I got this in yesterday and am very excited to share it with you guys. Here’s what I got with my ipsy September 2016 Glam Bag.
The bag is made out of a denim type of material I think. It’s actually very neat looking and has an edgy look for Fall. The first item up is the Onomie Powerful Priming Serum. The shade I got is called Truth. I ran out of the serum I was using a few months ago so I switched my facial skincare regimen a bit. Now I think it’s time to reintroduce it back! 🙂 Next up is the Eva NYC Forget Me Knot Dry Conditioner. This one strikes me both as interesting and gimmicky. I am familiar with dry shampoos but dry conditioner? Really? I’ll definitely be trying this out and reviewing this so keep your eyes peeled for it. Then we have the Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Tonic. This brand is on the higher end of what I usually go for and after using Korean skincare products I am more open to using items such as this tonic. I’ll put this to the test for the added moisture part since I don’t really use makeup and can’t test it to set makeup. Then we have BelláPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush. The shade I got is in Autumn Glow. I have too many blushes open already that I don’t even use so I’ll be throwing this in as an extra gift come holiday season. Lastly, we have Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme. This caught my eye immediately due to the pretty packaging. I don’t really have any use for this, but I’ve used lip plumpers before so you bet I’m trying this out and will be sharing with y’all my thoughts on it.
Overall, not bad. More keepers this time around it seems!
Hey guys! It’s that time of the month again thanks to ipsy! I got this month’s bag a few days ago and it didn’t wow me intially, but I did like it better than last month’s bag shown here. Here’s what I got in my ipsy February 2015 Glam Bag.
I like the color and print of the bag this month. The material isn’t close to giving any protection from water and the likes though like some of their past bags. But that’s okay. It suited the theme of Valentine’s for this month. The first item that caught my eye was the Eva NYC Up All Night Volumizing Spray. I’ve been trying to refocus on taking better care of my hair for almost 2 months now. I had my husband chop a good amount off to get rid of the dead ends and unhealthy bits. In my current rotation to use after I wash my hair are Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner and Rejuveniqe Oil Intensive. I can’t wait to try this out since I’ve had a good experience with this brand so far in the past (see Curtain Call: Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask). Next item that caught my eye is the CARGO Cosmetics Mini Lip Gloss. The shade I got is called Anguilla. I’ve seen a lot of beauty bloggers talk about Cargo Cosmetics, but it’s not a brand that I’ve went out of my way to search for and stuff. I did get a deluxe sample of their blush from an ULTA bag freebie last year but I haven’t gotten around to try it. It looks to be a pretty pink color. I think I’ll keep it sealed to add to someone’s goody bag as an extra in a gift or for a giveaway. I have too many lip glosses open as it is right now. The most intriguing item to me is the “Pencil Me In” Cosmetics Natural Eye Liner Pencil. It’s because this product comes with a built in sharpener on the cap. It looked differently than usual eye pencils, so it stuck out like a sore thumb to me. I have too many eye liner items out already, so this will go into the same pile as the lip gloss. Next item up is ModelCo BLUSH Cheek Powder. The shade I got is in Peach Bellini. It looks to be a very wearable pretty coral shade. I’ll hold off on opening it for a while though. I have to check my stash to make sure I don’t already have something very similar to it. The lighting of the picture below is just horrible, so you can’t see the real color of the blush. The group shot above is more color accurate for that. Last item is the one that didn’t quite fit into the bag. It’s the Luxie Beauty Large Angled Face Brush 504. I’ve never heard of this brand and if I didn’t have the makeup brushes I do right now — I’d actually use it. The handle is light pink in color and the brush bristles is very light and fluffy.
This month is not bad really. I’m excited now about next month’s bag! 🙂
Hey guys! I haven’t done a Curtain Call post in a while. I’ve been struggling to finish some items I have open in the shower and my bathroom counter. I’m sure some of you can relate to that. This post is on a product I got from my ipsy May 2014 Glam Bag. Here’s Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask.
