This deal can’t get any better! Hurry over before today ends for free shipping on any ULTA order and they also have a $5 off $10 code going on right now (208236)! If you know me well, I love maximizing my deals so I know my best bet would be to get something that hits exactly or a little over $10 for 50% or almost 50% off. To maximize this deal even more? Purchase items with ongoing deals or markdowns and that will be more than 50% off saving now off retail price instantly when you order! Here are some scenarios I came up with below.
ULTA is running a $3 on some travel size items for the hair and these retail for $6 or $7 for most items in this list. That’s already at least 50% off retail. I grabbed 3 items from the Sexy Hair line bringing the total to $9 and I picked up a nail smoothing block for $1 to make the total $10. I added the fragrance sampler during checkout and used the $5 off $10 coupon. The total including tax to my state is $5.43. Not bad!
c.booth items on the ULTA site are 50% off again! Wowee! What a deal! I had a problem with supply being available in my local ULTA store when they had this sale last time, so this is even better for me. I took 2 c.booth items that are regularly $9.99 and added them into my cart. Being they’re 50% off, they show up as $5 each. I added the fragrance sampler during checkout and used the $5 off $10 coupon again. The total including tax to my state is $5.43 again. Before tax, that makes each c.booth item $2.50 — a killer deal at 75% off original retail price!
Another c.booth order but this time the products I added were $7.99 original price for a $4 sale price. I have $8 in the cart so I needed at least $2 to be able to use the $5 off $10 coupon code. I happen to stumble upon a Physicians Formula item and noticed the ridiculously low price. Is this as mistake? I entered the brand under search and see that a decent amount of their items are marked wayyy down. I added this shadow quad for $2.79 and that brings the total to $10.17. The total including tax to my state is $6.28 after adding the fragrance sampler and using the coupon code.
You can use various cashback sites to make this an even sweeter deal. I know that eBates has it but if you have a Discover card…..you are about to save even more! ULTA purchases through the Discover Deals link is giving 15% cash back now. 15%! And on top of that, this quarter’s 5% cashback is on any online purchase! 15% plus 5% on top of what you already save in the ULTA order alone.
What are you guys waiting for?! This deal is simply too good to pass up! Go! 🙂
I decided to do this one earlier this year since last year I was so late in posting that it became a last-minute guide here. With all the F&F sales and upcoming Black Friday/Cyber Monday events, I thought I’d post on some of these before they go out of stock. Now, this is what I personally would think be good gifts because I either like them and would love getting them (or I *cough* got them already) or I think that it would be a suitable gift for the holiday season. A lot of them are beauty related (no surprise there!) but there are a few that spill into various other categories. I’ll be keeping items of the same brand together for ease.
1) Tarte Bon Voyage Collector’s Set And Travel Bag – $59 at Sephora
If there is one holiday set I would want in the beauty department, this would be it. This limited edition, Sephora-exclusive set valued at $423 houses a beautiful palette of their famous Amazonian clay eye shadows along with some other beauty products. I’ve always been a sucker for palettes and the design and color of the entire set just caught my attention big time. I loved their set from last year, but the bag is even better this year. Last year’s bag struck me as polished and something I would take with me on any a business trip or something. It opens up to hang somewhere conveniently. This year’s bag is structured better for what I need. I like cases like this where it has a little bit more shape to it and such. And the print…..simply love! I was disappointed that this set didn’t come with at least one of their famous Amazonian clay blushes, but it’s a win other than that for me really. I received this set a few days ago in the mail since I purchased it online from Sephora during their F&F event and it did not disappoint.
2) Tarte Away Oui Go Portable Palette & Collector’s Set – $48 at ULTA
This is limited edition and available only at ULTA. I got the 20% off everything coupon this time around and I didn’t hesitate in taking the plunge with this set. I hemmed and hawed last year on this and missed out on it. I didn’t regret it a whole lot, but I definitely wished that it was still available after the holidays on sale. No luck there! So instead of this happening again, I went ahead and got it since I have other things I wanted to get from ULTA already. The shades seem to be more on the neutral side for me, but I need some neutral stuff. And the packaging is simply too pretty for words! Tarte hit it out of the park with their offerings everywhere for this holiday season it seems. I also didn’t hesitate in getting this set as I have last year due to the fact the set from Sephora didn’t have any Amazonian clay blushes and this set does. I should be getting this in today when I get home. Downside in ordering at ULTA online is they ship slower than Sephora for me. I was at my local ULTA store last weekend and they were already out of many of the holiday sets and kits. I would call before going or just order it online.
3) Tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette – $42 at Sephora
I got this one on a whim. It was more of an impulse buy that’s valued at $110. I missed out on last year’s set because I kind of liked the Amazonian clay blushes in their own separate containers and this one houses several in one. But it’s such a good deal to pass up and most of the reviews I read are really, really good. Like really good. This would be a nice prettily packaged gift for a blush lover. I’m pretty sure this another Sephora-exclusive item.
