys. So for now, here’s Finger Paints Violaceous Vase.

Finger Paints Violaceous Vase

Violaceous Vase is a glitter shade that’s one of the 10 new shades in the brand’s core collection. This shade contains violet hex glitters in different sizes suspended in a slightly milky pink shimmer base. There is a slight duochrome property to it really. Formula was good. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

This shade should now be available in Sally Beauty Supply stores and online for $5.49.
