So I actually almost forgot I have this beauty box subscription until an email asked if I wanted to switch it up for something special or stay with whatever setting I have already made in my account. I didn’t want to mess with it so I opted to just stay with my current setting. This popped in my mailbox about a week ago. Here’s what I got in my Walmart Spring 2017 Beauty Box.
Overall, pretty good stuff. In fact, as soon as I saw the lip product I knew that I had to give it to my sister from another mister Renuky. 🙂 It became part of her flip book goodies, which by the way is so much fun to make and hers is the first one I’ve given out so far. I made one for her birthday. 🙂 The shade seems light enough to suit her especially with it being a lip gloss. The first thing I’m trying out is the whitening toothpaste as we’ve been using regular whitening toothpaste and I’m not really seeing any difference so it’s time to change it up!
Stay tuned for reviews on most of these items!
Happy Monday! I’m bummed that the weekend was over even though I had 2 days of vacation to stretch it out. It was nice though to just catch up on things at home and spend time with family. Today’s post is on something I got from my Walmart Fall 2016 Beauty Box. Here’s my take on the Bioré Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips.
What I love about this product? I’ve been using pore strips on and off for a few years since I’ve been in the US. It was a pricey thing for me back in the Philippines and we have some cleansers that really cleans the pores out (hello, original Eskinol face wash!) that I didn’t really need it. But facial cleansers here are milder and doesn’t dry out the skin as much so I keep some pore strips stocked always. Some people are against using it adamantly and if you are one of them, that’s cool. And yes, I do know that it rips the hair in the area you apply the pore strips out. I’m cool with that too. In fact, that’s something I like about the pore strips personally. This one though is different from the ones I usually use. The strip is black in color so I wondered how we could really see if it works on blackheads as the tip of blackheads is where the “black” is and the strip is….well, black? I followed the instructions provided and was satisfied with the result. Now here’s the takeaway from my review: while it does work, I can’t tell from one use if it’s any better than the regular pore strips I’ve been using. I see stuff on it that’s whitish in color, just like I would with the regular pore strips. But that’s it.
What I don’t like about this product? I only got one sample so my review is solely based on that one-time use. With that said, I can’t see any discerning difference in the results compared to using a regular pore strip. Maybe I don’t have enough blackheads to observe the difference between these and the regular pore strips completely? That’s possible.
I got my Walmart Fall 2016 Beauty Box in about 2 weeks ago. I was fairly pleased with what I got for $5 (yet again!).
The boxes vary in terms of worth to me each time but what it boils down to is it’s just $5 and looking at everything I got, that’s not a bad price for it at all.
I see a few things already here that I can use immediately. This is a great way to try some stuff out before committing to a full-sized product!
Hey guys! Wedding festivities have now died down as my sweet friend that’s like a sister to me is now officially hitched. It was a full weekend for me starting with doing all the girls’ nails and getting mehndi (henna) on my hands up to close to my elbow. The wedding was long but beautiful and full of meaning. Anyway, today’s post is on something I’ve been using regularly recently from the recent Walmart Spring 2016 Beauty Box. Here’s my take on the Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser.
What I love about this product? It comes in a standard tube container that most facial cleansers come in. The scent is pretty good although I’m not quite sure how to describe it. Clean? Light? I’ll go with those. The formula is a little bit more viscous than what I expected. So make note of that when squeezing some of the product out to use. It has some larger grainy bits in there but I don’t find it abrasive at all. It actually cleans out my pores very well without drying. I find it such a delight to use! It leaves my skin so soft and smooth. It doesn’t bubble up much but I don’t care about that. I just apply a small amount in the palm of my hand and apply it onto my face with massaging motions. I’ve been using this in my everyday morning shower for about 2 weeks now and love it.
What I don’t like about this product? Nothing at all! I think this is one of my top 3 facial cleansers. I’m definitely buying this one after I use it all up!
I finally, FINALLY got my Walmart Spring 2016 Beauty Box a few days ago. I was wondering if I was even gonna get one since I’ve seen people get theirs a few weeks ago. I thought maybe there was something wrong with my billing or there was some glitch. But nope, here it is in all its full glory:
Everything came packed securely in the sturdy cardboard box.As usual, this box costs only $5. Can’t beat that really in my opinion. I’m pretty sure the contents of my box differed from those that I’ve seen who got them a week or 2 earlier. Maybe they ran out of some stuff but I like pretty much everything I got so I’m not complaining!
The item I’m most excited about to try is the Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser. I actually almost purchased it when I was at ULTA recently. Now I have a sample to try it out first to see if I like it. Hope y’all are having a great weekend so far and stay tuned for my take on some of the items from this box!