4) Tarte Chic To Cheek Deluxe Amazonian Clay Blush Set – $35 at Tarte
I’m pretty sure this was offered at least online at ULTA, but I don’t see it there anymore and can only find it at Tarte’s website here as of this exact moment. I wish I paid more attention to this one when I placed my ULTA order last week. I would’ve picked this up in a heartbeat, but I was just so focused on checking out with the Away Oui Go set that I didn’t even bother looking at the other Tarte holiday items on the website. For blush lovers, this set is another good deal! But at least I did end up with some of the Amazonian clay blushes from the Sephora-exclusive blush palette and in the other ULTA-exclusive set itself.
5) Too Faced Everything Nice Set – $56 at Sephora
This set is valued at $450, making this one of the best buys in terms of holiday palettes really. With that said, this is the item that was just not meant to be for me. If the bag didn’t look that cute (I like glittery things) then I wouldn’t have even considered getting it until it goes on sale after the holiday season. With that said, I did want to get it but when I got the Sephora F&F code this item was out of stock. I chalked it up as it wasn’t meant to be. My local Sephora in JCPenney did carry it, so I figured maybe by a long shot it will be around until another sale or something (I know, wishful thinking). I got another Sephora F&F code a few days later and figured I’d check to see if there’s something else I want. This palette was still out of stock and I ended up ordering more Tarte items that I was afraid would be gone soon. On the last day the Sephora F&F code was good for, it came back in stock. Someone tried to provide me a last-minute Sephora F&F code but it wouldn’t let me use it saying that the code has already been redeemed. I took this as a sign that this is just not meant to be. It’s still in stock right now and it’s a gorgeous palette in my opinion. While the Tarte ones are more on the neutral side to me, these are brighter with more color. This palette looks flatter than last year’s and that’s the other thing that appealed to me. If you’re looking to get this for someone, I’d say grab it ASAP as it could go out of stock again pretty soon and this is a limited edition palette.
6) Freeman Beauty Mystery Bag – $30 at Freeman
If you hurry, there’s still time to snag this deal. It isn’t as good as last year’s deal for sure since you get up to $100 worth of stuff for $30 instead of up to $90 for $20, but what you get still makes a great gift as a whole or broken up into smaller groups for stocking stuffers or what not. I won’t go over this more since I already blogged about it here. You can just enter the keywords “mystery bag” in their search and it pops up. But grab it while you can because this is only good until end of today I believe!
7) Annual ipsy Subscription – $110 at ipsy
This might be a little tricky to do but it would be a neat gift. You can get a beauty product lover a yearly subscription to ipsy (or another beauty subscription program but I only have it with ipsy so that’s what I can only recommend). I love my ipsy subscription. I’m in my second year subscription currently and the last few bags have been better than ever for me. You’ll have to take a quiz for a profile to be built up so they have an idea how to craft your bags so to speak. It would be a neat idea but keep in mind there is a wait for subscriptions (not sure if it’s just for the monthly one or both monthly and yearly) so I’m not sure how it’ll pan out as a gift. Rain check? If it didn’t have any form of waiting period, it gets high marks from me as a gift for sure. To get a glimpse of what I get each month, check my posts here.
8) Philosophy Holiday Spice Rack Trio – $27 at Philosophy and various retailers
Philosophy has been very good every year in churning out holiday sets and this year is no exception. Starting off with their Holiday Spice Rack Trio, this is the perfect holiday gift for someone that loves holiday spice scents in their bath products. This set includes 6 oz bottles of Cinnamon Stick, Creamy Cardamom and Vanilla Bean Nutmeg shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath. The packaging is quite cute as well.
9) Philosophy Making Spirits Bright – $23 at Philosophy and various retailers
Continuing on with the Philosophy train, this set is sure to delight with 8 oz bottles of Holiday Lights Aglow and Twinkle Berry shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath. The colors are very festive and the packaging is good enough that all you need is stick on a bow with a note or gift tag.
10) Philosophy Iced Gingerbread Cookie Duo – $27 at Philosophy and various retailers
This is one kit from Philosophy that I’m very curious about in terms of scent. I usually love their scents but there has been a few that were misses for me. I was hoping for something like hot chocolate with this kit, but this comes close to what I’m looking for. This sweet kit includes 8 oz bottles of Spiced Gingerbread Cookie shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath and Sugary Cinnamon Icing body lotion. YUM! It’s a sweet treat for whoever the lucky recipient of this is!
