Nourish Organic Pure Hydrating Argan Face Serum

Hey guys! How are y’all doing today? I hope your Mother’s Day celebrations went well. Today’s post is on a product I got from my ipsy October 2015 Glam Bag. Here’s my thoughts on Nourish Organic Pure Hydrating Argan Face Serum.

Nourish Organic Pure Hydrating Argan Face Serum

What I love about this product? I find the scent quite pleasant — it’s what you would come to expect from an Argan oil product with a hint of orange or something. It’s not heavy for an oil serum really. I did have to get used to dispensing the right amount out of the tube as it’s pretty viscous. It’s easy to apply onto the face and while I did have this oil-sitting-on-my-face feeling right after putting it on….it goes away in a short time. It does keep my face moisturized and hydrated. Not sure if it’s the oil “sealing” the moisture in or what but hey, it works.

What I don’t like about this product? Two things really but it’s all based on personal preference. First, I hate that when my hair gets blown around onto my face it sticks to my face because the oil is still on my face. I just happen to not have that feeling of it on my face but it’s still there. Have you ever set something that hair oil or gel on a surface and leave it for a few days? Dust sticks to it. This is the same thing and living in a windy state like mine….no bueno. The other thing I didn’t like was that my face broke out the first time when trying it out. I was only 2 days in with using this and I stopped using it immediately. I tried again a few months later and I didn’t break out like I did the first time. About 2 small pimples cropped up this time so it wasn’t a complete showstopper. I was actually wary in trying it out again that second time as maybe my skin is telling me I should steer clear from it. I will only consider repurchasing it if this product was on sale for a good price as I did like how it performed overall.

ipsy October 2015 Glam Bag

Hey guys! I was very surprised how fast I got this month’s bag. It was in the mailbox yesterday when my husband checked. Here’s what I got in my ipsy October 2015 Glam Bag.

ipsy October 2015 Glam Bag

First off, while I’m not in love with the bag….I still like it. I love the fact that it’s gold. The other side is in black patent. First item that caught my eye is the Emité Make Up Professional Slant Tweezer. I’ve been due for a new one so this might be a good contender. Next up is Nourish Organic Pure Hydrating Argan Face Serum. I’ve used a product from this brand before so I’m open to trying this one out. I hope the scent isn’t the same as even though the product I did try said it’s unscented….the scent made me gag slightly. Then we have the AURORA Gel Effect Nail Polish. The shade everyone who got this is their bag is Inky Dinky. I’m not sure if I’m keeping this yet but I may just to compare how it fares to other brands. Next is the Beauty Without Cruelty Fragrance Free Hand and Body Lotion. Last thing I need right now is more hand and body lotion since I have a ton from Bath & Body Works. I’ll probably have this as an additional gift to someone eventually. Last item is theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick. The shade that everyone who got this item in their bag is Committed.

Overall, I’m most excited about the item from theBalm and I actually laughed at the name of the product (they’re pretty good and cute at naming their stuff!).

Nourish Organic Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser

Here’s something I’ve been trying out lately while going through my beauty and skincare stash: Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion from my ipsy September 2014 Glam Bag. It was the perfect size to try this out for a week or two to see if I need to nab this for the winter season.

Nourish Organic Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser

What I love about this product? It cleans pretty good as expected from a facial cleanser. It removes all the oil from my face at the end of the day, which is unexpected based on how the formula feels. The formula is light and more viscous than most I’ve tried. It is also creamy white in color. It provided good cleansing power for the few bubbles I get. Remember, bubbles doesn’t automatically mean clean. That’s something I’ve learned from years of soapmaking. It does give you the illusion that it cleans because of how we’re all brought up and led to believe that. I was actually surprised that there are some bubbles at all since it’s a cream cleanser. The product packaging is pretty and clean — quite simple too.

