Hey guys! I got my goodies from ipsy for this month over the weekend and I’m loving the cute theme. The bag does seem to fit it somewhat too and it’s not flat this time around (a completely flat makeup bag doesn’t sit well with me…like last month’s — don’t get me wrong, they have made others that are flat but they’re not completely flat at all…more like envelope style). Here’s everything that I got from my ipsy August 2014 Glam Bag.
First, about the bag…..as I mentioned above it kind of fits the back-to-school theme. I love that it actually has enough space to hold a decent amount of makeup and maybe even use it as a pencil case instead. The bag did get a little squished up in the metallic pink envelope during shipping but fill it out and it’s good to go. The material makes it good to prevent from spills compared to a cloth makeup bag. Beads of water will just run off on it. The first item that caught my eye is the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. It caught my eye for 2 main reasons: 1) it didn’t fit in the makeup bag so it was the only product not enclosed in it and 2) it’s something I want to try but not willing to shell out the money since I have a million mascaras already laying around and about half are open. I hemmed and hawed on whether to open it or not to try it out and decided to wait as I go through a few more of the currently open tubes I have. First item I grabbed when I opened the makeup bag is the Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk. I’ve found the hair products I’ve been receiving from my monthly ipsy Glam Bags more appealing lately. I really don’t do much to my hair but I keep thinking I should one of these days, so I guess hair products pique my interest a lot. Next item I plucked out of the bag is the J.Cat Beauty Flying Solo Eye Shadow. The shade I got is called Half Naked and I’ll be passing this along as I’ve been an impulsive shopper lately and have gotten eye shadows in my last beauty purchase (HauteLook takes a while to ship so I’m still waiting). Next item is something I should be more excited about than I was since I have huge pores. I don’t wear makeup to cover pores at all. I usually just have moisturizer on and go. If I wear makeup at all, it’s makeup on top of my moisturized face. Foundation isn’t my thing at all and if I choose to wear any at all, it’s in powder form. But I do have large pores so I will definitely be trying this Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner. Stay tuned for a post on that soon. Last item I got is the Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Lip Conditioner. The scent and flavor is citrusy from what I gather. Reading reviews on this, it’s seems to be just as good as any other lip balm and I have about 10 of those currently laying around so I’ll be passing this on. Maybe to my father-in-law since he seems to love lip balms and loses them occasionally.
Overall, not bad still. I’m very glad that the makeup bag isn’t flat this time around (I still have that one, just trying to figure out what to use it for since it’s very flat). I can’t wait to see what next month’s bag brings!
Hey guys! I got my December 2013 Glam Bag from ipsy and I’m so excited! I actually liked this bag just as well as last month’s (shown here). First off, the bag that it comes with is super cute. Just when I didn’t think they can top off last month’s bag they managed to wow me with this sexy, black little number. Read on for my take on the ipsy December 2013 Glam Bag.
Again, I LOVE the bag! This is another bag that I’m keeping for sure since I can use it as a clutch and it’s so perfect for this Holiday season! I am relatively pleased with everything in this month’s bag, but the fragrance leaked out of the small vials. No worries though since there’s more than half in each vial left for me and my man to try it out and enjoy. The fragrances are from English Laundry, a brand I’ve never heard of, and it’s their Signature scent for him and for her. It is light and vanilla-ish on first impression. It’s pretty strong at first but it fades nicely into this pleasant scent. I think I have something similar to it at home. The POP Beauty Bright Up Your Life Eye Shadow Trio is something that I’d normally keep, but I have so many eye shadows already that I’m trying to use up. I’m keeping this as part of a giveaway prize for later. It does have 3 great colors to glam up your eyes for an everyday or a smoky eye look. I’m on the fence on whether I should keep or give the J.Cat Beauty Big Lip Pencil. I think I’m gonna drop this into my giveaway or gifting pile as well since I got the Caramel Mocha shade. I’m not a huge fan of browns really even though I’ve been told it suits me pretty well. I’m passing on the Be A Bombshell The One Stick in Girl Crush. Last month’s bag included the Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon that I went gaga over, but I read a decent amount of reviews on this item (in this shade) and it’s looking to be a pass for me. Girl Crush it a pale pink with shimmer and only the shimmer is going to come through I would think. I may be more inclined to keep it if I had gotten this in one of the 2 other darker shades. I have an item that does exactly what this one promises in a darker shade. I also think it doesn’t even come close to Josie Maran’s Argan Color Stick in terms of formula. I’m saving that Andrea Strip Lashes for a special occasion. I’ve only used fake lashes a few times in my life and most of those were for weddings where I’m part of the bridal party. This will come in handy for something next year possibly. It’s one of those things that I don’t think about getting and end up trying to get it last minute. It’s a great bag overall, but last month’s is still my favorite. Photos were taken when I was at work so the background is pretty drab unfortunately.
Overall, not bad and I can’t to see what ipsy has in store for us next month!
