ipsy April 2016 Glam Bag

Hey guys! We got some good rain the past few days with a warm Spring this year. I’ve been very busy with stuff related to my 2 best girlfriends that I consider as my sisters so it’s been relatively slow here. But I do intend to pick things up soon! This arrived in my mailbox a few days ago and I was going to blog about it yesterday but I had to go to one of their birthday parties. It’s a special one cause her parents, brother and aunt flew in from India for her upcoming wedding in a few days. She hasn’t been with them for any of her birthdays in a good number of years. They’re the absolute sweetest people ever! I can’t wait to see them again in a few days. Anyway, here’s what I got in my ipsy April 2016 Glam Bag.

ipsy April 2016 Glam Bag

I knew after getting last month’s bag, this one most likely isn’t going to be as great. Last month’s makeup bag was just so, so pretty! This one’s not bad but it certainly didn’t have the wow factor that I got from last month’s makeup bag. Anyway, first item that caught my eye is the pur~lisse Beauty Blue Lotus + White Tea Sheet Mask and Blue Lotus + Seaweed Sheet Mask. I originally thought that I got 2 of the same thing but it’s actually 2 different ones. I LOVE face masks and actually have a ton of them that I’ll be blogging about eventually — so naturally I can’t wait to try these out. I have tried an item or 2 from this brand and while it didn’t blow me away it performed as expected. Next up is the City Color Cosmetics Highlight Trio. While I think this is an awesome palette, I’ll be giving this away as an extra gift item to one of my nieces probably. I have enough highlighters AND I don’t even use any of them! Then we have my favorite item from this month’s bag: Tarte LipSurgence™ Lip Crème. The shade I got is called Wonder. I don’t have this shade and I’m definitely keeping this one. I love Tarte products — their products are of good quality in my opinion. I have to retake the quiz again cause I keep getting makeup brushes and I don’t really need more. I don’t even use anything that requires a makeup brush really. I got the Luxie Beauty Dreamcatcher Tapered Highlighter Brush 522. The bristles are so soft though and I’ve read that people love it. I’ll set it aside as an extra item in a beauty gift bag for someone. Last up is the Adesse New York Organic Infused Gel Effect Nail Lacquer. The shade I got is called Irina. It’s a gel polish, no need for base coat it says and it won’t stain your nails. I might keep this but it’s not really a shade I usually go for, so we’ll see.

Overall, not bad but I hope next month’s makeup bag is cuter than this. I do like the shape and size of it though as it holds my phone and cards in it. I find that very handy.

Sally Hansen Rum Punch

Hey guys! This has been quite a relaxing few days due to Thanksgiving. I did partake in minor after Thanksgiving shopping online but one of the retailers pretty much ended being a bust for me as I can’t check out with any form of payment. Here’s a shade from Sally Hansen’s Poolside Paradise Collection earlier this summer in their Miracle Gel line: Rum Punch.

Sally Hansen Rum Punch

Rum Punch is a pretty bright pink shade. It is described as a “our #1 pedicure pick: a super-saturated, on-trend deep pink”. It has a super glossy finish but required more than 2 coats for opacity. Shown is 3 coats with one coat of their Miracle Gel top coat.

I see a lot of shades being year-round and this one falls into that category. I’ll be sporting this on my toes fairly soon.

Sally Hansen Style Maker

Hey guys! It’s a short week for many of us here due to Thanksgiving. I’m looking forward to just kicking back a little and staying warm. The weather has cooled considerably that the heater is finally on! Here’s another shade from Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel line: Style Maker.

Sally Hansen Style Maker

Style Maker is such a pretty vibrant shade that’s perfect year-round. It’s a pretty jewel tone green to me. Formula is sheerer than I thought though. Shown is 4 coats with one coat of their Miracle Gel top coat.

It’s not quite the festive green for the holiday season but I love this shade of green a lot. Keeper for sure!

Sally Hansen Spice Age

Hey guys! This is a new week and I’m glad that’s it’s flying by fast. I’m looking forward to having lunch tomorrow at this nifty shop that carries all sorts of cheese with my co-worker sis and a developer on my team. Here’s another shade from Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel line: Spice Age.

Sally Hansen Spice Age

Spice Age is such a pretty shade suited for Fall. It makes me think of things like cinnamon and spice. It is described as a “shimmering chocolate brown”. The formula is beautiful yielding a lovely application. Shown is 2 coats with one coat of their Miracle Gel top coat.

I think I’m going to wear this for Thanksgiving. It’s such a perfect shade!

ipsy October 2015 Glam Bag

Hey guys! I was very surprised how fast I got this month’s bag. It was in the mailbox yesterday when my husband checked. Here’s what I got in my ipsy October 2015 Glam Bag.

ipsy October 2015 Glam Bag

First off, while I’m not in love with the bag….I still like it. I love the fact that it’s gold. The other side is in black patent. First item that caught my eye is the Emité Make Up Professional Slant Tweezer. I’ve been due for a new one so this might be a good contender. Next up is Nourish Organic Pure Hydrating Argan Face Serum. I’ve used a product from this brand before so I’m open to trying this one out. I hope the scent isn’t the same as even though the product I did try said it’s unscented….the scent made me gag slightly. Then we have the AURORA Gel Effect Nail Polish. The shade everyone who got this is their bag is Inky Dinky. I’m not sure if I’m keeping this yet but I may just to compare how it fares to other brands. Next is the Beauty Without Cruelty Fragrance Free Hand and Body Lotion. Last thing I need right now is more hand and body lotion since I have a ton from Bath & Body Works. I’ll probably have this as an additional gift to someone eventually. Last item is theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick. The shade that everyone who got this item in their bag is Committed.

Overall, I’m most excited about the item from theBalm and I actually laughed at the name of the product (they’re pretty good and cute at naming their stuff!).
