Hey guys! I’ve skipped posting on the last few ipsy Glam Bags because primarily I had a lot of things going on in my life but also there wasn’t too much that wowed me the past few months. In fact, if I had remembered in time I would’ve canceled my automatic yearly renewal. Oh well, I have another year of it and I hope that it will be fairly good since I canceled after so many years. Here’s what I got in my ipsy November 2018 Glam Bag.
I like the material of the bag this month. It’s a material that will repel drops of water when it comes in contact. I tend to like bags like that the most. First item that caught my eye is the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush. I love this brand and own a decent amount of products from them. The shade I got this in is called Quirky. Next item that caught my eye is the Skyn Iceland Brightening Eye Serum. I’m running low on what I use for the delicate eye area so I’m glad to have gotten this in my bag this month. Then we have the Peripera Ink Velvet Lip Tint. This is a K-beauty brand that is new-to-me but surprisingly relatively accessible since apparently CVS carries it?! The shade I got is called #9 Love Sniper Red. I was about to pass on this but I looked at some ipsy reviews and (at the time I read it) it’s overwhelmingly positive so I thought I’ll give it a go. Next is another item I’m eagerly looking forward to trying it out. Another K-beauty brand? Their roots are with K-beauty though it seems. The Botanic Farm Avocado Honey Rich Water Balm Cream looks like it would be great for the winter months and we’re definitely getting winter weather here right now. Last up is the Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara. I *might* actually keep this as I haven’t tried a new mascara lately and I am itching to.
This might be the first time I actually liked every single item I got including the makeup bag. Wow! I know this trend will probably not stay but a girl can hope, right? I’m very eager to try these out and post my reviews on them at a later point.
A little late again but better late than never! Ever since I started Pokemon Go from scratch last week, all my free time has been devoted to it. I finished with the Articuno raid with my co-worker friend Lohan and a bunch of his friends. I used all raid passes and I realized I have to get used to being in raids more (I forgot to use the golden razz!!!). Anyway, here’s what I got in my ipsy June 2018 Glam Bag.
The bag I got is nice (ignore the fly on one of the products — the picture above was the best products group shot). It’s a material that will repel drops of water when it comes in contact. Very good to have those on hand. First item that caught my eye is the FORMULA 10.0.6 Three Times Sublime. I love face masks and this one is described on ipsy as “a cleanser, exfoliant, and face mask (yup, all three) that treats blemishes, removes blackheads, unclogs pores, and controls oil.” Next item that caught my eye is the MAKE UP FOR EVER STEP1 Skin Equalizer Primer. I’ll try it out to see how it smoothes out my large pores. Then we have the Dr. Lili Fan Probiotic Eye Repair Cream. I’ve has great experience using the Dr. Lili Fan Probiotic Recovery Cream so I have high hopes for this. Next we have the Kaleido Cosmetics Skin Blush. ipsy subscribers got this in either Prom Queen or Primadonna, which is what I got. Last up is the Estate Cosmetics Lip Icing. The shade I got is called Goodie.
Not bad again! Next month’s bag should be out in transit to me shortly and I can’t wait cause I saw what the makeup bag looks like and it looks really nice. I hope the material is nice too.
I know this is late but I had taken the pictures already so we’ll go ahead with it anyway. Here’s what I got in my ipsy April 2018 Glam Bag.
I LOVE this bag! It’s quite beautiful really. I saved it to give it to my MIL. It makes me think of mothers for some reason (I think it might be the rose gold and the butterflies?). The first item that caught my eye is the H2O+ BEAUTY Oasis Hydrating Treatment. I’m very much into skincare right now so this is right up my alley. Next is the Purlisse Coconut Oil + Coffee Sugar Body Scrub. I love body scrubs so this went straight into my shower. Then we have the Smashbox Cosmetics Always On Liquid Lipstick. I’m still debating if I want to keep this or not. The shade is called Miss Conduct and I’m not sure if it suits me or not (plus, I have a ton of lip products already). Next we have the Manna Kadar Eye Candy Priming Shadow Stick. The shade I got is called S’more. Last up is a Steve Laurant Blush. TI’ve never heard of this brand before but it seems like it would be a really nice blush. The shade I got this in is called Rosé All Day. The other shade some others got is called I’m Blushing.
Overall, I’m very pleased with what I got — especially the bag! I hope next month’s bag continues this trend!
February was such a busy month for me. I co-hosted a baby shower a few weeks ago and February was the month where we did everything that is needed for it. Venue search was a little frantic in the beginning but it all worked out. Invitations were sent out with 3 weeks to RSVP and I was busy DIY-ing stuff for it in all of my free time last month. All in all, everything went smoothly on the day of and I now have more time for the blog. 🙂 Since I missed blogging last month, here’s what I got in my ipsy February 2018 Glam Bag.
