Halloween is right around the corner! I have the decorations up already for over a week and I’m getting a few more just in time for the day of. I hope we get more kids this year as last year it was on a Monday. Most have done their trick or treating over the weekend at some neighborhoods that designate the Friday or Saturday for it or even go to places like the mall for it. We got about 10 – 20 kids. That’s nothing compared to 2 years ago when Halloween fell on a Saturday. We had at least 300 kids come by in our cul-de-sac! Anyway, today’s post is another edition of Curtain Call. I got this product from my ipsy July 2017 Glam Bag. Here’s my take on the 111SKIN Space Defence Bright Eye Gel.
Stated from their website:
- The skin around the eyes is the most sensitive area of the face. This soothing Eye Gel reduces the appearance of dark circles, minimises puffiness and softens the appearance of fine lines while keeping the eye area hydrated.
What I love about this product? Directions to use are pretty straightforward — apply to eye area day and night with a light hand. The packaging is pretty attractive I must say. I am loving the cool and sleek color (is it magenta-sh?) against the silver. The eye gel is translucent in appearance and the consistency is what you would expect from an eye gel. There is a scent to this product…it’s like a baby powder kind of scent is how I can best describe it. It’s not really strong and definitely not noticeable after application. I experienced a warming sensation with every use but it’s not bothersome to me. I kinda take it as “THIS PRODUCT IS WORKING!” Haha! I started using it at the same time I started using the Dr. Lili Fan Probiotic Recovery Cream. This tiny thing lasted about a week and a half longer than that. This is an eye gel and you use less of it obviously but I got a decent amount of use from this tiny bottle.
What I don’t like about this product? Probably the accessibility. This is not readily available in retail stores like Sephora or ULTA.
More information on this item and other products the brand carries is available on their website here.
Hey guys! I’m so excited about this month’s bag! I get this excited when the bag itself is something I’m in love with. Here’s my take on the ipsy July 2017 Glam Bag.
Eeeeeeeeeeeee! It’s so freaking cute!!! I’ve always liked Sanrio stuff and some characters more than others. I would be lying if I said I didn’t know who this little guy is. I’ve seen him become quite popular in the last year or so. Now onto the products! First up is 111SKIN Space Defence Bright Eye Gel. Quite a unique product name and I’m curious to see how it performs. Stay tuned in a few months to see what my thoughts are on this. Next up is Trifle Cosmetics Raspberry Ripple Ombré Radiance Blush Palette. The shades look promising and I’m actually tempted to use this but I think I will pass this on to one of my nieces. The theme and packaging are really cute and nice. Then we have the Ciaté Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid Liner. The shade I got this in is black. This seems to be in the formula that I like most for eyeliners where it’s a pencil but with some moisture to it that you can make sharp lines. Next we have the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea™ Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. This is good to use for waterproof makeup so I’m quite eager to put it to the test. Last up is Beau Gâchis Illuminator Brush. I made sure I did the review on ipsy for this month as I mentioned before when I retook the quiz that I don’t want any more makeup brushes. The only ones I use (if at all) are big fluffly ones like my IT Cosmetic ones.
Bag aside, I do like most of what I got this month. I already gave myself the expectation that next month’s bag will be nothing compared to this one due to my excitement over Gudetama! Haha!
Hey guys! I’ve been trying this item for about a month now. I got this from my ipsy January 2016 Glam Bag. Here’s my take on the pur~lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum.
What I love about this product? This is the very first eye serum I think I’ve received from ipsy. Being that I have been using the Reviva Labs Eye Gelee Concentrate for a while now, I thought I’d switch it up with this. The product is gel like in texture and translucent in color. It kinds reminds me of how Neosporin looks like. There is no detectable smell to me at all and it comes in a small squeeze tube with a pointed funneled tip. I find that I like this type of product packaging for products I apply to the under eye area as it gives me more control on how much product comes out of the tube. A little goes a long way with this. It goes on smoothly and skin in that area absorbed it pretty well (and quickly too at that).