11) Philosophy Holiday Handbook – $20 at Philosophy and various retailers
I noticed a lot of other brands having hand kits for the holidays and while I’m not sure if Philosophy has made one before…they do have one this year. This kit includes 1 oz tubes of Peppermint Stick, Fresh Cream and Cranberry Medley. The formula is supposed to be ultra-rich as it’s formulated with multiple butters and such. You can gift this as a whole or break it up for stocking stuffers! It’s the perfect gift too as winter can be very harsh on our skin, hands included.
12) Philosophy Hands Of Hope Ornament – $10 at Philosophy and various retailers
This item is something very cute as a gift and doubles up as a tree ornament. It’s their hand and cuticle cream in a 1 oz tube packaged ready to go right on your tree! Convenient and love the dual purpose of this item. One less ornament to get?
13) Philosophy Have A Cherry Christmas Ornament – $7 at Philosophy and various retailers
Same concept as the previous item mentioned but a different product. Prettily packaged to go right on your tree, this festive scent of 2 oz shower gel will be sure to bring a smile to someone’s face. It’s very cute and there are other items available in the ornament style packaging instead of just the 2 mentioned here.
14) L.L.Bean Women’s Wicked Good® Slippers – $79 at L.L.Bean
I own this and this is one of my favorite gift item received to date. It is super soft, warm and comfy. My husband actually has a pair and I loved it so much that he would see me trudging around the house in his pair (since it’s a much bigger size). He thought I should have my own pair so he bought me a pair. I’ll be slipping into them starting tonight since Halloween is usually when the cold weather starts with a vengeance here in OK.
15) Scarves – $?? at various retailers
Doesn’t matter where you get it from or how much it cost as long as the quality is pretty good, scarves is a good gift item in my opinion. It will be well-used in the winter season so it’s actually a very useful gift. They come in various colors, materials, shapes and price range so there is room for putting thought into it as a gift really. I know that Ann Taylor has some that are stylish and made from different materials. Coach makes some too, but I usually only get those as a gift or at the outlets (I can’t bring myself to pay for one full-price still!). Compare and see what will work and if they’re not a scarf person then maybe the next item on the list is more up their alley. Shown above are some of my Coach scarves. All of them are from past seasons and no longer available, but this will give you an idea what they look like somewhat. I do use some of them but I usually save them for special occasions due to the nature of the fabric. I have lots of other scarves that I just throw on and use everyday, but they’re not made of silk like my Coach scarves are.
16) Gloves/Mittens – $?? at various retailers
Gloves or mittens is another winter wardrobe staple. If you live in an area where winter is cold and could be harsh — this item is a must. There are many type of gloves out there but I do have a preference on what kind I have to have for certain reasons. I love wool and cotton gloves. They do keep my hands warm pretty good, but when there is ANY chance moisture comes into play….leather (or an even better water repelling material) is king for me. I only have one pair of leather gloves, but it has held up well and kept moisture at bag where my wool and cotton gloves failed miserably. The cotton is the worst when it comes to that of course. It just sucks up moisture and my hands are cold. The leather provides more protection. My hands will start to feel cold still but it stays dry. Now for longer periods of time, the leather will of course not hold up to the constant moisture still. I’m actually researching on gloves made of other types of material for this purpose. There are times when I have to unexpectedly battle the elements outside and use my hands a lot. I’d like to keep them warm and dry as long and as much as possible.
17) Charms/Keyfobs – $?? at various retailers
Another cute gift idea are charms or keyfobs. The ones I have are all mostly from Coach that I got as either gifts or from the outlets. These make neat little cute gifts for girls of all ages really. There is some room for making it a more personal gift depending on the charm or keyfob design and such. Shown above are only some of the charms and keyfobs I own. All of these are from past seasons, so the selection is different from what’s available now. This is just to give you guys an idea what they’ve made in the past. I try to pair them with some of the bags I own.
18) Candles – $?? at various retailers
I am picky when it comes to candle scents, but not overly picky as some. Still, take note of this when you’re thinking of giving candles as gifts. Just think of what they may or may not like. If all else fails, it’s the thought that counts. I know my neighbor friend loves candles that smell like baked stuff. I personally like some of those too like butter cookies or cake. I know my Didi doesn’t. In fact, she doesn’t like anything that smells like food in bath and body products as well. But holiday scents is a forgivable thing I would think for a recipient that just so happens to dislike such scents. It’s a seasonal scent and it’s something a lot of people would pick up so in case you did for someone that just doesn’t like it….I think they’ll live. Good deals can be found sometimes at Bath & Body Works or Yankee Candle just to name a few. There are a lot of seasonal candle scents at Bath & Body Works and the labels on them are so darn cute! Something simple like this would also make a good hostess gift during the holiday season.