The bag is okay. I can see the romantic aspect of it but I thought it would scream more Valentine’s to me than this. But moving on, first item that caught my eye is the BLAQ Meteor Shower. I’m currently saving it for a day or night out or something — it’s sitting in my shower. I read a few reviews on it and like what I’m hearing so far. Next item that caught my eye is the Sand&Sky Brilliant Skin Purifying Pink Clay Mask. The bright-colored tube caught my eye and I noticed a trend here….BLAQ is an Australian brand and so is Sand&Sky! Then we have the MARSK Mineral Eyeshadow. The shade I got this in is called Foiled Again. I don’t use this kind of beauty product much so it will be a good stocking stuffer for someone. Next we have the Luxie Beauty Blending and Shading Eye Brush. I think I retook the quiz after I got this in my bag again. One of the things I don’t need more of is makeup brushes. Last up is Seraphine Botanicals Lychee + Gold – Healthy Glow Rose-Gold Blush. The packaging of this product is simply elegant and stunning! I’m in love with the packaging for sure.
With the weather warming up, I can see myself using up half of these items I got in this month’s bag.
Halloween came by and went as well as Thanksgiving. I’ve been quite busy the past few weeks that posting on here just hasn’t been on top of my list. But the holiday season is now here and the pile of things for me to review are stacking up. Since I got most of my Christmas shopping done already, I can focus on other stuff (like this blog) more. Here’s what I got in my ipsy November 2017 Glam Bag.
I’m not sure if I like or dislike the bag. What I know is it made me think of one of my closest friends immediately so I might just give this to her. First item that caught my eye is the Kensie Perfume. The size I got is the purse sprayer mini deluxe. Since I’m not a fan of trying new scents (most gives me a headache), I will be passing this on to another close friend of mine that simply lovvvves perfumes. Next item that caught my eye is the Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank Bitten & Bronzed Matte Bronzer. The packaging is just so eye-catching, as what I have come to expected with anything Lisa Frank. Since I’m not adding more bronzers to what I already have for the moment, I will be passing this on as a stocking stuffer extra for one of my nieces. Then we have the em Infinite Lip Cloud. I liked their mascara a lot so I’m sure the quality of this product is pretty good. The shade I got this in is called Rose Nude. Next we have the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush. The shade I got this in is called Feisty. This is a nice shade but I’m not sure if I’m going to keep it or give it away. I do like their stuff a lot. Last up is Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara.
Overall, it’s okay but this is making me look forward to what December has to offer more. Since it’s for Christmas, I’m hoping it will have something that wows me. 🙂
Hey guys! I’m so excited about this month’s bag! I get this excited when the bag itself is something I’m in love with. Here’s my take on the ipsy July 2017 Glam Bag.
Eeeeeeeeeeeee! It’s so freaking cute!!! I’ve always liked Sanrio stuff and some characters more than others. I would be lying if I said I didn’t know who this little guy is. I’ve seen him become quite popular in the last year or so. Now onto the products! First up is 111SKIN Space Defence Bright Eye Gel. Quite a unique product name and I’m curious to see how it performs. Stay tuned in a few months to see what my thoughts are on this. Next up is Trifle Cosmetics Raspberry Ripple Ombré Radiance Blush Palette. The shades look promising and I’m actually tempted to use this but I think I will pass this on to one of my nieces. The theme and packaging are really cute and nice. Then we have the Ciaté Wonderwand Gel-Kohl Hybrid Liner. The shade I got this in is black. This seems to be in the formula that I like most for eyeliners where it’s a pencil but with some moisture to it that you can make sharp lines. Next we have the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea™ Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. This is good to use for waterproof makeup so I’m quite eager to put it to the test. Last up is Beau Gâchis Illuminator Brush. I made sure I did the review on ipsy for this month as I mentioned before when I retook the quiz that I don’t want any more makeup brushes. The only ones I use (if at all) are big fluffly ones like my IT Cosmetic ones.
Bag aside, I do like most of what I got this month. I already gave myself the expectation that next month’s bag will be nothing compared to this one due to my excitement over Gudetama! Haha!
Hey guys! It’s been a busy few weeks for me here. Just trying to enjoy summer but there’s always work, chores and a hell of a lot of other stuff. But again, better late than never (heck, I just got my ispy Julu G;am Bag yesterday!) so here’s my take on the ipsy June 2017 Glam Bag.