What I don’t like about this product? There is a shimmer that I noticed in using this. I guess it helps brighten up the under eye area a bit but while I may not mind it really (it’s not that much) I could see it bothering others that prefer not to have any shimmer at all on any part of their face (which is understandable). The other thing is I don’t really see any difference in using this product so if there are any positive effects with this it’s just too small for me to notice. I have been using this for a month or so now and I typically see results from skincare items earlier than this. But like I said, there’s either no added value to this than what I’ve already been using or just minimal difference that it simply working as an under eye serum is enough to expect from this product.
Hey guys! I’ll try to keep this short as I’m looking at a super busy weekend. Here’s what I got in my ipsy January 2016 Glam Bag.
I think the bag is very cute! The print makes me think of all things retro and Austin Powers. First item that caught my eye is the Mitchell and Peach English Leaf Body Cream. I have received a hand cream of the same brand in a previous glam bag and remembered liking it. I’ll keep this to try out as soon as my current body lotion runs out. Next up is Beau Gâchis Paris Smudge Brush. I don’t wear makeup a lot and already have a lot of makeup brushes so I’ll keep this in my stocking stuffer stash. Then we have theBalm Mr. Write (Now). This eye liner has a catchy name and a built-in sharpener. The shade I got is in Jack B. Bronze, which is a rich bronze. I can’t wait to try this out as I’m curious to how their eye liners are. Next is the pur~lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum. I’m about to switch my eye cream and this seems to be a good one to try out. Last item is the Hikari Cream Metallic Pigment Shadow. The shade I got is called Mink. Eye shadow is one kind of product I have too much of already so I’ll save this for someone else.
Overall, pretty good! I’m looking forward to next month’s bag already.
Hey y’all! Today’s blog post is on what I’ve been using for the past few weeks now. Here’s my take on the Reviva Labs Eye Gelee Concentrate.
This eye concentrate (or sometimes I call it a serum) comes in a small glass container with a pump to dispense the product. This is described on their website with the following: “Exceptionally light gelee nourishes the eye area with collagen, herbal extracts, elastin and mucopolysaccharides to combat puffiness. Special herbal extracts help reduce puffiness under eyes – while elastin, collagen & mucopolysaccharides fight dryness light lines. Daytime use is suggested.”
The back of the bottle states the following directions: “Pat in lightly under eyes, from outer eye area to nose.”
What I love about this product? It has no noticeable scent to it and a little goes a long way. The formula of this eye concentrate is light as it is a transparent gel. The 1 oz / 28 g container will last me for at good while as it’s been a few days shy of a month of me using this and I have more than 3/4 of the product left in the bottle. It is very easy to apply and I use it on my under eye and around the outer corner of my eye area nightly as suggested. It gives a slight cooling feeling and absorbs very quickly into the skin. I do think it helps reduce puffiness partially because of the cooling feeling I get from the gel formula. I’ve used it during the day as well but just randomly since the suggested use is for nighttime. I’ve learned to apply gently pressure to the pump bottle to avoid getting excess product. I accidentally got too much product the first 2 times and didn’t want to waste it so I just dabbed all of it on. After a few hours my husband was trying to get something off my face and I looked at the mirror to see a wisp of white strip like a thread of some sort is the best I can describe it. Basically when there’s too much product applied in one area, it will peel off so to speak and it actually looks like peeling skin from when one gets a sunburn. That only happened to me on those 2 days when I applied too much of the product on and I figured out then what it was. One side of the bottle states clearly “No Animal Testing”.
What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really. As with all eye products, definitely avoid getting this in your eye. I accidentally did one time and my left eye started watering because of a slight stinging sensation. It goes away after I washed it out though. I still think I prefer the previous 2 eye products I’ve tried from them: Reviva Labs Under-Eye Dark Circle Serum and Reviva Labs Eye Complex Firming Cream.
This item retails for about $11 and is available on their website as well as on other retailers.