What I don’t like about this product? The scent. Compared to the Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion, this smells worse in my opinion. I was really expecting to be around the same scent as the face lotion or scentless even, but this actually has a scent to it that I don’t find pleasant at all. It’s a scent that I associate with organic and natural immediately (although not all organic and natural beauty items smell like that or the same even) or something very similar to it. It definitely does not make me think it came from Bath & Body Works or other similar brands. Scent is something very personal and we each have our own preferences, so I wouldn’t just discount trying it out based on my take on the scent if I were you.

ipsy September 2014 Glam Bag

Hey guys! I got my goodies from ipsy Glam Bag a little later this month, but it was worth the wait. I love, love, love the bag. I can’t stress that enough. I can’t decide if this is my favorite or second favorite makeup bag from ipsy. So, I was slightly disappointed of course that I noticed there is surface damage on the studded side of the makeup bag. The cardboard insert is placed outside of the bag and on that side so it poked the holes in the material. That was in fact what I saw when I opened the pretty metallic pink padded envelope it came in. The corner of the cardboard insert was right on the largest of the holes. 😦 I can live with that though. What bothered me more was the damage caused by the corner of the cardboard insert to the first stud. I could only guess that during shipping, just like how it poked holes into the material of the surface of the makeup bag…..the cardboard insert got into a nook at the first stud and kinda pried it around a little bit — stretching the material. I did end up emailing ipsyCare about it and they were quick to respond and resolve my issue. I asked if there was any way I could get another makeup bag because mine was damaged and sent a picture with it. They’re going to ship one out to me. But anyway, here’s everything that I got from my ipsy September 2014 Glam Bag.

ipsy September 2014 Glam Bag

The first item I zeroed in is the Nourish Organic Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser. I got another Nourish Organic product from an earlier ipsy Glam Bag and reviewed it here recently. It’s sitting on my bathroom counter currently as it’s the next thing I use once my current facial cleanser runs out. Next up is the Crown Brush Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush. Crown Brush is a brand I’ve heard about, but I usually like seeing makeup brushes in person before I place a purchase. Also, I already have a decent amount of makeup brushes that I’m not actively looking for more. This is a good way for me to try it out and assess for future makeup brush purchases. Next item I plucked out of the bag is the Pacifica Natural Water-Proof Eye Pencil. The shade I got is called Gunmetal and it looks to be a pretty shade, but I just have too many eye pencils currently so I’m saving this up to pass it on to someone else that will put it to good use. The next item I pulled out is the Cailyn Art Touch Tinted Lip Gloss in Love Affair. As mentioned for months now, I have tons of lip glosses open so I’ll be saving this for my niece Jacey. This shade is right up her alley too. The last item in this month’s Glam Bag is the Mitchell and Peach Luxury Hand Cream. I’ve never heard of this brand and I think this is the first time I’m getting a hand cream from ipsy. This is the item I’m most excited to try out of everything I got. I’ll provide a full review once I’ve used it extensively.

Overall, a great Glam Bag but that’s mainly because I am so in love with the makeup bag this month. Just when I thought things were starting to fall into a plateau with my ipsy subscription….this month totally got me excited to see what next month’s bag brings!

Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion

So I’ve been away for a good number of days starting last week and one of my favorite packing rituals is figuring out what to bring with me in the beauty and skincare department. I didn’t pack any makeup at all with the exception of face powder (which I only used once). What I was more concerned about was definitely in the skincare department. I packed a few items with SPF 30 or higher as I anticipated us being out in the sun and I was figuring out what night face moisturizer to pack when I saw the small tube of Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion from my ipsy January 2014 Glam Bag. It was the perfect size to take when traveling and now here are my thoughts on this.

Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion

What I love about this product? The scent is very light and smells of rose and something else. It actually makes me think that it’s a fruity smell, but I can’t quite nail it down to what it exactly is. The formula is what is expected from a face lotion. It’s not thick and spreads really easily to be absorbed by the face. A small amount is enough to cover my whole face. In the 4 nights that I’ve used this product, it worked as expected I would say. I’ve switched back to what I’ve been using on a regular basis once I got home and I’m glad I did. I started getting small bumps on my cheeks and realized that it could’ve been the face lotion as it contains shea butter. I have always been sensitive to products with refined shea butter and most companies use this because of the color (refined is white compared to unrefined that is more of a cream color in my experience). I’m not sure if this is the cause of my semi-breakout on the cheeks, but I’ve stopped using it just in case. Now if you don’t have any sensitivity to shea butter then this should be of no concern at all to you in that aspect.

What I don’t like about this product? If I have to be extremely picky, the fact that this has no SPF and the scent. The scent didn’t bother me at all when I sniff it from the tube, but when I applied it onto my face I actually thought about removing it (and I almost did). I didn’t mind the scent when it wasn’t on my face. This is just a personal preference though. As for the SPF, any day moisturizer I use on my face has to have SPF. So this is only an option for me to use at night.