The bag is made of canvas material I think. It’s functional but not really my style but that’s quite alright as someone else will get good use out of it. First item that caught my eye is the Dr. Lili Fan Probiotic Recovery Cream. It’s really hard not to notice it with such bright color for product packaging. Next up is the NYX Whipped Lip & Cheek Soufflé. I’m not sure if I’ll try this out or not. I’m trying to minimize my makeup stash at the moment. The shade I got this in is Cocoa Bean. Then we have the Hey Honey Uncover Detoxifying Mud Mask. I like face masks, especially mud based ones so watch out for a review on it soon. Next we have the theBalm Balm Springs Blush. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — LOVE their packaging even the small ones like this. It’s so darn cute. I think I can rock this shade so it’s a keeper. Last up is Doucce Maxlash Volumizer Mascara. It’s going to my gifting pile as I have too many mascaras lined up to try already.
I wish the bag was different but can’t complain cause I’m so in love with July’s bag! 🙂
Hey y’all! I just got this in the mail 2 days ago and am about to start using some of what I got. Here’s my take on the ipsy March 2017 Glam Bag.
The bag looks quite cute — like a beehive pattern! And it’s bigger than past ipsy bags, which I like a lot. But the material is prone to snagging for me so we’ll see if I’m going to actually use it or not. First item that caught my eye is the theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer. I LOVE the cute packaging they always have! This is a keeper for me. Next up is the So Susan Blush & Glow. I will look up for reviews and swatches on this before I open it. The shade I got this in is called Rose Rust. Then we have Marc Anthony True Professional Deep Repair Aloe Vera & Jasmine Oil Deep Repairing Conditioning Treatment. I generally haven’t found anything from this brand that I dislike so I’ll be trying this out shortly and post my review on it. Next we have the JeNu High Tech Beauty Marine Collagen Mineral Gel. This is the type of product I’m looking for these days. I already started using it today. I put it on before I apply moisturizer. Last up is The Skone Cosmetics Luxe Pro Blending Brush. I retook the quiz again on ipsy as I thought I’ve said before that I didn’t want more makeup brushes yet I keep getting them still. This one goes into my extra random gifting pile.
Overall, much better than last month!
I got this in a few days ago. I’m keeping almost everything I got in this bag. A lot of times I would keep only one or 2 items and have the others as stocking stuffers or extras in a gift, but this time I’m keeping and using 4 of them! Here’s what I got with my ipsy October 2016 Glam Bag.
The bag is quite cute and the material strikes me as being waterproof or water-repellent at least. First up is the Elizabeth Grant Green Power C Hydrating Cleanser. The green colored tube stuck out like a sore thumb to me in the group. I’m dying to try out a new cleanser as I’ve been using the same one for about 2 months now and I don’t think I really like it. Next item that caught my eye is the MeMeMe Blush Brush. It has a nice handle and is fluffy but this is the one item I definitely won’t be using so off to the gifting pile it goes. Then we have the noyah Lipstick. The shade I got is in Smoke. I would’ve preferred the other shade available, Currant News, as that one is more “red” than Smoke (which is more “nude”). But I’m still keeping it as my hubby generally likes these kind of shades on me. Next we have Ciate Fierce Flicks Eyeliner. I’m keeping this as I don’t have that many eye liners with the felt tip. Last up is theBalm Cabana BoyBlush. I love, LOVE, L-O-V-E this shade! Definitely my favorite item from this month’s bag!
I can’t wait now for next month’s bag!
I got this in yesterday and am very excited to share it with you guys. Here’s what I got with my ipsy September 2016 Glam Bag.
The bag is made out of a denim type of material I think. It’s actually very neat looking and has an edgy look for Fall. The first item up is the Onomie Powerful Priming Serum. The shade I got is called Truth. I ran out of the serum I was using a few months ago so I switched my facial skincare regimen a bit. Now I think it’s time to reintroduce it back! 🙂 Next up is the Eva NYC Forget Me Knot Dry Conditioner. This one strikes me both as interesting and gimmicky. I am familiar with dry shampoos but dry conditioner? Really? I’ll definitely be trying this out and reviewing this so keep your eyes peeled for it. Then we have the Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Tonic. This brand is on the higher end of what I usually go for and after using Korean skincare products I am more open to using items such as this tonic. I’ll put this to the test for the added moisture part since I don’t really use makeup and can’t test it to set makeup. Then we have BelláPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush. The shade I got is in Autumn Glow. I have too many blushes open already that I don’t even use so I’ll be throwing this in as an extra gift come holiday season. Lastly, we have Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme. This caught my eye immediately due to the pretty packaging. I don’t really have any use for this, but I’ve used lip plumpers before so you bet I’m trying this out and will be sharing with y’all my thoughts on it.
Overall, not bad. More keepers this time around it seems!
Hey guys! I got my ipsy bag a few days ago but didn’t get around to posting about it until today. I’ve been very busy with work and with snail mailing these days that I had to put some things off. Here’s what I got in my ipsy June 2016 Glam Bag.