19) Perfumes – $?? at various retailers
Now, the same thing I said to the item before this applies with the big disclaimer that this is more, more personal than that and that there may be some seasonal perfumes out there but I honestly wouldn’t recommend you giving someone that. Home scents are one thing but personal scent is a whole different category. A lot of people may tolerate a scent they just find borderline okay at home but not on themselves. It’s close quarters compared to scents for the home. This is your body! So unless you know they will love or probably love the scent, my suggestion is to steer clear in this category. It’s a lovely gift item but only if it’s a scent she loves. See what she uses and if she’s running low on that. Or if there is another scent you are pretty sure it’s similar that she would like….I say go for it. Use common sense and your judgment on this.
20) Gift cards/certificates – $?? at various retailers
A lot of people will disagree with me and a lot of people will agree with me as well on this. Gift cards/certificates make great gifts. In my case, it is especially true for a person who tends to shop and stock up on sales and clearances like me. I would rather get a gift card to a place I like and get things that go on sale right after Christmas or the holiday season. I get more bang for the buck. If there’s something I really want that can’t wait, I would’ve gotten it as soon as I can. If I didn’t get it, then if it’s no longer available come day after Christmas or the holiday season then oh well. I can get what I want with it instead of possibly something I may like or not like at all. It’s a win-win for everyone (except for those that dislike giving gift cards/certificates cause they think it’s impersonal). My personal picks are ULTA, Victoria’s Secret, Target and Sephora.
Again, disclaimer here is that these are some of the things I think would make great gifts for the holiday season but it certainly doesn’t mean that everyone will agree. You know the recipient more than I do, so use your judgment on what will work best for them as a gift.

I hemmed and hawed and finally caved in last night. I made sure I liked stuff from this brand enough to make another purchase. I ran into the master bathroom and sat on the bathroom floor with my Brittany Spaniel beside me. I went through my Laura Geller inventory and opened an unused blush and applied it on real quick. It felt so light and I liked what I see that it sealed the deal for me. I ran to the PC and clicked add to cart twice (2 different kits) and placed my order. So what did I end up getting? 2 kits: Baked 101 and Sun Kissed Baked Radiance. I always found her kits to be the most affordable option and adding the 30% off on top of that just made it too hard to resist.
I’d recommend not putting it off any longer if you’ve been wanting to place an order for Laura Geller items. 30% off is one of their best sales from what I can tell. The bonus gift for reaching $50 is a nice incentive too. What are you waiting for? Hope on over to their website here. This ends tomorrow at 11:59 PM EDT.
I always end up not getting anything from ULTA’s 21 Days of Beauty Steals, which started yesterday. Not this time though! I got into Laura Geller makeup recently (because they’re soooo pretty and no….I haven’t used any of it except one item out of 20+ or so) and couldn’t pass up on this deal for $15:
I’m very excited on that lip shade and the eye shadow/liner. If you go to their link for these beauty steals, you can see what’s coming up and which deals are available both in-stores and online and which ones are online only (like the one I just caved to). I hate paying for shipping (wish they have a free shipping with $25 purchase right now) so I got 2 of these and added another item to my cart to bump my total purchase price up (I’ve been eyeing it anyway). You also get a free full-size Laura Geller I-Care Eyeliner with a $30 purchase from the brand (which I did get since I bought 2 of these). The only other beauty steals that caught my eye are the Stila and Cargo palettes, but the Holiday palettes are all coming out so I’ll most likely pass on them. If I do remember on the day the deal goes live, I’ll probably grab an Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel (finally!). I don’t really do anything for my brows and this may change everything I’ve thought about brow care (which is basically non-existent in my life).
Anything catching you eye from ULTA’s 21 Days of Beauty Steals?
So…..I was alerted recently through G’s blog post here about Sephora’s $15 and Under Summer Event happening now. I decided to check it out since they’re also have some neat samples that you can get with purchase. I didn’t see anything must-have from that category and proceed to look at their sale section before I end my browsing session. I found these 2 beauties still available and couldn’t pass them up, so they were promptly added to my shopping cart.
At $25 when I first saw these, I hemmed and hawed on whether to get it or not. Now that it’s at $15 — it’s too cute to pass up for that price. I added a few other filler items to get the total to above $50 for free shipping and selected the GLAMGLOW mask for my promo code slot with YOURMASK. I selected 3 free samples and it’s on its way to me now!
So, it’s basically 2 days away and you’re out of idea on what to get the mother/daughter/girl/woman in your life? Never fear! I put together a neat little list that you can dash out and purchase something that she’ll hopefully love. I know these things made me swoon and read on to see why!
