Walmart Spring 2017 Beauty Box

So I actually almost forgot I have this beauty box subscription until an email asked if I wanted to switch it up for something special or stay with whatever setting I have already made in my account. I didn’t want to mess with it so I opted to just stay with my current setting. This popped in my mailbox about a week ago. Here’s what I got in my Walmart Spring 2017 Beauty Box.

Overall, pretty good stuff. In fact, as soon as I saw the lip product I knew that I had to give it to my sister from another mister Renuky. 🙂 It became part of her flip book goodies, which by the way is so much fun to make and hers is the first one I’ve given out so far. I made one for her birthday. 🙂 The shade seems light enough to suit her especially with it being a lip gloss. The first thing I’m trying out is the whitening toothpaste as we’ve been using regular whitening toothpaste and I’m not really seeing any difference so it’s time to change it up!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Daily Nourishment Moisturizing Conditioner

Dove Advanced Care Cool Essentials Antiperspirant

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine

Biore Baking Soda Acne Scrub

Colgate Optic White Radiant Toothpaste

Schwarzkopf Gliss Ultra Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner

Stay tuned for reviews on most of these items!

ipsy February 2017 Glam Bag

What a month it’s been! Time sure flies by fast. It felt like the holidays were just here. I got this in earlier but I wasn’t too excited about it so I took my time in posting about it. Here’s my take on the ipsy February 2017 Glam Bag.

The bag is made of denim — not really my cup of tea but seems to be built pretty good even though it’s thin. First item that caught my eye is the NYX Butter Lipstick. The shade I got this in is called Ripe Berry. I LOVE this shade and have high hopes that it translates the same onto my lips. Next up is the True Botanicals Resurfacing Moisture Mask. I will be trying this out shortly so stay tuned for a blog post on my thoughts on it. The directions on how to use this seems pretty straightforward: “Massage on dry skin (yep, dry), leave on for two to five minutes, then just wipe off with a damp washcloth (no need to rinse). We like using it twice a week before bedtime.” Then we have Lord & Berry Eye Pencil. The shade I got this in is Black. This is a nice small-sized eye pencil that I can take with me even when I’m only carrying the bare minimum. I can’t wait to try this out! Next we have MARSK Mineral Eyeshadow. The shade I got this in is called You’re Toast. It looks to be a pretty gold shade. Last up is The Organic Pharmacy Lip & Eye Cream. This item made me think about it a lot. The skin around the eye and the lips are quite different so I’m having a hard time seeing how a product can effectively affect both areas BUT I’ll try it out and share my thoughts on it here later on.

Overall, eh….I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. I was expecting more out of the makeup bag itself as February is Valentine’s Day but I think they just didn’t go with the Valentine’s theme this time around. That’s cool….I can’t wait to see next month’s bag now! I actually see it on the website right now and it looks so cute and chic!

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Pink Grapefruit Exfoliating Scrub

Hey guys! It’s the start of my weekend already! YAY! Turns out that I can’t roll over more than 7.5 vacation days into next year so that means I get to use the rest up so I took tomorrow and Friday off! Hopefully this will give me a chance to catch up by taking pictures for newer blog entries. Here’s my take on the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Pink Grapefruit Exfoliating Scrub.

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Pink Grapefruit Exfoliating Scrub

What I love about this product? It comes in a nice tube packaging so I can squeeze out how much I want to use very easily. The texture of this is gel like in appearance, lightly pink and it has tiny crystal bits for scrubbiness. The scent is of pink grapefruit (I can smell the tartness too!) and while it leans on the stronger side when in use, it dissipates once it’s off your face. It is very gentle on the skin — perfect for those with sensitive skin. I don’t find this to be drying at all and it leaves my skin refreshingly clean.

What I don’t like about this product? It’s too light, too gentle for me as a facial scrub but that’s a personal preference.

Walmart Summer 2016 Beauty Box

I got my Walmart Summer 2016 Beauty Box in about 2 weeks ago. I was fairly pleased with what I got for $5.

Walmart Summer 2016 Beauty Box

I’ve seen a few boxes where the polish strips are of a different print but everything else is the same. I’m eager to try out the toothpaste in this set. I must say I’m a little bit tired of seeing the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs again. It keeps popping up in various beauty boxes.

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs

Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Lotion

Incoco Coconut Nail Art Polish Strips

ARM & HAMMER Truly Radiant Clean & Fresh Toothpaste

Schwarzkopf essence ULTĂŽME Diamond Color & Radiance Shampoo & Conditioner

Lady Gaga Fame Perfume Sample

Not bad overall. Still a great deal for the price in my opinion.

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Pineapple Enzyme Mask

Hey guys! I’ve been very busy with work and getting ready for the wedding of a co-worker friend that’s like a sister to me. More wedding festivities are happening tomorrow after last weekend’s birthday party of the bride-to-be and a trial run for makeup earlier in the week. I’ve kicked up my beauty regimen in hopes of looking decent for the wedding so I’ve been using some face masks every few days. Here’s my take on the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Pineapple Enzyme Mask.

Freeman Feeling Beautiful Pineapple Enzyme Mask

What I love about this product? It comes in the typical tube packaging for face scrubs. This promotes ease of application and use. Being that the packaging does mention it to be exfoliating, I wasn’t expecting it to be like a mud mask. I find the texture of this is similar to the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Mask. It’s not as gloopy and “chunky” than the charcoal and black sugar one (I think the grains are finer). Those that have used both will know what I’m talking about. I was able to apply a thin layer of this over my entire face (thinner than the charcoal and black sugar one — so it’s easier in terms of application). The scent is kind of light to me and it’s basically juicy pineapples. It’s a little artificial but not overly fake or sickeningly sweet. I left this on my face for a good 30 minutes every time I use this. It will dry some but definitely not as much as a mud mask. I then proceed to rinse it off with warm water with massaging motions over my face. I liked the level of exfoliation this brings. This doesn’t dry out my skin at all and my face is left feeling very, very soft and smooth. The scent doesn’t really linger much after that.

What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really. I like this better than the charcoal and black sugar one as a face mask — even though it really isn’t quite a face mask in the traditional sense I’m familiar with still.