This month’s makeup bag is actually in a print that I don’t really care for but I’m drawn to it a lot. And when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. Like….I actually LOVE this print. Go figure. It’s bright, bold and cute that I surprisingly fell in love with it. The first item that caught my eye is the ColourPop Cosmetics Crème Gel Liner. The shade I got this in is called Swerve. It looks to be a black shade. I’m toying with the idea of keeping it but we’ll see. I don’t use makeup that much to begin with and I use it even less now than compared to a year ago. Next item that caught my eye is the Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Cheeks Blush. While I like these sample size makeup items, I already own too many blushes for my own good so I’m looking to passing this onto someone else that will put it to good use. The nice tube packaging item turned out to be Hey Honey 24Seven: Day & Night Moisturizing Cream. I’m excited about this one as I’m constantly trying to find something better than what I’m currently using for a facial cream/moisturizer. Next up is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow. The shade I got is called Lounge. Lounge is one of the prettiest duochrome eye shadow shades I’ve ever owned. I think this one’s a keeper even when I don’t wear eyeshadow at all. I’ll use it randomly when I feel like it. Last up is the frank body Original Coffee Scrub. I find this product interesting and can’t wait to try it out. I just have concerns with clogging up the shower plumbing. I’ll definitely blog about this one later on.
I love this month’s bag that I can’t wait to see the design for next month! They’ve been churning out good ones lately.
Hey guys! It’s another beautiful day today here in Oklahoma! This arrived in my mailbox a few days ago but I was so caught up with my latest Etsy order (which I’ll blog about soon!) that I didn’t get around to taking pictures until today. Here’s what I got in my ipsy March 2016 Glam Bag.
I knew that the bags this month was going to come in 3 different color schemes. I was hoping for the blue one but I ended up loving the mint green one that I got. It is so, so cute! I am in love with it more than I thought I would be! And for those that remember what happened to my bag from last month — ipsy saved the day and sent me a new one that did NOT have the damage. YAY to ipsy! Anyway, first item that caught my eye is the NUDESTIX Lip + Cheek Pencil. The shade I got this in is called Mystic. I have heard a lot about this brand fairly recently and am glad to have the chance to try it out! Next up is the Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco 3 Day Smooth Perfect Blow Dry Cream. I loved what I got from this brand a few months ago, which I reviewed here, that I can’t wait to try this out! Then we have the OFRA Cosmetics Eyeliner Pencil. The shade I got is called Green Go. I might gift this one as I have too many of this type of item out already that I barely even use. The unassuming packaging of NoTS 28 Remedy Balancing Toner made it almost go unnoticed for me. I’ve actually been a fan of Korean brand skincare for a while now that this is probably the most exciting item out of everything I got in my bag this month. It just didn’t catch my eye due to the very simple, plain packaging. Last up is the NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick. The shade I got this in is called Kitten Heels. It’s a very pretty matte red that applies on oh so softly! I am VERY impressed with this one so far.
Overall, a great bag! I can’t wait to get next month’s bag now!
Hey guys! It’s a beautiful day today here in sunny Oklahoma! Guess what arrived in my mailbox? It’s a little later than usual this month but it could be worse. Here’s what I got in my ipsy February 2016 Glam Bag.
I like the bag a lot but it already has some damage right by the zipper (the makeup brush is covering it in the above pic). Not sure if it’s the nature of the material or what but that’s a bummer. I emailed ipsyCare about it with a clear pic of the damage so we’ll see what they say. First item that caught my eye is the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye® Anti-Aging Concealer. I love this brand and I LOVE this product. I have used a slightly different version of concealer from them before (IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye® Waterproof Anti-Aging Concealer) but this should perform on the same level as that. Next up is Luxie Beauty Flat Definer Brush 221. I don’t use makeup brushes much and have a ton already so this will go in a gifting pile. Then we have Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion. I love microdermabrasions so I’ll be trying this out very soon. Next is the Promise Organic Ultra Moisturizing Argan Creme Facial Lotion. I just began a new facial skincare regimen so I’ll just save this up for when I travel. It’s the perfect size for it. Last item is the tre’StiQue Baby Blush Stick. The shade I got is called Bora Bora Coral. I already have too many blushes that I don’t use so I think I’ll just save this for part of a goody bag for someone later on.
Overall, the IT Cosmetics item made it worth it for me. I can’t stop raving about their concealers.
Hey guys! This month’s ipsy came when I was away on my honeymooniversary trip. I saw some people I follow post their ipsy for this month and they look good! I was hoping mine was just as good too. Here’s what I got in my ipsy April 2015 Glam Bag.