1) The Tarte Of Giving Collector’s Set & Travel Bag – $59 at Sephora
•20 Limited-Edition Amazonian Clay Eye Shadows
•8 Deluxe Maracuja Lipglosses
•Deluxe Pure Maracuja Oil
•Deluxe Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment
•Deluxe Limited-Edition Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blush in Memorable
•Deluxe Cheek Stain in Flush
•Deluxe Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-In-1 Mascara
•Travel Makeup Bag
What can I say about this? Um, this was the only thing that caught my eye when I was browsing on Sephora right before the F&F sale started. I wanted this so bad for many reasons. First, Tarte is a very good makeup brand. Second, it’s an insanely good price for what you get (retail of items separately is $490). Third, it’s pretty and I like pretty things. Last, I just want it and I don’t know why. I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis at all. I use moisturizer and some eye cream and go. Will this sit unused in my makeup stash? For a while, sure. Do I regret buying it? Hell no! I read that their set from last year sold out very fast so as soon as I got a F&F code, I snapped it up. I saw some about a week ago at my local Sephora in JCPenney store, so even if it’s sold out online you may luck out with your local Sephora or Sephora in JCPenney store.
2) The Tarte Gorgeous Getaways Portable Palette Set – $48 at ULTA
•16 Full Size Amazonian Clay Eye Shadows
•4 full size Amazonian 12-Hour Clay Blushes (LE Shades)
•3 full size Maracuja Lipglosses
•Portable Collector’s Compact to take the interchangeable palettes on-the-go
If you’re not close to any Sephora or Sephora in JCPenney store and there’s an ULTA store instead, this is your closest bet to the set from Sephora. It’s a good buy as well and I did find myself wanting it, but since I already got The Tarte Of Giving…..I can’t really justify getting this as well. I did put this on my Holiday list since I was asked to make one and I can’t really think of anything else (some of the stuff from the rest of this list is also from my Holiday list). Total value for this is $433 — a steal for what you’re paying then!
3) Physicians Formula Happy Booster™ Glow & Mood Boosting Illuminating Bronzing Veil – $13.95 or so online and at various mass retailers and drugstores
It has a long name, but my fiancé has learned that I simply call it “the heart makeup thing” (he got me my first one!). This is still my favorite Physicians Formula item to date. The cuteness of the hearts just sucked me in. Do I need it? No. Do I own it? Yes. In both Light Bronzer and Bronzer shades. The product itself is a nice bronzer with a light dusting of shimmer. Physicians Formula has always been a higher priced brand for a drugstore beauty brand, but I am one patient being. I would wait for the brand to go on sale at drugstores or mass retailers I frequent that carry the brand. In fact, CVS is having their Winter Beauty Clearance event right NOW and I managed to get some backups of this along with other items I don’t own as seen in the post here. So for a couple of bucks, you can get one of these and toss it in their gift bag as something extra or use it as a stocking stuffer gift.
4) Physicians Formula pH Matchmaker pH Powered Lip Gloss – $9.95 or so online and at various mass retailers and drugstores
I recently got this as part of my prize from a contest the Physicians Formula ran over the summer (see post here). It is the first item I opened from everything I’ve received and I was wowed by it. I was apprehensive about the claims it made that it matches to the pH level of my skin and adjusts within 60 seconds to reflect the perfect lip color for me. But it does work in my opinion. I was actually amazed at how it looked so natural on my lips and just provided a beautiful shine. I didn’t hesitate to grab this item in Pink as well (I received Natural in my prize pack) when it scanned as being on clearance at my local CVS store. The Pink does show up differently than Natural on my lips (as it should); I do see that it isn’t the same as compared to the moment I put it on. It leaves a slight pink tint that goes well with my natural lip color. And this product has a rubber push button on the cap that is used to illuminate the brush for perfect application in the dark (one side of the lip gloss tube holds a slim mirror). It’s one of my favorite lip glosses to date because of all these neat features combined.
5) Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Shimmer Veil – $14.95 or so online and at various mass retailers and drugstores
Why do I want this? I honestly don’t know. But what I do know is that I want to own one to try it out and I used this as a filler item in my list. This is not as widely available as the other Physicians Formula products and I actually had a chance to get one at the CVS closest to my work. But it wasn’t meant to be. Someone has sprayed it out already and I didn’t feel like picking it up in that state even if it was on clearance (it was the last one in the store). I think I do remember seeing it at Walmart though, but I didn’t feel like spending the money for it. The packaging might be part of the lure. It looks like one of those spray bottles from decades ago that I see in old movies and such.
6) Something from Victoria’s Secret – online and in stores
Why not? It could be something as simple as a gift card or something more personal like silk pajamas. It could be one of their sexy perfumes or pretty lingerie (for that woman in your life!). Whatever it is, I know a lot of women wouldn’t mind getting something from here. Just be sure to get a gift receipt in case of sizing or preference reasons for exchange (hey, can’t win them all!).
P.S. Their semi-annual sale just started online, so she can put that gift card to good use! It will start in stores shortly as well.
