Ho, ho, ho! How are y’all doing with your holiday shopping? I hope you all find what you’re looking for with ease. I got this in a few days ago but didn’t get around to posting until now. Here’s what I got in my ipsy December 2018 Glam Bag.
I actually like the bag for this month eve though I feel overall it’s a little flimsy. It’s perfect for the holiday season and I do love shiny things. First item that caught my eye is the Murad Renewing Eye Cream. I am familiar with this brand and I’ve been running low on eye creams so this is a good one for me to try soon. Next we have the Lottie London AM to PM Kohl Eyeliner Pencil. The shade I got this in is Black. Some other ipsters got Mocha. Then we have the F.A.R.A.H Brushes Tapered Blending Brush 35E. I have to retake the quiz again as I keep getting these makeup brushes when I have no use for them since I already have enough. The good news is my niece will benefit from this predicament as she’s really into makeup now, so I tossed this into a makeup bag filled with makeup extra goodies for her. Next up is the Benefit Cosmetics POREfessional Primer. I don’t use makeup primers much but have been stashing some over the years to test with to compare quality and effectiveness. Then we have The Beauty Crop Lip Brulee. The shade everyone got is called Rhubarb Custard. I thought this has a matte velvet finish but I looked it up and saw that it actually has a shine to it. Still, it looks like more of a lip stain than a lip gloss to me. Last up is the Hey Honey Relax! Propolis & Honey Soothing Cream. It says it’s good for sensitive skin so I anticipate no problems when trying this out as soon as I run out of my current facial moisturizer.
I liked most of what I got so here’s to hoping the bags in 2019 will keep up this trend!
Hey guys! It’s Fri-YAY! Today’s post is on a product I got from my ipsy May 2018 Glam Bag. I ran out of facial serum one day and looked at my stash to see what I have. Even though I got it a while back, it’s brand new and sealed so I gave it a go. Here’s my thoughts on the Onomie Powerful Priming Serum.
Stated from their website:
- An antioxidant-packed serum and makeup primer in one
This serum-meets-primer replenishes the skin, boosts radiance, and evens tone and texture, while priming skin for makeup application. Infused with Daisy Flower Extract to brighten and even skin tone, Blackjack Botanical to increase collagen production and Willowbark Extract to encourage cell turnover, our P.P.S. is clinically proven to bring a visible improvement to skin’s tone and texture. Used daily, our Powerful Priming Serum leaves skin healthier – with or without makeup.
What I love about this product? It is both a facial serum and makeup primer. I don’t use makeup primer much or have experience in them really so this review is more on as a facial serum. The 2-in-1 aspect might be a motivating factor to purchase for some. A little goes a long way and I don’t mind the texture of the product. It is slightly more viscous than I thought but that’s no problem as long as the application is seamless with it, which it is. I feel like this does moisturize my skin but it also has fine shimmer in it. I do believe it makes my face look brighter and better due to that so I saved it for use in the facial serum step during the AM only (I used another one for that step during PM). Some might not like the fine shimmer, which is not expected from a facial serum but I think it’s more prevalent in makeup primers. It gives your face an iridescent glow when under light.
What I don’t like about this product? Because that this is a 2-in-1 product, I feel that it falls a bit short as a facial serum. It is not bad, but it’s not great. It’s only okay and that doesn’t warrant any thought of repurchase in my book.
More information on this item and other products the brand carries is available on their website here.
A little late again but better late than never! Ever since I started Pokemon Go from scratch last week, all my free time has been devoted to it. I finished with the Articuno raid with my co-worker friend Lohan and a bunch of his friends. I used all raid passes and I realized I have to get used to being in raids more (I forgot to use the golden razz!!!). Anyway, here’s what I got in my ipsy June 2018 Glam Bag.
The bag I got is nice (ignore the fly on one of the products — the picture above was the best products group shot). It’s a material that will repel drops of water when it comes in contact. Very good to have those on hand. First item that caught my eye is the FORMULA 10.0.6 Three Times Sublime. I love face masks and this one is described on ipsy as “a cleanser, exfoliant, and face mask (yup, all three) that treats blemishes, removes blackheads, unclogs pores, and controls oil.” Next item that caught my eye is the MAKE UP FOR EVER STEP1 Skin Equalizer Primer. I’ll try it out to see how it smoothes out my large pores. Then we have the Dr. Lili Fan Probiotic Eye Repair Cream. I’ve has great experience using the Dr. Lili Fan Probiotic Recovery Cream so I have high hopes for this. Next we have the Kaleido Cosmetics Skin Blush. ipsy subscribers got this in either Prom Queen or Primadonna, which is what I got. Last up is the Estate Cosmetics Lip Icing. The shade I got is called Goodie.