This month’s ipsy bag showed some promise but in the end, I’ll be passing most of the items on to someone else that can give it more love than I am willing to give. I just have too much makeup at this point for someone that doesn’t use makeup at all. Let’s start first with the bag. It’s a cute summery basket weave type of material. It’s pretty and I’m debating on keeping it. First item that caught my eye is the Hey Honey Good Morning – Honey Silk Facial Serum. The word honey in a beauty product just has a positive spin to me. I’m eager to try this out and am hoping the scent will be good. Next is the Mullein & Sparrow Mini Lip & Cheek Tint. I typically don’t like combo type of beauty products like this as I like different formulas for my cheeks and my lips. Products with the same type of formula for those will typically be okay for my cheeks but too dry for my lips or very heavy (even greasy) for my cheeks and perfect for my lips. This is a pass for me. The packaging is pretty though. Then we have JulieG Nail Color in the shade Damsel. I own too many nail polishes at this point for me to start with this brand. I’ve used this brand before and thought it was only okay. The color isn’t one I gravitate to immediately so I’ll be passing this on to someone else. The theBalm NUDE Dude Eyeshadow Single I got is in the shade Flirty. I recently reviewed the theBalm NUDE ‘tude® Nude Eyeshadow Palette and the formula is pretty good overall. I expect this to be almost the same. The packaging is quite creative and fun as well. Last item is the Gállány Cosmetics Lipstick. The shade I got is Petal. It’s a very “safe” kind of color in my opinion. The sleek packaging looks nice and sophisticated. Not sure if I’m keeping it as I have too many lip products already.
Overall, I was excited at first but then when I went through what each product is and if I can use it….meh. It’s only okay in the end. Better luck next month?
The Holiday season is long over but I’m only getting to some of the stuff I got during that time right now. There is just so many new things that beauty companies bring out for that time of the year. They are big sellers of course being that most of them are seasonal so they’re limited edition. Today’s post is on one of those kind of items. I mentioned it in my Holiday 2014 Shopping Ideas post earlier, here’s Tarte Away Oui Go Portable Palette & Collector’s Set.
I wasn’t actually going to get this until the after Holiday sales kicked in, but that would mean I chance it selling out. I didn’t get the ULTA exclusive set from Tarte for 2013 and kinda regret that. I didn’t want that to happen again so I picked this up when ULTA had one of their 20% off sale on everything. This retailed for $48 before tax, which is a pretty good value since the bulk of this set consists of their Amazonian clay eye shadows and blushes. As I mentioned before, I really like the feel of their Amazonian clay products on my skin. In my opinion, it’s very lightweight with decent lasting power. The portable case to hold the quadrant of eye shadows and blush selected is very cute! The pearls accent and the Tiffany blue kind of color for the case gives me the feel of luxury. I know that the shot with the eye shadow and blush names isn’t clear where the text is because of the shadow, but hopefully you can still make out what it says for the most part.
I don’t know if I’ll be picking any more Tarte stuff up after this just cause I don’t use makeup that much. I haven’t even used any of this at all. I definitely don’t regret picking this up though! 🙂
Hey guys! It’s that time of the month again thanks to ipsy! I got this month’s bag a few days ago and it didn’t wow me intially, but I did like it better than last month’s bag shown here. Here’s what I got in my ipsy February 2015 Glam Bag.
I like the color and print of the bag this month. The material isn’t close to giving any protection from water and the likes though like some of their past bags. But that’s okay. It suited the theme of Valentine’s for this month. The first item that caught my eye was the Eva NYC Up All Night Volumizing Spray. I’ve been trying to refocus on taking better care of my hair for almost 2 months now. I had my husband chop a good amount off to get rid of the dead ends and unhealthy bits. In my current rotation to use after I wash my hair are Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner and Rejuveniqe Oil Intensive. I can’t wait to try this out since I’ve had a good experience with this brand so far in the past (see Curtain Call: Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask). Next item that caught my eye is the CARGO Cosmetics Mini Lip Gloss. The shade I got is called Anguilla. I’ve seen a lot of beauty bloggers talk about Cargo Cosmetics, but it’s not a brand that I’ve went out of my way to search for and stuff. I did get a deluxe sample of their blush from an ULTA bag freebie last year but I haven’t gotten around to try it. It looks to be a pretty pink color. I think I’ll keep it sealed to add to someone’s goody bag as an extra in a gift or for a giveaway. I have too many lip glosses open as it is right now. The most intriguing item to me is the “Pencil Me In” Cosmetics Natural Eye Liner Pencil. It’s because this product comes with a built in sharpener on the cap. It looked differently than usual eye pencils, so it stuck out like a sore thumb to me. I have too many eye liner items out already, so this will go into the same pile as the lip gloss. Next item up is ModelCo BLUSH Cheek Powder. The shade I got is in Peach Bellini. It looks to be a very wearable pretty coral shade. I’ll hold off on opening it for a while though. I have to check my stash to make sure I don’t already have something very similar to it. The lighting of the picture below is just horrible, so you can’t see the real color of the blush. The group shot above is more color accurate for that. Last item is the one that didn’t quite fit into the bag. It’s the Luxie Beauty Large Angled Face Brush 504. I’ve never heard of this brand and if I didn’t have the makeup brushes I do right now — I’d actually use it. The handle is light pink in color and the brush bristles is very light and fluffy.
