ISEHAN Kiss Me Mommy UV Aqua Milk

Hello all! Summer is just around the corner. I can feel it in the air and the heat is starting to kick up. It’s such a shame that the nice, cool Spring weather is literally only a blip in the calendar year here in Tornado Alley. With that said, I’m reviewing another Japanese sunscreen that I’ve been using here and there on me and my four-year-old. Today’s blog post is on the ISEHAN Kiss Me Mommy UV Aqua Milk.

ISEHAN Kiss Me Mommy UV Aqua Milk

What I love about this product? The packaging is quite cute as it is advertised as a line safe for babies and children. ISEHAN’s Kiss Me Mommy! line has a few more products that have caught my eye and their other lines have attractive packaging that is targeted for more grown up audiences. I don’t mind the smaller sized tube as I can easily slip this in a smaller sized bag or even in my back jean pocket. It is light and slightly viscous as you would expect from a sunscreen. It doesn’t have the scent we are all too familiar with announcing itself as a sunscreen though. I can barely detect a scent strong enough to leave an impression on me but just sniffing the open tip of the tube, I catch a whiff of maybe something that makes me think of something like a hint of glue or some neutral baby powder but more pleasant and it’s very light. It spreads really well and leaves a very slight feeling of something on my face that is more moisturizing than greasy and that dissipates over time. The description on one of the websites that carries this product states the following:

Kiss Me Mommy UV Aqua Milk sunscreen is a moisturizing sunscreen suitable for kids. Made with 80% natural ingredients including raspberry, aloe, and jojoba oil, the sunscreen is free from alcohol and fragrances, making it a gentle product that can be used on the most sensitive and delicate skins.

This sunscreen also features natural moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid and collagen to protect skin from dryness. Unlike most sunscreens which include two types of UV filters, this product contains three providing a total UV protection of SPF50+ and PA++++.

What I don’t like about this product? Probably accessibility and the price. I got it in my Yesstyle order last year and would gladly repurchase this as I use it on my son’s face almost everyday during the summer.

CANMAKE Mermaid Skin Gel UV

Today’s post is on a sunscreen that I’ve been using for a few months now. I surprisingly loved this more than I thought I would. I am so, so glad that I got this one among a few other ones to try out. Asian sunscreens are known to be more cosmetically elegant and this is from a Japanese brand. Here’s my take on the CANMAKE Mermaid Skin Gel UV.

CANMAKE Mermaid Skin Gel UV

What I love about this product? The packaging is cute and I actually don’t mind the smaller sized tube as I can easily slip this in even in my back jean pocket. It is light but not watery and doesn’t have the scent we are all too familiar with announcing itself as a sunscreen. It goes on really easily and leaves my face looking dewy and bright. The description online states the following:

Splash! Feel as fresh as a mermaid princess♥

Powerful, yet delectably moist
● SPF 50+ / PA++++
● Smooth gel without that roughness or stickiness characteristic of most sunscreens. Recommended for those who prefer a light, refreshing sunscreen.
Splash it on like a facial lotion – also serves as a make-up base
● Gel breaks down into a watery texture as you smooth it over your skin. After using face wash, this is all you need for complete skincare and UV protection.
*Can also be used after your usual facial lotion and other skincare products.
● Serves as a moisturizing make-up base with UV protection. Infuses your skin with moisture, helping your foundation to sit better and last longer.
● Use it on your body, as well as your face.
Skincare gel with 85% beautifying ingredients
● This pleasant watery gel contains 85% beautifying ingredients.
Easily portable tube format
● Sunscreen is most effective when reapplied frequently. Comes in an easily portable tube that makes it simple to adjust the amount you apply, so it’s perfect for reapplying sunscreen when you’re out and about.

It comes in 3 different shades and the one pictured here is the 01 Clear (“Colorless type ideal for any complexion”). I also got the 02 White (“White type to showcase your fairness”) but haven’t used it yet and the last one is 03 Cica Mint (Green-tinted formula corrects redness and dullness to enhance translucence). This is my favorite face sunscreen to date and I’ve tried more than a handful of Asian sunscreens.

What I don’t like about this product? If you had asked me when I first purchased this, I would’ve said that it only comes in these tiny tubes but I actually like that as I find it convenient. So maybe just the fact that it isn’t as accessible as I’d like and that I do wish it was cheaper.