7) Kohl’s Soft, warm, fuzzy slippers – online and in stores
This one’s not on my list at all, BUT Kohl’s is open all day and night until 6 PM tomorrow and you can get this there. Aside from nice slippers to keep her warm, you can grab a robe as well or even some jewelry. Just think of what her preferences and needs are since their taste could be very specific. Is she needing some gloves? Does she like and keep buying warm, fuzzy socks? Last year, my fiancé got me 3 pairs of footwear. He hunted down the black patent strappy heels because he noticed my current pair is frayed and broken down to the point that I used JB Weld on them to keep wearing them. They are comfortable and they go with everything I wear. He got me a blue satin pair from Anne Taylor that he thought I would look great in and that he noted I didn’t have any footwear in blue. The last one is fuzzy lined slippers from L.L.Bean. He has a pair and noticed that sometimes I’d trot around the house in it because it’s soft and warm….so he got me my own! Kohl’s also carry items for the home and kitchen, but it really depends on who you’re shopping for since I know some people who dislike getting kitchen appliances for a Holiday present.
8) Donate to a Charity she holds dear in her heart – various
If there is a specific Charity or cause that means the world to her, giving a gift on behalf of her may bring a smile to her face. I know it will for several other people including myself. I am fortunate enough to be where I am in my life. I like to spread the joy around when I can. And here’s the thing about the Holiday season for me — it’s all about giving and not expecting anything in return. When I get something, it’s just a bonus.
There ya go! I hope this helps y’all out there some. I didn’t put things down like jewelry or cars cause those are huge purchases that are really specific to people’s tastes. Heck, even the ones I listed are pretty specific to people’s tastes (like mine!) but just think of the person and try your best to pick out what you think they’d like if you don’t have anything to go on with. At least this way you did try your best. And make a mental note next year to maybe start shopping earlier? Hehe! 🙂

Hey guys! A lot of you are aware that CVS is having their beauty clearance event right now. I didn’t want to wait until the stores are all wiped out so I went middle of the week last week and visited 2 stores. Here is my loot….
The Physicians Formula and Revlon items I got were all 75% off and the L’Oreal is 50% off. I had some manufacturer coupons for Revlon and L’Oreal so I managed to save even more. There are lots of stuff from other brands as well that are on clearance. If your store does not have the % off stickers on beauty products, fret not. They might still be on clearance! Just take the item to the scanner to see what it is ringing up for. The first store I went to did not have any stickers but the second one did. Now there is something I have to mention about Physicians Formula and Rimmel clearance products sighted as of yesterday. I went back to the first store I went to, trying to pick up a few more Physicians Formula items for a future giveaway and everything is back to full price. I posted my haul on Instagram and the buyer beware and a few others in other states also experienced the same thing and with the Rimmel brand as well. They were at their CVS stores last week and the same items that rang up with clearance prices are full price again as of yesterday.
I have contacted CVS corporate about this and explained the situation to them. They checked with how their clearance price works because I asked if the brand was on a weekly deal and the weekly deal got turned off….maybe the clearance stuff for that brand got turned off too? They said it shouldn’t be. So I just told them, look….I just wanted to let you guys know cause people are bringing items (especially at stores with the stickers on) to the register only to find out they’re all ringing up full price. It can be a source of unnecessary embarrassment and an undesirable shopping experience overall. I suggested for them to do something like either send out a note from corporate to all stores to pull off the stickers off the brand or if there’s a switch then turn it back on so clearance prices will reflect as such. But that’s the extend of what I can do. I told them I’m not calling for me since I already got some stuff from it, but I don’t think it’s right when others may get accused by the store of switching stickers and such (it happened to someone). I’m hoping that it’s just a switch and CVS will go OOPS! and turn it back on. I guess we’ll have to see and find out. Also, I can’t say this happened to ALL stores. Some stores may still have their stuff all good with the % off, but I know I’m not the only one where everything went back up to full price. My suggestion is to scan the items first before going to the register.
For a growing list of what’s spotted on sale for CVS beauty clearance event, go to Nouveau Cheap’s post here and check it out! 🙂
P.S. The unopened items are going to make it to my future giveaways. I was just hoping to get more, but there are other brands on clearance too so I’ll be shopping for those to add to the pile!
P.P.S. One of Nouveau Cheap’s readers mentioned that there is a special deal with Physicians Formula this week and that may have affected the pricing. This was told to her by her CVS store I believe. Again, just scan and if it’s not on clearance….hope that it will be soon later on!