This month is not bad really. I’m excited now about next month’s bag! 🙂
How was your Christmas this year? What I appreciated more than anything is else is the time spent with family and friends. I was happy to help out with the baking and tons of wrapping. I love seeing the faces of surprise and awe when they open unexpected gifts! There were tons of food and laughs. But of course I took advantage of after Christmas sales the moment I could and ended up with some goodies I’ve been holding off getting for a better deal or price. I loaded up on Philosophy stuff from Macy’s site (since they’re at 50% off instead of just 40% on the brand’s site) and I got some Fall 3-wick candles for a great price at Bath and Body Works online (I didn’t really want to fight the crowds the day after Christmas). ULTA doesn’t seem to have their holiday sets marked down yet and Sephora has some, but nothing that moved me to make a purchase. Speaking of Sephora, I’m so glad I grabbed this palette when it was still available last month. I blogged about it in my Holiday 2014 Shopping Ideas post earlier. I was afraid this Tarte blush palette along with their other Sephora exclusive set would sell out before they do their after Christmas markdowns. I was right on the blush palette at least. Here’s Tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette.
I actually liked the packaging a lot and while I will not be using the hair pins it came with, I think it looks pretty as an accent to the palette case. This is no longer available on the Sephora website. Your best bet in scoring this beauty still would be if your local Sephora stores still have some available. For the price it sells for — it’s a steal. I managed to get this during Sephora’s F&F so taking an extra 20% off the retail price made it an even sweeter deal. I don’t own a lot of Tarte blushes and this makes a nice addition to my makeup collection. I really like the feel of their Amazonian clay products on my skin. In my opinion, it’s very lightweight with decent lasting power. From left to right, the blushes are: Breathless, Embraced, Whimsy, Bashful and Irreplaceable.
These blush shades are limited edition as well. If you can still find it at your local Sephora stores, I’d grab it especially if it’s even further reduced for after the holiday markdowns!
Hey guys! If you’re an IT Cosmetics fan then get ready to open your wallets tomorrow as this set will be on QVC Today’s Special Value starting tomorrow October 14, 2014 at midnight ET. It will run until 11:59 PM PT while supplies last. I’m not sure how much this will go for, but it’s their Today’s Special Value and these are usually great deals that go fast. It’s definitely worth checking it out in my opinion since I almost bought another backup set of their last TSV set on QVC It’s All About You!. Here’s the breakdown of what you’ll be getting in this IT Cosmetics Your Most Radiant You! 5pc Collection.
If you’ve been following this brand, you would’ve known that they recently nabbed 6 coveted QVC Customer Choice Beauty Award! Huge congrats to them for that achievement! And I personally can vouch for their concealer. It’s hands down the best I have ever tried. You can read my review on that here. The item I am most excited about in this set is actually their blush. It looks so pretty with the ombre and the shade name is Je Ne Sais Quoi. The name makes it twice as easy for me to remember because last time I was watching IT Cosmetics on QVC they had this lip product that I was really tempted to get that has the same name. I didn’t end up getting it but as soon as I saw this blush’s name it just burned into my mind. I have used other makeup brushes from IT Cosmetics and they’re good in my opinion. The bristles are soft and they stay that way even after my basic brush cleaning regimen. I tried another brand’s makeup brushes recently and was so disappointed at the state of the bristles after just one wash. The IT Cosmetics one fared so much better, so I’m definitely happy that this came with the set. I expect the foundation to be of the same caliber or better than their older formula per se. This one is the newer version of their foundation I believe. I’ve seen the mascara being sold in a set of 3 on QVC before but didn’t want to commit to getting that much in one shot. What if it doesn’t work for me? This is a newer and different version of their mascara. I can’t wait to try it to see what it’s all about and if getting them in a bundle of 3 isn’t crazy after all. One of their eye liners won an award too and this makes me quite eager to try this one out.
And in case you’re worried about how it’s packaged and all that, again, just like their other sets it’s pretty solid in that aspect. See below what it looks just from opening the box it came in:
The hard plastic hold the products in place (molded to the shape of the products) and have enough space or gap around so that the sides of the boxes aren’t touching the products at all. Well done once again!
Again, this will be available on QVC Today’s Special Value starting at October 14, 2014 at midnight ET. and it will run until 11:59 PM PT while supplies last.

I got their TSV on QVC kit last time, IT Cosmetics IT’s All About You 5pc Customer Favorites Collection, and I was seriously impressed by it. I’m being honest here when I tell you that I tuned in to watch IT Cosmetics on QVC and I almost bought another set. I’m not kidding at all. It would be interesting to see if I like this kit better. I’m hoping the products included are all great so at least it comes close to the set I got last time. That was pretty hard to beat (and a darn good deal too!).
