ETUDE SoonJung Hydro Barrier Cream
Today’s blog post is on something I’ve been hearing a lot about in the AsianBeauty subreddit, so I snapped it up when the price is right on Amazon Prime Day. I’ve been on the look out for a face cream that is just moisturizing enough for my liking. Here’s what I think of the ETUDE SoonJung Hydro Barrier Cream.

ETUDE SoonJung Hydro Barrier Cream
What I love about this product? It is light for being a decent heavy-duty face cream. There is no real scent to this and a little goes a long way. The description online states the following:
92.2% OF MOISTURIZING AND MOISTURE-PRESERVING INGREDIENTS: A hydro soothing cream that moisturizes and comforts skin
INGREDIENT CALLOUTS (FRAGRANCE-FREE): Free of animal materials, mineral oil, pigment synthesis, synthetic perfume, polyacrylamide, imidazolidinyl urea, triethanolamine, PEG surfactants, paraben
SKIN BARRIER & SOOTHING CARE: We have investigated in finding the causes of sensitive skin such as dryness and weakening of the skin such as dryness and weakening of the skin barrier to bring out solutions to healthy skin care. It contains “Panthensoside”: Panthenol (Protection of skin barrier & maintenance of hydration) + Madecassoside (Soothing effect for irritated skin)
DERMATOLOGICALLY TESTED: The product has passes various skin tests to verify its hypo-allergenic formula. NON-COMEDOGENIC! Tested on skin to prove that the product does not cause breakouts or make the skin worse. HYPO-ALLERGENIC! Patch test completed to measure the scale of irritation on skin
NON-IRRITATING, LOW pH FORMULA (WEAKLY ACIDIC): SoonJung’s formula helps women and men’s skin to maintain the correct, low pH level. Chemicals with an alkaline pH are detrimental to skin’s protective barrier, making it more prone to dryness and other various external factors. Low pH products calm down and take care of your sensitive skin
The product itself is white but not opaque. It is not like a thick cream but more of a thick gel. It’s not sticky and I don’t find it to be oily. It took me a few days to get used to it as I found myself trying to use more product than I needed to. It kept my face well-hydrated through the cold winter nights.
What I don’t like about this product? As a random buy from Amazon’s Prime Day last year, I’m glad I got this for a really good price as it’s not cheap at full price. While I do like it, I don’t find it to be life-changing. I still prefer the face cream type of texture over this, so I’ll only grab one as a backup if it goes on a good sale.

DEWYTREE Moisture Charging Collagen Cream
Even though Spring will be here very soon, I am still knee deep in with my winter skincare products. The weather a few days ago got quite cold and made me glad that I do have skincare products that suits such conditions. My skin is therefore protected and unaffected by the crazy swing in temperatures we may have during winters. Today’s blog post is on the DEWYTREE Moisture Charging Collagen Cream.

DEWYTREE Moisture Charging Collagen Cream
What I love about this product? This is another random find from TJMaxx that was on clearance for $6. I was actually on the look out for an essence or serum but found this for a steal instead. The text on the box states “Hydrolyzed collagen, peptides and nourishing ingredients promote skin elasticity and revitalize.” and “DIRECTIONS: After essence water or emulsion, simply apply to the face and pat gently for better absorption.” The scent isn’t too strong in my opinion but it is very much there. It smells like what a face cream should smell like to me. I know it’s not very descriptive enough to be helpful but I like it. The cream is flesh colored and on the thick side but very easy to apply onto the face. I do find that my skin absorbs this decently well. It keeps my face well moisturized overnight and/or all through the day. I use this everyday in my AM and PM skincare routine for about 4 months now and like it a lot.
What I don’t like about this product? I don’t have a regular source for this here within the US. Since I got this from TJMaxx, the stock there is very random. If I ever see this again there, I would gladly snap it up for a reasonable price.

COSRX Balancium B5 D-Panthenol Cream
It’s February! A brand new month, a brand new start. Giving sheet masks a break, I’ll be blogging on a few products that I’ve been trying and some that I have actually used up by now. Here’s what I think of the COSRX Balancium B5 D-Panthenol Cream.

