Alrighty! I know that it wasn’t too long ago that I posted about the ipsy September 2013 Glam Bag, but here’s my take on the one for this month so I can move on to starting my giveaway (and you’ll see why). Here’s my take on the ipsy October 2013 Glam Bag.
Sorry for the lighting. It was a very cloudy day when I took the group shot. For my second ipsy Glam Bag, not bad at all again. I didn’t really care though for the makeup bag, but it’s actually part of the challenge ipsy has going this month to win more prizes. Eh….it holds no interest for me really, but I’m passing this on (as well as some of the other items from this month’s Glam Bag) to others in a giveaway with other stuff. The brand I am most familiar with from this bag is Zoya. I have a wall nail polish rack that is filled with Zoya. I have even more Zoya shades spilling out on top of my Melmers. I love Zoya. It’s a great brand, works well and lasts long on my nails. I already own this shade, Giovanna, so it will be part of my next giveaway prize. I have heard good things about Coastal Scents, so I’m eager to try this makeup brush. I don’t own a good set of makeup brushes, so this definitely helps in the makeup tools department. I haven’t tried it yet, but I will admit I have high expectations for this one. Crossing my fingers for the best! I have heard of the brand Sexy Hair before. I’ve never used anything from them though. I can’t wait to try the texturizing spray clay out. It’s supposed to give my hair more volume. I got another item from Starlooks this month and this time it’s a lip pencil. I have enough lip liners, so this will go on into my giveaway prize stash as well. The last item is from Bella Terra Mineral Cosmetics. I currently am not interested in this item as I have a ton of makeup and mineral makeup, so to the stash it goes as well! It’s a pretty good bag overall — I just don’t have use for half of the items. It won’t go to waste though!
Overall, not bad. I did expect more and it came a little bit short, but this just gives me the opportunity to pass them on to others that may be more interested in some of them items that didn’t catch my eye. I can’t wait for next month’s bag! I’m hoping that it’s better than the 2 I’ve got so far. We’ll see….
Hey guys! I was out sick yesterday, so I didn’t even bother getting a post out on the blog. I’m better now though and just got my ipsy October 2013 Glam Bag. I then realized that I took pictures of the September 2013 one and never posted about it! So here’s a late post on the ipsy September 2013 Glam Bag.
For my first ipsy Glam Bag, not bad. I would’ve been bummed if the bag wasn’t the one that was included in that month cause there’s nothing special for me in everything I got. The brand I am most familiar with from this bag is John Frieda. I didn’t even bother to try it out much. It’s a nice shampoo brand. I’m in it with this subscription service for things other than shampoo and conditioners though. I’m familiar with NYX as well. I own about 30 of their nail polish shades. Good stuff really, but sadly a pass for me when it comes to anything else other than nail polish for now. I already own too many makeup from various other brands that I don’t want to start with NYX too. The 2 brands I have never heard of is Elizabeth Mott and Starlooks. I haven’t tried the Elizabeth Mott one since I’ve been trying to finish up all the opened mascara tubes I have. I’ve read some good and some bad reviews on this, so I’ll reserve any judgment until I try it. I did try the Starlooks eye pencil and I gotta say it rocks! It’s more pigmented than I thought and very easy to use. I use it on my lower water line and it stays there for a good while. I still like my Milani and Urban Decay pencils better, but this is a good one to keep an eye out for.
Overall, not bad for the first bag. The item I liked most though is the blue makeup bag itself. Is that kinda sad? Well…..it’s still a better option than Birch Box in my opinion. I got a one year subscription so we’ll see how this plays out as it goes! Also included is a sample of a few eye shadow shades and one blush from Michelle Phan’s Em line. It’s like one of those cardboard sampler things where a little bit of the product is on. I felt it and it’s decent, but I’m still not sold on plunking down the cash for it. I already have a lot of makeup and it’s not something that I must have.