Not bad again! Next month’s bag should be out in transit to me shortly and I can’t wait cause I saw what the makeup bag looks like and it looks really nice. I hope the material is nice too.
I know, I know…it’s October already! But I already took the pictures a while back and rather have them go to waste I’ll just make a quick post about it. Here’s what I got in my ipsy September 2017 Glam Bag.
The bag itself is pretty different from what I’ve come to expect from ipsy for years. I like how it’s edgy. First item that caught my eye is the NEOGEN Dermalogy White Truffle Serum in Oil Drop. I love trying out new facial serums. This is on my next to try as soon as I free up a spot for it in my facial care regimen. Next is Ciaté London Wonderwand Mascara. The shade I got this in is called Black Magic. I think this is the only shade this particular product item comes in for now though. Then we have the Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Radiance Primer. I don’t use primer much but I do testing with it to compare how it fares with other primers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It’s just a “thing” of mine. Next we have the The Organic Pharmacy Double Rose Rejuvenating Face Cream. I’m finishing up something from Philosophy right now and I’ll make sure this is next or the one after the next face cream I use. Last up is Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Lip Gloss. The shade I got this in is Nude Beach. I got too many lip stuff open so I’ll add this to my gifting pile. It’s a nice shimmery shade with a gold duochrome flash.
Overall, pretty good. There’s a lot of stuff I will be using in this month’s bag.
I got this in yesterday and am very excited to share it with you guys. Here’s what I got with my ipsy September 2016 Glam Bag.
The bag is made out of a denim type of material I think. It’s actually very neat looking and has an edgy look for Fall. The first item up is the Onomie Powerful Priming Serum. The shade I got is called Truth. I ran out of the serum I was using a few months ago so I switched my facial skincare regimen a bit. Now I think it’s time to reintroduce it back! 🙂 Next up is the Eva NYC Forget Me Knot Dry Conditioner. This one strikes me both as interesting and gimmicky. I am familiar with dry shampoos but dry conditioner? Really? I’ll definitely be trying this out and reviewing this so keep your eyes peeled for it. Then we have the Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Tonic. This brand is on the higher end of what I usually go for and after using Korean skincare products I am more open to using items such as this tonic. I’ll put this to the test for the added moisture part since I don’t really use makeup and can’t test it to set makeup. Then we have BelláPierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush. The shade I got is in Autumn Glow. I have too many blushes open already that I don’t even use so I’ll be throwing this in as an extra gift come holiday season. Lastly, we have Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme. This caught my eye immediately due to the pretty packaging. I don’t really have any use for this, but I’ve used lip plumpers before so you bet I’m trying this out and will be sharing with y’all my thoughts on it.
Overall, not bad. More keepers this time around it seems!
Hey guys! I got my ipsy bag a weeks ago or so but didn’t get around to posting about it until today. I’ve been very busy with work (still) that what time I have left I just go do other things that I enjoy to relax. Here’s what I got in my ipsy July 2016 Glam Bag.
First, the bag — HOLO?! Hell yeah! I LOVE it! I didn’t care for the print much but the holo goodness just stands out so I don’t mind at all. And it’s made out of the thicker material so this is now in rotation as my phone case (yes, I carry my phone in ipsy bags made of thicker material as it doesn’t have an actual real phone case). The first item that caught my eye is the theBalm Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow. The shade I got this in is called Matt Kumar and it’s described as a “matte cranberry”. I would’ve probably liked the other shade available sent to other ipsy subscribers called Matt Moskowitz. That one’s described as a “matte plum”. In general, I think plums would look better on me as an Asian than cranberry. But the packaging is so cute, as usual, and the name is catchy that I’m keeping this. I actually realized that I own more of theBalm products than I thought I did. Good brand for a decent price in my opinion. Next items that caught my eye are the SHRAY face masks. The ones I got are Ms. Amazing & Queen Bee. I have been slacking off in using face masks that I was just reminded of that with these. I’m going to make an effort again to use them including these 2. Then we have the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. I’m excited to receive this as I’ve been testing different makeup primers for the past few years now and didn’t have one from Too Faced on hand to test. Next up is the Vasanti Contour Eyeshadow Brush. Well, I definitely did NOT need more makeup brushes in general and I’ve retaken the ipsy quiz to indicate that but whatever. The rest of what I got was good so I’ll just put this in the extra gifts makeup pile for others. Last up is the Not Soap, Radio joy inducing hand/body lotion. I looked up this brand as I couldn’t really tell if it had more than one line of products with different scents or not and discovered that the hand and body lotion I got fell under their Be Happy category on the website. I like the scent of lemons and sugar so I think this might be the one to keep an eye on. It brings me back to when I was a huge fan of the C.O. Bigelow Lemon Sugar Body Scrub (discontinued now if I’m not mistaken).
