Hey guys! Only a few more days until I’m officially off for the rest of the year! I’m so excited! Pretty much all the gifts are wrapped and the annual baking the Cookie Elf does for work is done. Those suckers were all gone in 3 hours! I made about 6 batches of 4 different types of cookies. I’ve been quite busy, so I managed to only spare a few minutes to show you what I got in my ipsy December 2014 Glam Bag.
The first item that I noticed was the Tarte lights, camera, lashes™ 4-in-1 mascara. I have about 3 of these laying around, so I didn’t really need another one but it’s not bad to have. It’s a decent mascara really. Next we have Beauty Without Cruelty A.H.A. 3% Facial Cleanser. I’m on a Freeman Beauty and Philosophy kick at the moment that I’m not sure if this will be put to use anytime soon. At any rate, I think I’ll keep this in my bathroom cabinet to keep it handy for use later on. I saw the NYX Butter Lip Balm and seriously thought about giving this to my FIL that loves lip balms. Only thing is it’s not clear (shade I got is called Marshmallow), so it’ll be something good for me to try out eventually. The most intriguing item would have to be the Swissco Electroplated Eyelash Curler. I’ve seen items from this brand in TJMaxx but I’ve just never been moved to grab any of them. I have a good eyelash curler so I think I’ll put this towards a goody bag for my niece that loves the color purple. Last item up is the Pixi Fairy Dust. The shade I got is Brightening Bare and while I like the brand Pixi, I don’t really have a use for this item. I think my nieces would get a kick out of this though, so I’ll be saving this one for one of them. The bag this month is a simple black nylon type material zip top pouch. It’s one of my least favorite bags from them since I started my subscription with them, but that’s okay since you win some and you lose some along the way.
And here I thought that last month’s bag was kinda disappointing, LOL! It can only go up from here — can’t wait for next month’s bag already!
Hey guys! I got my ipsy March Glam Bag not too long ago. I’ll keep this short and sweet cause I’m in a rush. Here’s what I got with my ipsy March 2014 Glam Bag.
So last month’s Glam Bag was the worst I’ve ever gotten. This month’s the exact opposite. Content-wise, this is the best Glam Bag I’ve received to date. I’m keeping all of the items I got. The first one that caught my eye is the Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad. The quad I got is called Bora Bora. The colors are vibrant and almost jewel toned (I included the photo with flash since it shows the jewel toned aspect more). It really drew me in and I knew the moment I saw it that I’m keeping it (and I didn’t have to with all the makeup I already own!). I haven’t tried it yet, but you bet that a review is coming up on this down the road. In fact, go on their website to look what other quads they have. I have my eye on Barcelona next! Next up is the Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer. I haven’t used that many makeup primers, so this would be a good one to try and compare with the ones I already own. I don’t use it much, but when I do it makes a difference on how long my makeup lasts. It’s more of a “nice to have” type of makeup item in my opinion. Now, y’all know I already own tons of nail polish. Well, I didn’t have any from Nicole By OPI’s new Roughles line. The shade I got is called On What Grounds? and it came just in time for Easter! It’s a mint shade with the texture of what the Rougles line is known for. The speckled look does go with Easter too and this shade is a pastel green mint. I’m keeping this just because it suits the occasion. Last up is the bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie™ Lipstick in Get Ready. I originally was going to keep this for myself, but being that I already have tons of lipsticks open I opted to save this for my mom. She’s coming to my wedding and I’ve already accumulated a ton of stuff for her that she’ll have to sift through. I don’t think she can bring a good number of them, but I remember her asking me about those makeup minis. I didn’t care for this months makeup bag although I thought it’s cool that it features an artist and it’s made of a waterproof-like material (not sure if it is, but it is compared to some of the materials the other bags were made of).
Overall, can’t complain. This is the first bag where I’m keeping everything! Now I can’t wait for next month’s bag.
Hey guys! It’s that time of the month again! I was going to blog about this maybe next week, but I got so excited about it that I just couldn’t wait. This is probably my favorite ipsy Glam Bag to date! I love the contents, I kept all but one item for my personal use, and I love the bag a lot. So, here’s my take on the ipsy November 2013 Glam Bag.
First off, I LOVE the bag! I can use it as a clutch and it’s perfect for this Holiday season! Next, I am keeping every single item but one for my personal use. That’s a first! I’ll be passing on the Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil. I have too many eye pencils from a handful of brands already that are not getting enough use (and love) from me. I can’t justify opening up this pretty, so I’ll add it to my next giveaway. The shade I got for that is Amethyst. I’m keeping the GLAMGLOW YOUTHMUD Tinglexfoliate Treatment cause I’ve never heard of it and I love trying new things like this especially from a new-to-me brand. The retail of this particular item is actually pretty crazy, so color me intrigued. I have a lot of bronzers already (hello Physicians Formula!) but I still couldn’t resist the Pixi Beauty Bronzer I got in Subtly Suntouched. Not bad, but I still prefer the cuter packaging and presentation of my favorite bronzer brand Physicians Formula. It does give me a light, subtle sunny glow. I’m familiar with Nailtini so I’m keeping this shade. It will make my total number of Nailtini lacquers 3 and it’s a good shade for this time of the year too with all the Holiday parties and such. I haven’t tried the em michelle phan mascara yet, but it’s on my list to do so. I have read several reviews about it and it’s pretty mixed, so I’ll reserve judgment until I try it. Last item in my glam bag is from another new-to-me brand called Be A Bombshell. It’s catchy and I like it! I was nervous that I wouldn’t like the lip crayon, but it is instant love! It goes on so smooth and creamy. Pigmentation is like from a lipstick or those pigmented lip balms that every brand is releasing now. The shade I got is Hot Damn and I think it would suit me better than the other shade they have that went to other people’s glam bags (purple one I think). It’s a great bag overall and I am ecstatic about it!
Overall, great bag! I love pretty much everything I got and I can’t wait to use the bag itself for some of the holiday events and parties I’ll be attending. I can’t wait for next month’s bag now!
