LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

Hey guys! To those in the US, I hope y’all had a nice July 4th celebration. I know I sure did! I ended up taking the rest of the week off so it’s just a seamless 5 days of being off from work. It was good to spend 2 days with family. I’m also glad for the free time as I’ve started playing Pokemon Go from scratch and I’m now level 21! I started exactly last week….haha! I find the game interesting and useful enough to keep me walking since I dislike working out. I walk about 3.5 km during a work day! Anyway, I’ve been using this product featured today since late March and I feel like I have enough to provide a comprehensive review. Today’s post is on LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask.

LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask

What I love about this product? It smells so good! The scent is like a fruity gum to me. I really like it. The color of the product looks to be a light peach pink like the color of the container. Use of this product is straightforward: “Apply generously and leave on overnight. Gently wipe off remains next morning.” I don’t typically have anything that remains on my lips the next morning so I’m not sure what that meant. Maybe I’m not applying enough? I apply a thicker than thin layer on before I go to bed — a little bit more than a normal lip balm swipe basically. While I didn’t have issues like really dry or cracking lips, I do find that my lips are soft, supple and well moisturized when I use this. I am using this every night now. The price point isn’t that bad based on how much I use it. At $20 for 20g on their webpage, it might seem a lot when you’re trying to compare it to a lip balm but a little goes a long way and this is not like a lip balm….it’s an overnight treatment for your lips. Also, you can find it cheaper on various websites online. I’m very eager to know how this performs on my lips during winter, a time when I do encounter problems like dry or cracking lips.

What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really. I would gladly repurchase this again when I’m out. It’s been almost 4 months and I barely put a dent in that little tub.

The Organic Pharmacy Lip & Eye Cream

Hey y’all! Today’s post is on a product I got from my ipsy February 2016 Glam Bag. Here’s my thoughts on the The Organic Pharmacy Lip & Eye Cream.

The Organic Pharmacy Lip & Eye Cream

Verdict? No beuno both as a lip and eye cream for me. As a lip cream, I didn’t like the scent or feel of it on my lips. It feels like a slightly thick, waxy layer coating my lips. I think that’s the perfect word to describe what I feel on my lips with this — “coated on”. The feeling does subside eventually but it’s so undesirable to me that I didn’t want to use it on my lips after a few tries. The scent isn’t appealing to me as a lip cream either. As an eye cream, it fared slightly better but not by a lot. The formula is white in color and is quite tacky in consistency compared to other eye creams I’ve used in the past. I was apprehensive to apply this on my eye area, especially the under eye area. It does seem to help the area I applied to plump up more slightly after a week’s use so far, but here’s what works best for me — either applying it to the eye area with a lot of tapping motions to thin it out over that area or thinning the cream out with something else suitable for under eye application. The skin around the eyes is quite delicate and this would prevent the tugging I experienced the first time when using this in that area. Scent does not bother me as an eye cream. Taking all this into consideration and the price it goes for, I won’t be purchasing this after I run out unless there’s a good sale or deal going on.

ipsy February 2017 Glam Bag

What a month it’s been! Time sure flies by fast. It felt like the holidays were just here. I got this in earlier but I wasn’t too excited about it so I took my time in posting about it. Here’s my take on the ipsy February 2017 Glam Bag.

The bag is made of denim — not really my cup of tea but seems to be built pretty good even though it’s thin. First item that caught my eye is the NYX Butter Lipstick. The shade I got this in is called Ripe Berry. I LOVE this shade and have high hopes that it translates the same onto my lips. Next up is the True Botanicals Resurfacing Moisture Mask. I will be trying this out shortly so stay tuned for a blog post on my thoughts on it. The directions on how to use this seems pretty straightforward: “Massage on dry skin (yep, dry), leave on for two to five minutes, then just wipe off with a damp washcloth (no need to rinse). We like using it twice a week before bedtime.” Then we have Lord & Berry Eye Pencil. The shade I got this in is Black. This is a nice small-sized eye pencil that I can take with me even when I’m only carrying the bare minimum. I can’t wait to try this out! Next we have MARSK Mineral Eyeshadow. The shade I got this in is called You’re Toast. It looks to be a pretty gold shade. Last up is The Organic Pharmacy Lip & Eye Cream. This item made me think about it a lot. The skin around the eye and the lips are quite different so I’m having a hard time seeing how a product can effectively affect both areas BUT I’ll try it out and share my thoughts on it here later on.

Overall, eh….I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. I was expecting more out of the makeup bag itself as February is Valentine’s Day but I think they just didn’t go with the Valentine’s theme this time around. That’s cool….I can’t wait to see next month’s bag now! I actually see it on the website right now and it looks so cute and chic!

The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm

This winter weather is taking its toll not only to my skin but also on my lips. I’m not the only one experiencing this as my husband has been sifting around the house at random times for a lip balm. The good news is I have a ton of them that he can use — they’re just lying around everywhere. So, here’s my take on something I got from the ipsy May 2016 Glam Bag — The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm.

The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm

What I love about this product? It goes on like a clear gloss without it being very shiny or sticky at all. It’s a lip balm but not in the solid lip balm stick form. It moisturizes really well and I don’t find myself having to reapply it constantly. The formula is rich and it applies ever-so-smoothly onto my lips. There is a scent to it but it’s extremely light that it doesn’t even bother my husband and he’s very sensitive to scents.

What I don’t like about this product? It’s a little pricier than other lip balms you can get out there but the thing that got to me isn’t that. It’s the fact that it’s not as accessible as other brands! I wanted to get more of this but am not quite sure where to get them as it does list locations in the US on their website that carries them but most of them are in New York. There are some websites to some of these places but what are the chances that I will have to pay for shipping on top of that?

ipsy May 2016 Glam Bag

Hey guys! I got my ipsy bag in 2 days ago but didn’t get around to posting about it until today. I opened my package in a dimly lighted restaurant that I thought my makeup bag is actually blue but it’s purplish pink as shown. Here’s what I got in my ipsy May 2016 Glam Bag.

This month’s makeup bag is in the envelope style, which is different from what they usually offer. It’s interesting and while I don’t care for the print much I will say I do like the color. The first item that caught my eye is the Épicé Hydrating Mask. I LOVE face masks and this one has kaolin clay and bentonite listed so I’m very excited to try this one soon. Next item that caught my eye is the Smashbox Cosmetics X-Rated Mascara. The packaging looks so familiar that I’m pretty sure I already have this in my makeup drawer (and if so, I’ll be throwing this one in as an extra in a gift bag). Then we have The Organic Pharmacy Antioxidant Lip Balm. I already tried this and I like it! It’s a thick liquid in consistency just like the Neosporin Lip Health Daily Hydration Therapy. Next item in my bag is the Hikari Cosmetics Shimmer Bronzer. The shade I got is called Radiate. While this looks very pretty and I’m tempted to keep it….it’s going into the extra gifts pile for when I put together gift bags. I already own too many bronzers I don’t use. Last up is the Slmissglam Small Contour W07 Brush. I don’t need any more makeup brushes so this goes to the gifting pile as well.

I like the envelope style makeup bag and there’s enough for me to play around this month. I can’t wait for next month’s bag!