At 60 ml / 2.03 fl oz, this retails for $12 at their online store and is similarly priced at various retail and drugstores where it is sold. The entire tube lasted me for almost 3 months. Keep in mind that I have long hair that goes down my back. The back of the tube reads the following:
“The Therapy Session Hair Mask deeply conditions, repairs and strengthens dry and damaged hair. Argan Oil nourishes and revitalizes, while Keravis Protein drastically increases hair’s strength and elasticity. The results are hydrated, soft and manageable hair.”
Verdict? I love it. I notice the difference more on first use, but it works pretty well until this morning as a deep conditioner I use about once a week. The directions listed on the back instructs you to us this either as a weekly treatment or an everyday conditioner. I use a generous amount enough to coat my hair from the tip to close to the roots but not touching it. I wait for 5 minutes usually and rinse thoroughly after. It kept my hair smooth and soft. The color is a creamy white and the texture is just like what I would expect from a conditioner. In fact, both color and texture reminds me that of John Frieda Luxurious Volume Full Splendor Conditioner with the texture part just a little bit more firm/less viscous compared to that. The scent is more on the warm side for me like what I would think of with sandalwood. My co-worker sister Renix thinks it’s pretty close to sandalwood. It’s a bit pricey, but if you end up really liking it I don’t see a problem dropping the dough for what you get. $12 isn’t too, too bad really for a once a week product that lasts for months. For me, I’ll pick more up if it goes on sale or clearance for a good price.
This product can easily be purchased at the online store here or at various retail and drugstores such as Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, Kohl’s, ULTA, and Walgreens. It is also available online at various websites that carry beauty and personal care products.
Happy Friday! I’m so glad it’s the weekend already! I got my ipsy May Glam Bag 2 or 3 days ago, but recent things such as work, dishes with long prep time and a new car purchase with my husband took up a lot of my time. I finally got the chance to take pictures yesterday while I was reheating my turkey lasagna (which my husband ended up liking a lot — YAY!). Here’s everything from my ipsy May 2014 Glam Bag.
I liked every single thing I got with this month’s Glam Bag. The only thing I think I’m passing on is the Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow Duo. I just have too many eye shadows right now, but I’m sure I’ll either include this in a future giveaway or add it to my ever-growing pile of small gifts I like to hand out to my husband’s nieces. Mine came intact but I have seen some mention that theirs came broken up during shipping. The one I got is Duo #1 (Celestial & Opal). These shades look perfect for maybe even using it as a highlighter in some instances. I have the Hang Ten Classic Sport SPF50 on my bathroom counter right now, but opted not to use it just yet. I’ll put it to the test this weekend since I’ll be out in the sun for a decent amount of time. I’m glad to get this item as it’s perfect for summer. The item I loved getting the most in this month’s offering is the Revlon ColorBurst™ Matte Balm in Elusive. I own 2 shades before this one, Striking and Standout. I wanted to get Elusive, Shameless, Sultry, Unapologetic and Audacious at the very least. I was so glad that I got this in a shade I don’t own yet. Saves me a trip and purchase! The first thing I ended up trying is the derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub. Holy cow! My main tip for those that haven’t used it yet is to go gentle and slow at first to gauge how much pressure to use on your face with this. I personally loved this but can easily see that it might be too abrasive for those with sensitive skin. I started off not thinking much about it and realized that I need to go slow cause I was being too rough with it on my face. After I got the hang of the right pressure I’m comfortable with when massaging it on my face, it was heaven. I can almost say 100% that I will repurchase this item. Lastly, the Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask is an item that immediately ended up in my shower. I used it this morning and so far — pretty good! It will take more testing for me to give a thorough review later on in another blog post. I thought this month’s makeup bag is cool, but it definitely looked better on the ipsy site. I didn’t think it actually have that recycled look and feel to it, but I’m glad that I didn’t log on to ipsy to see it first as I wouldn’t have liked it as much I think.
Overall, one of the best to date! I’m kinda scared now that next month’s bag will be a disappointment since I’m not quite sure how this month’s bag can be topped. But we’ll see I guess!