COSRX Balancium B5 D-Panthenol Cream
What I love about this product? I randomly picked this up from TJMaxx as it was on clearance for $5. I figured this is a good product as an introduction to this new-to-me brand. Their website states “Clean moisturizer with intense effect of D-panthenol” and “What it is: Daily multi-functional cream to hydrate & strengthen the barrier of skin.” I do not detect a smell with this really aside from possibly an unscented scent if you know what I mean. Some products claim to be unscented but it actually has a scent that’s just quite light and very close to being unscented. My husband can spot those so to him this does have a scent. Why is my husband mentioned in this post? Cause while I did use it a few times, it ultimately ended up being a face moisturizer for my husband during the cold winter season. He dislikes scents more than I do but find this acceptable to use as it is quite the effective moisturizer for his dry winter skin. Whenever he feels like his face is dry or sees a patch of dry skin on face, he applies a little bit of this and goes on his merry way. As for my short-lived experience, I got this during the end of summer and it wasn’t the right face cream for me to use at the time. It was a bit too moisturizing for summer so this is best as a winter face cream for us. The cream itself isn’t very thick but it’s thicker than a face moisturizer. The consistency is kind of gel-like, which applies very easily on the face.
What I don’t like about this product? While my husband and I got to try this for just $5, a 1.69 fl oz / 50 ml squeeze tube retails for $26. While we like how it fared during the winter, I’m not sure if I’m willing to get this again at full-price.

The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream
The last day of the first month of 2023! Time sure flies by fast. This was a productive month for me. I managed to catch up on the regular household chores, got a bunch of pictures printed off Costco before they ended their photo printing services and started our son on playing with play money and understanding basic addition and subtraction. Today’s blog post is on a hand cream I’ve been reaching for recently. Here’s my take on the The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream.

The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream
What I love about this product? I’ve had this for a while and have been using it on an off as needed. What I like about their hand creams is that isn’t as greasy as other hand creams I’ve tried from other brands. There’s a tiny hint of grease that’s just enough to keep your hand moisturized during winter but doesn’t leave it feeling there’s any oiliness at all. I find it a little bit too much for summer where I am but it’s good for the rest of the year. I prefer this scent instead of their other rose scent, British Rose. It does smell like rose and is not too synthetic — a win in my book. It’s a little pricey to me at $7.50 for 30 ml / 1 fl oz but not bad if you feel like getting it as a treat for yourself or someone else.
What I don’t like about this product? While I initially liked how the packaging looks, I dislike it greatly. Sure, the metal tube looks sleek and cool in my hands but it can actually produce sharp folds and edges over time and in turn leak out product.

Sephora 2021 Birthday Gift LANEIGE Set
My experience with LANEIGE was only once in the past yet it left a lasting impression on me. You can read my old review on their Lip Sleeping Mask here. So it is my great pleasure that today’s post is on one of the choices this year for the Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday gift from LANEIGE.

What I love about this product? While I did like another gift available from Sephora, there was no way I was passing this set up. As recounted from my previous review on the Lip Sleeping Mask, it smells so good! The scent is called Berry. It’s easy to use and I love what it does to my lips, especially during winter. I have zero dry lip problems during winter ever since I started using this. In addition to the Lip Sleeping Mask (3 g) I get to try the Water Sleeping Mask (15 ml / 0.5 oz) and Water Bank Moisture Cream (20 ml / 0.6 oz). The thing is, I actually managed to snag a set that included the Lip Sleeping Mask and Water Bank Moisture Cream after the Holiday season when Sephora put Holiday sets on sale. I’ve been using the Lip Sleeping Mask and Water Bank Moisture Cream for almost 2 months now and am nothing short but pleased with everything. Use of the products are straightforward: (Lip Sleeping Mask) “Apply generously and leave on overnight. Gently wipe off remains next morning.” (Water Sleeping Mask) “Apply evenly across face. Leave treatment overnight and rinse off in the morning.” (Water Bank Moisture Cream) “Gently spread onto face before Water Sleeping Mask.” The funny thing is in the set I got on the after Holiday sale didn’t have a Water Sleeping Mask but has a Cream Skin Mist instead, so I’ve been using the Water Bank Moisture Cream as my evening face cream (applied right before I go to bed).
What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really. I would gladly repurchase this again when I’m out. It’s been almost 4 months and I barely put a dent in that little tub.