With the exception of the makeup brush, I’m loving everything I got! Can’t wait for next month now!
Hey guys! This week was super hectic. I even worked some today and it’s a Saturday! Hopefully it’ll be over soon. It just makes me look forward to my upcoming staycation even more. I was sent this recently. It was a total surprise really! I just got the package one day — so thank you Borghese! There will be detailed reviews on each product as time goes on but for now, here’s what you get with the Borghese 9-piece Skincare + Color Collection Set.
This set is currently available still on their website and is on sale! The sale price is actually a very good deal that I would’ve taken advantage of if the set I have wasn’t sent to me. The item I am most excited about in this set is surprisingly the palette. The only makeup item I’ve used from Borghese is their nail polish and I love their formula and colors. But other than that, I know the brand more for their skin care products. The lipcolor is in the shade Grappa while the lip glosses are in shades Spark and Simmer. The eye liner is in the shade Pitch Black. Enough yappin’ here and let’s get to the goods.
Direct link to this set is located here. Honestly, I would’ve asked for this for Christmas or treated myself to it if I wasn’t sent this set.

While I I loved most of the items from the Target Head Of The Class 2015 Beauty Box, I couldn’t resist getting this one as well. Here’s the Target Honor Roll 2015 Beauty Box.
Everything came in a black reusable sturdy cardboard box. For $5, again, you really can’t go wrong. I almost didn’t get it (just like the Head Of The Class beauty box released at the same time) and I’m glad that I did.
I gave the elastics from the other box away so I’m keeping this one of myself. The item I am most excited to try is the John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume In-Shower Treatment. The first item I opened and used is the NYX Butter Gloss. The shade I got is Strawberry Parfait. I’ve been using a bath mitt for a while now so a bath pouf (they call it sponge but I call those things poufs) would be nice for a change. I actually think I’ll be using every single thing in this box. All in all, I like this beauty box better and as usual it does come with a $3 off $15 coupon on beauty items to use at Target.
Hey guys! The weather got dreary again with the rain. It’s nice after the short but very hot few days we have here in Oklahoma. I’ve got a chance to sneak in some pictures though before this rainy weather started. Here’s what I got in my ipsy June 2015 Glam Bag.
I didn’t really care for the bag this month but I do find the material interesting. First item that caught my eye is the bulkiest one of the 5: SheaMoisture Shea Butter Lip Crayon. The shade I got is Sarah, which looks bright fuchsia to me right off the bat. I was thinking of giving this away just because I have so many lip products open at the moment but we’ll see. Next item I fished out is the tre’StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon. I got this shade in Aspen Pine. I’m definitely passing this one on as I am trying to trim down my current makeup stash. Then we have dr. brandt® pores no more® vacuum cleaner. I’m eager to try this product out as it deals with pores and I have pretty large pores. Next I got Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Foundation Primer. I’m debating on keeping this one because I’m always searching for a good makeup primer just for my own reference really. I’m curious which brand of makeup primer will perform the best at a good price point. Last item is the Pure Brazilian Miracle Leave-In Conditioner. Hair conditioning item? Sign me up. I’ll be putting this to the test the next few weeks.
Overall, last month’s was better unfortunately. I hope it picks up again because I’m debating on signing up for another subscription service instead of this one actually. Any recommendations?
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I didn’t do much really — just got caught up with all the household chores and went to 2 different Bath & Body Works to get the pocketbacs I wanted. One of my favorites is Hey Honeybun and only of the stores had it so we ended up going to 2 of them. I’m already looking forward to this weekend just to get the regular week chores knocked out of the way so I can relax. Today’s post is a review on something I got from my ipsy April 2015 Glam Bag. It was the perfect size to give it a whirl for a complete review in a few weeks. Here’s Hey Honey Good Morning: Honey Silk Facial Serum.