If you’ve ever wanted to try some items from Laura Geller, now is a good time if you have a HauteLook account and even better if you have enough things you want from this brand or another (hello, Stila!) to reach $100 for free shipping. I caved and placed an order 2 days ago. While I do wish there were more sets (more value and a nice mix), there was enough for me to hit the checkout. Here’s a few items that ended up in my cart:
I mentioned I love Laura Geller sets and that was one of the few that appealed to me. I love her baked stuff a lot, especially the marble ones so this ended up in my cart as well:
I’ve been wanting this eyeshadow duo for about a month now. I love Rome/Milan that I got with my Beauty Brands order and looked up online to see what other shades they have and this one was calling my name:
The one that almost made it into my cart but didn’t (because I could only justify adding one eyeshadow duo to my order and chose the one above instead):
And here’s something I would’ve gotten if I didn’t end up getting some stuff already from this set:
My experience with her products has so far been really good. It actually surpassed another brand in terms of what I’m looking for (something that doesn’t make me feel like I have makeup on at all, but not that I’m not looking for full coverage or anything like that really). I didn’t want to chance what I like selling out by waiting for the Stila event (went live a few hours ago) but looks like I’m not missing much at all. This ends tomorrow at 8 AM Pacific so grab whatever you want before that!
I have never been a fan of nude palettes. I personally prefer jewel tone colors and shimmer in palettes. So imagine my surprise that I actually considered picking this beauty up when I saw it in CVS. I considered, but never did. I usually get all my makeup at CVS only if there’s a good deal going either with their ECB deals or with the red machine coupons combined with the weekly sales. When I finally got my hands on this it was a moment of “I can’t believe I didn’t get this sooner!” and just pure amazement. Note that this is definitely not a product for everyone. Read on to see why. Here’s my take on Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom All-in-1 Nude Palette.
The front of the box packaging it came in states the following:
Create the Perfect Nude Glow!
How-To-Guide + Mirror & Applicators Included”
The product packaging is extremely adorable. It’s so pretty and sexy as well with the lace details and ribbon. The color scheme they chose for the packaging goes really well with the colors found in the palette. This product comes in 2 shades, Natural Nude and Warm Nude. The one I have is Natural Nude. Each palette houses 16 different nude shades that are all shimmer in nature. Here’s the first indicator if this palette is for you or not. The shades are all shimmer regardless of which palette you choose. If you are NOT a fan of owning an all shimmer nude palette, it’s best to pass on this. The shimmer isn’t subtle at all even though it’s not a full on glitter bomb type of shimmer. The instructional guide is located in the back flap of the square cardboard packaging. I didn’t think much of it in the beginning, but it does actually contain very useful information for me at least. It gives suggestions on how to use the 12 shades in the palette. For the eyes: row 1 is suggested to use to highlight, row 2 as base on eyelid, row 3 used to contour and row 4 as eye liner. For nude contouring, the guide just breaks it down as row 2 for blush and rows 3 and 4 for bronzer. I didn’t follow the instructional guide to a T being that I did find it a bit ridiculous that such shimmery shades are used to highlight. I used it only as a highlight for the inner corner rims of my eyes and that works well. My personal opinion is this product is too shimmery for my use for that purpose. Still doable depending on where you’re trying to apply it to highlight. BUT with that said, I think this palette’s strong suit is that it’s wonderful as a nude eye shadow palette. I find the formula to be very pigmented and powdery. You will experience some fall out with this. This doesn’t bother me at all though for the product price point. If this was a high end brand, then yeah….I have a big problem with that. I did end up using the foam tip applicator it came with along with the mirror and gently packed the product onto the eyelids on the first try. It stayed on nicely for 5 hours with minimal wear. It definitely would’ve lasted longer (maybe through the entire day) with a primer. As a blush and bronzer, it’s on the shimmery side. If you’re not a fan of shimmery blush or bronzers, only get this if you are strictly using this as shimmery eye shadows then (or try working with this as a highlighter, which I have minimal success with). I did try the shades for blush and bronzer and it almost was too shimmery for my taste. I’m glad that I still find it usable or else this palette would be a no-go for me. As eye shadows alone they’re great but I didn’t want to be stuck with a palette of 12 shades that’s just for eye shadows, so this is still a win in my book. I didn’t use the brush that came with this since the bristles are a little bit on the rough side, but it will definitely work in a pinch if you decide to carry this palette around. Swatches shown below are one swipe of the product with the foam applicator from left to right and top to bottom of the palette.
I do intend on picking up the Warm Nude palette later on when CVS runs a good deal for this.
