I finally, FINALLY got my Walmart Spring 2016 Beauty Box a few days ago. I was wondering if I was even gonna get one since I’ve seen people get theirs a few weeks ago. I thought maybe there was something wrong with my billing or there was some glitch. But nope, here it is in all its full glory:
Everything came packed securely in the sturdy cardboard box.As usual, this box costs only $5. Can’t beat that really in my opinion. I’m pretty sure the contents of my box differed from those that I’ve seen who got them a week or 2 earlier. Maybe they ran out of some stuff but I like pretty much everything I got so I’m not complaining!
The item I’m most excited about to try is the Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser. I actually almost purchased it when I was at ULTA recently. Now I have a sample to try it out first to see if I like it. Hope y’all are having a great weekend so far and stay tuned for my take on some of the items from this box!
I recently got this in the mail and was going to take product shots on Sunday but was very busy with household chores. It was sunny and my husband actually got us a new game from Steam so he chipped in and took the product shots for me as I finished up the household chores. Bless his heart! He didn’t use the zoom function that I always do and actually even took product shots of the lotion foil packet sample as well as the fragrance vial sample. I would’ve skipped both of those but I can’t really complain with free help right? Here’s what I got with my Walmart Summer 2015 Beauty Box.
Everything came in the same sturdy cardboard box. There is one more item in this box than I’m used to, making this a pretty good deal for $5.
This is much better than the last box, Walmart Spring 2015 Beauty Box. The extra item contributed greatly to that and the samples are more applicable to me than the previous boxes. The coupons are nice too in this box.
This box came wayyy later than I expected. But I didn’t mind really since I have all the holiday stuff and sales going about. I actually almost forgot about it until I saw a charge in my credit card statement. Here’s what I got with my Walmart Winter 2014 Beauty Box.
Everything came in the same sturdy cardboard box as with the Fall one. None of the items really speak out to me, but it’s not bad for $5 really.
I feel that the Walmart Fall 2014 Beauty Box was definitely better in terms of value for the $5 I paid. I’ve already reviewed the Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream here since I got this one from the Target Spring 2014 Beauty Box earlier.
Overall, I’m not feeling this box really. I’ll wait for one more box to determine if I’ll continue on with this or canceling my subscription.
Today’s segment of Curtain Call covers a product that came in the Target 2014 Spring Beauty Box. I was very apprehensive about this being that I thought it was more of a gimmick with the play on BB creams for face.
At 7.5 fl oz / 221 ml, this retails for $11.99 or so wherever sold. I’d be curious to find out if this brand goes on sale regularly in any of the stores that carries it as that’s a pretty high price point for a body cream in my opinion. I received the 2 fl oz / 59 ml one. The back of the tube packaging reads the following:
“Directions for use: For best results, use daily as your body lotion. Massage this sheer formula over body, allowing time to dry prior to dressing.”
Verdict? I find this product to be gimmicky at first and I stand by my statement still. Maybe I need to try it out more, but I went through this entire tube and it felt nothing more than a nicely scented body cream. The product itself is light beige in color and it comes housed in a pretty looking gold tube packaging that is common for body creams. The packaging is pretty and sleek. Formula is common with most body creams I’ve tried — thicker than body lotions. The scent is pleasant to me but I couldn’t quite describe it, so I looked up online what others have said. I saw scent description of this range from what is common with suntan lotion or oils to Viva La Juicy. Serving its purpose as a body cream — I will say that it does deliver. It’s not the best when it comes to giving and retaining moisture, but it’s not bad (just okay I guess). Now about this business that in 5 days it evens, firms and corrects? That I will see visible benefits? No. I got none of that. And that tube definitely lasted me more than 5 days. It lasted me at least for a good 2 weeks. I was using it on a daily basis until it’s all gone. I even took a pair of scissors and performed body lotion/cream tube operation to get the last good bits out (I got enough for a little over one time use). The shade I got is ALL LIGHT SKIN TONES and it matches me pretty well. I did follow the instruction to give it some time to dry before getting dressed as I don’t want to get any of it on my clothing.
This product can easily be purchased at various retail and drugstores such as Walmart, Target, Walgreens and various online stores that carry beauty and personal care products.
Some of you guys saw that I got my Target Beauty Box about a week ago on my Instagram account here. I thought about skipping it this time around, but I’m glad I didn’t! There is a good number of things in here for me to try out. I had to call to get my shipping waived because it was supposed to come with free shipping in the first place (but this was not the case when I checked out online). This deal is available online only and is gone by now (you really gotta be quick with this as it goes fast), but definitely keep your eyes peeled cause it’s worth it! Here’s what I got with mine:
Everything came in a white reusable sturdy cardboard box. Everyone else I know that got this received the same exact things in it with the exception of the CoverGirl lip gloss. Some got it in a pink color.
When I was inspecting the contents of the box, my man exclaimed that it’s worth it for the L’Oréal Voluminous Butterfly mascara alone. Why he said that? I don’t know. Did he know that it’s true? It’s a 50-50 chance with that guess, but I think he did guess that the mascara alone costs more than $5 plus tax (and he’s right at that). There’s also a $3 off $15 on beauty purchases at Target coupon included in the box, which makes this deal even sweeter. I’ve never used a texturizing spray before, so I’m curious if I’ll like it or not. I’ve never used a dry shampoo before either. I just never got around to picking one up after doing some research, but this saves me the time and effort for it. The Jergens item….I know and have seen what a BB cream can do for the face in terms of makeup; I’m just not quite convinced it’s just as effective for the body. But sure, I’ll give it a shot anyway. I grew up with this brand and haven’t gotten anything from them since I came to the US (2000).
Stick around for some reviews (eventually) on some of these items. Were you able to get the box and if so, which is your favorite item?