What I love about this product? The scent is relatively light and smells pleasant. I do detect the smell of honey but it’s light. There’s something else in it that I can’t quite put my finger on. I know that dogs seem to notice it as they love licking my face when I have this on. This serum is comparable to a slightly more watery face moisturizer to me. It spreads very easily and doesn’t take too long to fully absorb into my skin. The feeling it leaves on my skin is best described as what I feel if I apply makeup primer on. I makes my skin so soft and smooth. I’ve used this for about 3 weeks now and I like it. I use it in the mornings only, but it does recommend to be used both day and night either by itself or under your day or night cream.
What I don’t like about this product? If I have to be extremely picky, the fact that this has no SPF and the price. I think making this with SPF protection would be justified for the price it’s being sold at. $41 for an ounce (description on website says 1.2 oz but the product shot shows 1 oz) seems pricey. You definitely could try justifying it as being both a makeup primer and moisturizer.
This item is available on their online store here.
“Long time no see Influenster!” is what I literally said to myself (again!) when I got this in the mail. I was very surprised when I got an email that I qualified for it because it’s been so long! The Influenster Blossom VoxBox 2015 contains various items that is not targeted in any specific department such as beauty or wellness. It’s a mix of things and I’m very excited to cover them all in future posts. Here are the contents of the box:
The Nasoya item is happily sitting in the fridge right now and I passed one of the Bear Naked goodies to my husband to snack on. The Clairol Hair Food Root Cleansing Shampoo has been in use for the past few days now. I can tell you as early as now that I’m quite impressed with that one. More details to come in the next few days!
*Products featured here are received complimentary to test through Influenster’s VoxBox program.*
Hey guys! I’m sure most of you know about the Freeman Beauty Mystery Bag that went live a few days ago. I got the email and even saw it posted on my IG by a few beauty bloggers I know. I hemmed and hawed but only for a little bit before taking the plunge. This shipped out the same day I placed the order. Upon inspection when I opened everything, I noticed that something seems to be missing so I compared it to what I know someone else has gotten in their shipment as seen on Nouveau Cheap’s site here. Now this is everything that came with mine:
My order comes with an extra travel size dry shampoo cause of the code WELCOME but notice that everything else I got is the same….with the exception that I’m short 8 sachet items. Here is the breakdown of my Mystery Bag:
Pssst! Instant Dry Shampoo Travel Size (not counting this since this is in addition to the Mystery Bag) – FREE
c. Booth Milk Bath & Shower Cleanser – $6.99
Pssst! Instant Dry Shampoo for Wavy or Curly Hair – $6.99
Feeling Beautiful Acai Facial Purifying Clay Mask – $3.99
Feeling Beautiful Chocolate & Strawberry Facial Clay Mask – $3.99
Bare Foot Spa Professional Moisturizing Massage Cream – $5.99
Barefoot Repair Overnight Foot Cream – $6.99
Eclos Plant Stem Cells Super Concentrate Night Booster Fluid (can’t find this anywhere except going for $19.50 on Amazon right now) – $19.50
Eclos Daily Hydra Primer SPF30 – $15.99
Vita-K Professionals Deep Facial Lines – $14.99
Travel size sachets (6 since 1 is my freebie with my order) – $1.99 x 6 = $11.94
TOTAL RETAIL VALUE OF MYSTERY BOX: $97.36
I emailed them to inquire if I am indeed missing some items since I got exactly the same things as what is seen from someone else (less 8 sachets). I just wanted to know since other people might be expecting to get X amount and only got Y amount (like what happened to me). I thought about several different scenarios that could’ve happened such as they mistakenly left 8 travel size sachets out of my order or they somehow mistakenly counted my free travel size dry shampoo offer against my Mystery Bag to everyone simply may just get more or less since their offer is “valued up to $100”. I held off buying another Mystery Bag because I was curious to see what the response was. It’s not a hill to die on whether I get the 8 sachets or not, but I want to know the reason behind it and that says a lot about companies. I just got a response this morning and it points to a scenario I didn’t even think of! Here is what they said:
Thank you for contacting Freeman Beauty.
Our apologies for any misunderstanding with the offer, as please know that is the “mystery” with this promotion, and as our email blast states towards the bottom of the special:
“Some bags include a mystery treat for feet…will your bag be one of them?”
Thank you for your inquiry and for your patronage, and again our apologies for any misunderstanding with the promotion.