:EDITED: I just called CVS corporate again to find out if it is possibly tied to the $20 free tote deal and when does it end, but they don’t see an end date for it in their system. So again, if your store doesn’t have the clearance sticker….you’re probably out of luck and if your store does have the stickers then it’s a hit or miss on whether they’d honor it or not (most stores do according to what I’ve been reading online). If you got in on it last week, just count yourselves lucky! 🙂
:ANOTHER EDIT: I stopped by the CVS store by my workplace that I’ve never been to before and figured if they have the 75% off stickers then I’ll take them to the register and see if they’ll honor it or not. Only 3 of the 11 items I got reflected the clearance price and the manager that rang me up was saying that “they haven’t fixed them all yet” and I mentioned that I called corporate twice the past 2 days to tell them what was happening. She said that store managers have been calling in too. So they honored the 75% off and this is what I got….
If they had said that they can’t honor it, I would’ve just left. I went during my lunch hour and already spent some time talking to their corporate office over the phone that I didn’t want to rehash it. But it all worked out. Hopefully all of the items will ring up again at 75% soon so it will all be a smooth shopping experience for all. Shout-out to my awesome fiancé for insisting I stop by this store to see if their stuff had stickers on. Love you! 🙂
I haven’t been advertising any Back Friday or Cyber Monday offers because honestly there are tons of other blogs out there that cover that already. I will blog about this one though cause it’s a pretty sweet deal, especially if you’ve been wanting to stock up on Barielle shades.
They are having a 40% off ON TOP OF their BOGO 1/2 off deal. So have at least 2 items in the cart and the second item will automatically take 50% off. The grand total will have another 40% off taken from it. They have free shipping too with this offer, but it ends tonight so grab all the shades and nail care items you’ve been wanting. If I didn’t partake in a similar sale a while back, I would definitely go for this one! Check them out here.
Hey y’all! Valentine’s is right around the corner, why not treat yourself? 🙂 I just did! BB Couture is having a sale on all of their pink shades. Half price!!! All you have to do is go to their webpage here and click on the header in the middle where it talks about the sale.
I got 19 bottles total, 2 are backups for existing pinks I have from them (Sexual Space and Happy Hooker) and 2 more of 2 shades each that has been on my list to get (Selene and Hermosa Surfer Girl). The only pink that I’ve been eyeing that went out of stock is Punk Rock Pink (looks super bright, right up my alley!), but since I got everything else I wanted…..I’m happy.
So hurry and don’t wait! You have until February 14th to take advantage of this sweet deal!
If you’ve been wanting to try Milani and Jordana products for a while now, this promo’s for you!
Only a few days left for this promo! Free shipping at $50 and reduced pricing of $14 each.
Hey y’all! Check out your weekly Michael’s ad to see if this offer is in your region as well. Starting tomorrow until the 17th, Melmers are 50% off! I store most of my nail polish in Melmers. Polish heads call them Melmers after the Helmers from IKEA, but we get these from Micheal’s instead. Thus, Melmer. Here is a shot that I took a few months ago of mine.
This is 3 Melmers stacked up one after the other. I wouldn’t stack up more than 3 cause that would be too high for my 5’6″ frame to look into the topmost drawer without having to use a step stool or something. I now have 6 and that’s my limit for owning polish. I didn’t want to do more than that at this point and it’s a way of somehow having control over what I have. They have a tendency to multiply like bunnies sometimes. 🙂
Hope this notice helps some of you score one this week. Also, Sinful Colors is back at $0.99 this week. Run to your Walgreens for this deal! 🙂
I just got back from the last of my Walgreens run this week to take advantage of the $0.99 Sinful Colors sale as well as getting some of the Revlon scented shades that were recently spotted everywhere (spend $3.99 and get $3 in Registered Rewards to use on your next purchase!). Well, today’s run was even more fun cause the Revlons I got rang up for $2.87 before tax. Sweet! I grabbed all the Sinful Colors I can find that I wanted and one of those that came home with me is Amethyst.
Amethyst was spotted in a display for their Go Plaid Collection. I know that the display had 4 shades and the only other one I even bothered to look at was a green creme called Envy. Formula for this purple creme is pretty opaque. Just one coat honey! I thought about using thinner coats for this one, but it seemed pretty opaque so I went with one slightly thicker coat.
Some Walgreens are open 24 hours a day, so it’s definitely not too late to get in on this deal last-minute!
OMG y’all! I have great news if you’re a Sinful Colors nail lacquer lover or simply someone that have been wanting to try them out. This week, Walgreens is having them on sale for $0.99 each! I have been waiting for this sale to score some shades that I’ve been pining on. This sale will definitely motivate me to stop by at the 2 Walgreens in my area! To kick things off, here’s one of my Sinful Colors shade from my stash called Queen Of Beauty.