This retails for about $13.95 and should now be available at various mass retail and drugstores as well as online on their website.

So…..I was alerted recently through G’s blog post here about Sephora’s $15 and Under Summer Event happening now. I decided to check it out since they’re also have some neat samples that you can get with purchase. I didn’t see anything must-have from that category and proceed to look at their sale section before I end my browsing session. I found these 2 beauties still available and couldn’t pass them up, so they were promptly added to my shopping cart.
At $25 when I first saw these, I hemmed and hawed on whether to get it or not. Now that it’s at $15 — it’s too cute to pass up for that price. I added a few other filler items to get the total to above $50 for free shipping and selected the GLAMGLOW mask for my promo code slot with YOURMASK. I selected 3 free samples and it’s on its way to me now!
Hey guys! I don’t have complete reviews on these at all, but I had to post this since this will be on QVC Today’s Special Value starting at June 21, 2014 at midnight EST. It will run until 11:59 PM PT while supplies last. I’m not sure how much this will go for, but it’s their Today’s Special Value and these are usually great deals that go fast. It’s worth checking it out in my opinion. Here’s the breakdown of what you’ll be getting in this IT Cosmetics IT’s All About You! 5pc Customer Favorites Collection.
I personally have heard a lot about their concealer and will definitely put that to the test. I haven’t been to ULTA lately, so I haven’t really come into contact with this brand. This is a nice set though and the brush is soft. I immediately liked it, but only time will tell as I use it more if it holds up well or not. I don’t wear foundation because I never got used to the feeling of it on my face. I’ll try this out to see if it’s wearable for my taste as well as test its claim of a “full coverage, lightweight anti-aging foundation rich in skin-loving peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, silk and more, helps you attain a perfect, airbrushed complexion in 30 seconds!” The palette is simply gorgeous and very functional as it consists of a brightening finishing powder, a flush blush and a matte bronzer. These are said to be “anti-aging talc-free powders that include color correcting pigments that enhance and even out the appearance of your natural skin tone, while boosting the warmth and radiance of your skin”. Sounds like my kind of makeup since I don’t do the whole shebang like others do for a full face. I like to keep it simple and quick. The brow pencil might turn out to be a keeper for me. It has the pencil on one end and a spoolie brush on the other. I love that they did that. It’s perfect to just toss it in your purse and it comes with an insert with tips on how to line the brows for the optimal look for your face.
And in case you’re worried about how it’s packaged and all that, it’s pretty solid in that aspect I think. See for yourself what it looks just from opening the box it came in:
The hard plastic hold the products in place (molded to the shape of the products) and have enough space or gap around so that the sides of the boxes aren’t touching the products at all. Solid, indeed!

Hey guys! Today’s post is on something that I usually don’t blog about — blushes! But I’ve recently got the chance to try these brand new offerings from Milani for 2014 and color me impressed! Here’s Milani Baked Blush in Delizioso Pink and Bella Rosa.
These are described as:
- Buildable cheek color with luminous finish
- Multi-purpose; shapes, contours and highlights cheeks
- Easy to use and streak-free for a perfect radiant finish
- Mirror & brush applicator included
- Made in Italy
I wasn’t very apprehensive initially to try this product. The colors look bold and bright. I was afraid I’d end up looking like a clown. At the same time, I wasn’t sure if the product would deliver the same punch it promises just by its look. What if it actually shows up wayyyy lighter than what is expected? That has certainly happened in the past with some other makeup I’ve used. But I set all my fears aside and dived in. Boy, I’m sure glad I did! Pigmentation is simply exceptional. Very pigmented and formula goes on smoothly onto my skin. It’s not dry or kinda damp like some blushes can be. I’ve had horror experiences with blushes and eye shadows that apply patchy and/or streaky. Formula is soft and fine, which makes application a breeze. It’s almost perfect really. With that said, start application with a very light hand. It’s so easy to apply more than you want with something that has this much pigmentation. Wear time? It lasted all day for me. 8 hours at least. Gives a natural blush to the cheeks. Delizioso Pink worked better for my skin tone than Bella Rosa. It was very easy for me to go overboard with Bella Rosa, even with a light hand. But that also makes it why I love these baked blushes so much. They deliver what is promised. Finishes for both these shades are matte. There are 6 other shades available currently in Milani’s Baked Blush family. For the 2 shades I have on had, I used my fingers to apply streaks onto my arm to show pigmentation of one even swipe followed by 2 swipes for each shade. You can see in my 2 swipes for Delizioso Pink a bit of the texture of these blushes — like soft powder. You can also see what I mean by starting application of the product with a light hand with the 2 swipes of Bella Rosa — very pigmented and bold.
These retail for $6.49 each and should now be available in retail stores where Milani is sold. Otherwise, try nabbing it online on their website.