So this response leads me to believe that the extra items that someone else got was a mystery treat for feet. Looking back at G’s post of what someone else got, seems to make sense since the missing sachets are mostly for the feet (only 1 of what I got is for the feet…the rectangular sachet). I just made a search online to see if someone else has gotten their Mystery Bag and looks like Beauty Hoard got hers too here and it’s exactly the same as mine (except for my free trial size dry shampoo). And looks like someone else got what I got (again, minus the travel size dry shampoo) and emailed them too receiving the same response. You can see it if you follow this on Reddit here. Now the thing left in question is on their website right now it says “get mystery treat for feet while supplies last!” so does this mean the supply is all gone? Their email response to me states that some bags include it, so it’s different from “while supplies last”. But eh….this is something that will confuse some customers for sure.
So I didn’t get $100 worth of stuff, but it’s close to it. Was it worth it still since last year’s was only $20 and valued at over $90? The % of savings you get definitely went down, so if you look at it that way — no. But I’m about to place another order just to see if I get some other stuff (I’m hoping for more clay masks really). Here’s a look at some of last year’s Mystery Bag breakdown from Hello Pretty Bird! and Zadidoll (and again here since she got 2).
If you’ve ever wanted to try some items from Laura Geller, now is a good time if you have a HauteLook account and even better if you have enough things you want from this brand or another (hello, Stila!) to reach $100 for free shipping. I caved and placed an order 2 days ago. While I do wish there were more sets (more value and a nice mix), there was enough for me to hit the checkout. Here’s a few items that ended up in my cart:
I mentioned I love Laura Geller sets and that was one of the few that appealed to me. I love her baked stuff a lot, especially the marble ones so this ended up in my cart as well:
I’ve been wanting this eyeshadow duo for about a month now. I love Rome/Milan that I got with my Beauty Brands order and looked up online to see what other shades they have and this one was calling my name:
The one that almost made it into my cart but didn’t (because I could only justify adding one eyeshadow duo to my order and chose the one above instead):
And here’s something I would’ve gotten if I didn’t end up getting some stuff already from this set:
My experience with her products has so far been really good. It actually surpassed another brand in terms of what I’m looking for (something that doesn’t make me feel like I have makeup on at all, but not that I’m not looking for full coverage or anything like that really). I didn’t want to chance what I like selling out by waiting for the Stila event (went live a few hours ago) but looks like I’m not missing much at all. This ends tomorrow at 8 AM Pacific so grab whatever you want before that!
Hey guys! I got my ipsy March Glam Bag not too long ago. I’ll keep this short and sweet cause I’m in a rush. Here’s what I got with my ipsy March 2014 Glam Bag.
So last month’s Glam Bag was the worst I’ve ever gotten. This month’s the exact opposite. Content-wise, this is the best Glam Bag I’ve received to date. I’m keeping all of the items I got. The first one that caught my eye is the Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow Quad. The quad I got is called Bora Bora. The colors are vibrant and almost jewel toned (I included the photo with flash since it shows the jewel toned aspect more). It really drew me in and I knew the moment I saw it that I’m keeping it (and I didn’t have to with all the makeup I already own!). I haven’t tried it yet, but you bet that a review is coming up on this down the road. In fact, go on their website to look what other quads they have. I have my eye on Barcelona next! Next up is the Pixi Beauty Flawless Beauty Primer. I haven’t used that many makeup primers, so this would be a good one to try and compare with the ones I already own. I don’t use it much, but when I do it makes a difference on how long my makeup lasts. It’s more of a “nice to have” type of makeup item in my opinion. Now, y’all know I already own tons of nail polish. Well, I didn’t have any from Nicole By OPI’s new Roughles line. The shade I got is called On What Grounds? and it came just in time for Easter! It’s a mint shade with the texture of what the Rougles line is known for. The speckled look does go with Easter too and this shade is a pastel green mint. I’m keeping this just because it suits the occasion. Last up is the bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie™ Lipstick in Get Ready. I originally was going to keep this for myself, but being that I already have tons of lipsticks open I opted to save this for my mom. She’s coming to my wedding and I’ve already accumulated a ton of stuff for her that she’ll have to sift through. I don’t think she can bring a good number of them, but I remember her asking me about those makeup minis. I didn’t care for this months makeup bag although I thought it’s cool that it features an artist and it’s made of a waterproof-like material (not sure if it is, but it is compared to some of the materials the other bags were made of).
Overall, can’t complain. This is the first bag where I’m keeping everything! Now I can’t wait for next month’s bag.