Glittah!!! Y’all know I’m a huge glitter fan, but this is actually one of the last few Sinful Colors shades I got. Why? Well, they have other glitter shades that are more interesting like Hottie or Pinky Glitter, just to name a few. I eventually got to this silver glitter beauty. Formula was a teeny bit on the thin side, but gave me no problems during application. Drying time for this is longer than I expected for a glitter shade. Definitely use more coats for opacity. Shown is 4 thin coats with no top coat.
I’m hoping mine still have the neon ones that came out not too long ago. I usually don’t pick up any from this brand until they go on a sale like this.

I stopped by Walgreens (yet again) and stocked up on other shades from Sinful Colors I might like. For $0.99, there wasn’t much to think about when making the purchase. I don’t know how many times I’ve been back to Walgreens (I know for sure I made 7 transactions so far cause the limit is 3 each and I have 21 since Sunday but sometimes I have the Spy with me so sometimes I got 6 at a trip) but I almost got every single shade I could possibly want that’s available there right now. In continuation of spreading the word about their wonderful deal this week, I have swatched Sinful Colors’ Daddy’s Girl.
Daddy’s Girl is a very pretty dark purple glitter shade that almost has a glass flecked look to it but the glitter isn’t glassy (clear or diamond like, which gives the glassy look). The glitter in the lacquer is hovering between silver and gold but it’s not chunky or large. I honestly can’t tell if it’s silver or gold but it’s very pretty. It’s not as packed with glitter as other shades from Sinful Colors so the formula went on my nail plate really smooth, I feel no bumps at all after the nail color application. I have included several more pictures in different angles and different shades of lighting to capture the best that I can what this shade looks like.
As with most Sinful Colors nail polish, it goes on very sheer. Shown in the pictures is 4 thin coats with a thin layer of Nail Tek II as my top coat. It is very pretty by itself if you have the patience to apply several coats. The first coat that went on wasn’t really that promising. The formula didn’t allow an even application on the first coat so there were parts of my nail plate that had more nail polish even when I tried to even it out. It got better with each coat afterwards and the result of 4 coats is really quite stunning. It made me realize what others have been raving about with this particular shade even when the formula was giving them trouble. I haven’t tried layering with this shade but I’ve seen others have done it and this shade layers very well.
The Walgreens coupon that ends up ringing each of these babies at $0.99 is only good until Saturday. Grab them while you can. I noticed that the Sinful Colors display at the Walgreens I went to looks more and more bare as the days go on.
This week, Walgreens is having a special on Sinful Colors nail polish. They come out to $0.99 for each bottle (regularly at $1.99 each) with the Walgreens coupon found in their weekly ad flyer. It does have a buying limit of 3 so I begged my Spy to take me there after Service on Sunday (so we got 3 each). I also stopped by at the closest one by where I live yesterday (got 3 more) as there were more than 6 that I actually wanted. The coupon is located on the bottom left corner of page 10 on my copy of the ad flyer but it may be placed on a different spot in yours. I didn’t verify if this offer is regional (Walgreens and other drugstores have issued regional deals on their weekly ad flyers before). I hopped on this chance to grab some that piqued my interest. I am a sucker for glitters among other types of polishes (like holos!!!) and I’ve read feedback on Sinful Colors nail polishes, which contributed to the selection I made. The general consensus is that they tend to be on the sheer side, with some stating they needed at least 3 coats on most shades. Some complained about their formula, described as being gloopy somewhat. I decided to skip the sheerness problem by making my selection all glitter based. This way, I won’t be disappointed if it comes out being sheer as a good number of glitter polishes are sheer and are often meant to be used to layer on other opaque colors. Out of the 9 I got so far, Pinky Glitter is one of my favorites.
Pinky Glitter actually reminds me of some of the shades from China Glaze’s Specialty Glitter line. There are at least other 2 shades I picked out from Sinful Colors that have the same type of glitter (Nail Junkie and Hottie). It’s packed with glitter. There’s at least 2 different sized glitters that are holographic. The larger type of glitter flashes off a rainbow of colors when the light hits the glitter pieces very well. Very pretty! I am including several shots of this in different shades of lighting. Hope this helps someone decide if this is a shade for them or not.
The formula is not as smooth as the other ones I purchased (it’s all over the board really as I’ve had some that are really watery/runny, a few that went on the nail plate nicely, and a few that are thicker) but this is not the gloopiest one either. I can see what other nail polish lovers meant when they said they didn’t like their formula. Pictured here is 4 thin coats. I wanted it to really dry in between coats so I applied thinner coats. Drying time was really fast and I applied a layer of Nail Tek II on it as my top coat.
The price is definitely hot this week (just like the weather, haha!) so hit your local Walgreens and see what other shades they may have that would appeal to you in addition to this beauty. For $0.99, it’s not like you’re going to break the bank especially if you’ve been lemming for some of the similar glitter based shades from China Glaze’s Specialty Glitters line.