ETUDE Sunprise Mild Watery Light SPF50+/PA+++

Aside from sheet masks, one of the beauty products I looked up heavily on in K-beauty are sunscreens — face sunscreens to be specific. I’m pretty picky about them in the sense that I do NOT like the scent and feel of regular sunscreen on my skin anywhere. Today’s blog post is on the ETUDE Sunprise Mild Watery Light SPF50+/PA+++.

ETUDE Sunprise Mild Watery Light SPF50+/PA+++

What I love about this product? It is light, leaning to slightly watery. So it goes on pretty fast, easy and nice. It is white and has a slight pleasant citrus scent. The description online states the following:

HYDRATING & MOISTURIZING: Moist sun gel with skin friendly liquid formula that lightly glide a thin layer onto skin with a clean finish
BYE UV RAYS & SKIN DRYNESS! HYDRATING UV DEFENSE SUNSCREEN: Great Sunscreen for those with sensitive skin! Will not cause breakouts and protects your skin from UV rays
WATERY TEXTURE LIGHT FINISH : Does not feel on skin and adapts to your skin tone. This sunblock does not change your skin color and you can barely feel it on your skin. Does not create a mask effect
MILD INGREDIENTS : Relieve stressed-out skin from UV rays. Berry & Plant extract soothes and hydrates the skin
RECOMMEND FOR: People who want to protect their skin with hydrating sunscreen and people in need of mild sunscreen, which stays comfortable

The scent isn’t strong and it pretty much dissipates quickly. I do get a whiff of it once in a while and since I like it — it doesn’t bother me at all. The most important thing to me is it is not greasy like most generic sunscreens are. I hate that feeling on my arms and legs and even more so on my face, so that’s a good thing. It has good enough SPF protection for what I’m looking for and it is pretty moisturizing. It feels a little heavy for me during the Summer but it’s good for Fall and Winter. My skin is normal to oily for reference.

What I don’t like about this product? If I have to be very picky, I’d like it to be a teeny bit less greasy than it is. It would be perfect if the consistency is like a face lotion, where it doesn’t have even a slight greasy afterfeel. There is a different version of this product that may or may not be more of what I’m looking for but I haven’t tried it yet. Also, while there are a few online retailers that carry this, it is still not as widely available as some other K-beauty brands. I actually ordered this one from Yesstyle and it took a while to arrive in the US.

CoTZ Face

Summer is right around the corner. I wish I paid more attention to this item I’m reviewing today. It actually worked really well for me! Today’s post is on a product I got from my ipsy May 2015 Glam Bag. Here’s my thoughts on CoTZ Face.

CoTZ FACE

What I love about this product? The formulation I got this in is Natural SPF 40. The scent is what is expected from a sunscreen product although not strong at all. I usually dislike the scent anywhere near my face when it’s strong but I didn’t notice this shortly after applying it onto my face after I have my moisturizer on. I applied a thin even layer over my entire face except for the eye area and lips. The formula is of good consistency, making product application really easy and nice. It’s light and airy — fluffy almost like some mousse dessert or something. It does dry fast and is matte in finish. I was a little worried as the color of the product was darker than my skintone but it blended onto my face really well. I originally thought this was a face cream and used it on top of a serum but it worked just fine. The matte formula is a huge bonus as my face, especially my forehead, is usually oily by the afternoon on a regular day. None of that with the use of this! 🙂 The best thing is it doesn’t feel heavy on my face at all! I hate how my face feels when using heavy face creams and most sunscreens.

What I don’t like about this product? Nothing at all! It is priced fairly I think for something that I really love using! I can’t wait to get more when I run out. I think this might be my go-to sunscreen for my face from now on!

Aveeno POSITIVELY RADIANT Daily Moisturizer

Happy Thursday! Today’s post is on something I’ve been trying out for 2 weeks now. Here’s my take on the Aveeno POSITIVELY RADIANT® Daily Moisturizer.

Aveeno POSITIVELY RADIANT® Daily Moisturizer

What I love about this product? I got this from my Walmart Fall 2015 Beauty Box. I’m so glad that I got the chance to try this before I decide to splurge on the full-sized item. I like that this doesn’t smell heavily of sunscreen at all and that the texture is more pleasant than I thought it would be. I was bracing myself for it being on the heavy side like other sunscreen face moisturizers or creams I’ve tried. This one is lightweight compared to those. There is no heaviness at all. It leaves my face feeling so soft and smooth. Product is white in color and aside from a hint of the scent of sunscreen scent is something familiar but can’t quite pinpoint.

What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really.
