Finger Paints Peace, Love & Color Swatches
I have been so excited when swatching these shades. What I thought would be my favorites turned out to be just okay and a shade that I thought was just cute turned out to be my favorite of the bunch! Here are swatches for Finger Paints’ Summer 2011 offering, a 70’s themed collection aptly named Peace, Love & Summer. As usual, these are in the order of the press release pictures.
First up is Groovy Green.
This is a very nice green shimmer, leaning to a frost finish really. I don’t have anything in my stash quite like it. I’m on the fence if I like this green or not. Formula was a bit tricky for me on this one as it tend to show brush strokes. I got the hang of it the second time I tried. Drying time was pretty short. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Next up is Outta Sight Orange.
This is one of the shades that totally caught me by surprise! I thought it’s just a glittery orange. Wow, it’s a glass flecked orange shade! I loved it the moment I put it on my nails! Formula was a dream to work with. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.
The teal in this collection is called All You Need Is Color.
This is a teal glitter shade. Very pretty, but nothing out of the ordinary. I don’t have a teal glitter in my stash yet, so I gladly welcome this new shade. Formula was a bit tricky for me with this one. Being that it dries pretty fast, I resorted to using 2 thicker coats with no top coat.
The 70’s was all about peace, so the next shade didn’t surprise me being named Peaceful Purple.
Mmmm…..yummy purple glitter. This one’s quite a beauty. Tiny silver glitter in a purple jelly base. Can’t go wrong with that. Formula was easy to work with and drying time is quick, as with most glitter shades. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
The lone creme shade of the bunch is called Give Pink A Chance.
This one’s a pretty darker than the typical pink creme shade. This one applied smoothly on my nails, almost like the buttery formulas I’ve seen from OPI. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.
Last up is a shade called Psychedelic Sunshine.
A beautiful bright yellow glitter shade, this turned out to be my favorite in this collection. I didn’t know that this has holographic glitter! I thought this was just another yellow shade that’s cute and bright. Formula for this is nice and smooth. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.
Overall? I love it. Another great collection that suits summer perfectly. There’s a bit of everything for everyone in this set.
These will be available at Sally Beauty Supply stores in May for $4.99 each. Which shades are now on your shopping list? 🙂

Cute! I’m getting the orange and the teal. Is it just me or are the orange shades this year really so pretty!!?

YES! I am very pleased with the oranges I’ve seen so far!

I’ve been impressed with Finger Paint’s oranges in their last 2 collections. And the teal looked almost like it had a natural matte finish and I was wondering what it would look like with a matte TC. Thanks for the great swatches.

It does! I freaked out a second, but then remembered glitters from other brands having the same matte-ish finish.

You know I’m getting the purple. I might have to get the teal just so I can compare it to Butter London Henley Regatta; it looks very similar to me.

I don’t have that one or else I’d do a comparison for ya. 🙂 Let me know. I’m curious too!
