Hey guys! I got my ipsy bag a few days ago but didn’t get around to posting about it until today. I’ve been very busy with work and with snail mailing these days that I had to put some things off. Here’s what I got in my ipsy June 2016 Glam Bag.
This month’s makeup bag is actually in a print that I don’t really care for but I’m drawn to it a lot. And when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. Like….I actually LOVE this print. Go figure. It’s bright, bold and cute that I surprisingly fell in love with it. The first item that caught my eye is the ColourPop Cosmetics Crème Gel Liner. The shade I got this in is called Swerve. It looks to be a black shade. I’m toying with the idea of keeping it but we’ll see. I don’t use makeup that much to begin with and I use it even less now than compared to a year ago. Next item that caught my eye is the Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Cheeks Blush. While I like these sample size makeup items, I already own too many blushes for my own good so I’m looking to passing this onto someone else that will put it to good use. The nice tube packaging item turned out to be Hey Honey 24Seven: Day & Night Moisturizing Cream. I’m excited about this one as I’m constantly trying to find something better than what I’m currently using for a facial cream/moisturizer. Next up is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow. The shade I got is called Lounge. Lounge is one of the prettiest duochrome eye shadow shades I’ve ever owned. I think this one’s a keeper even when I don’t wear eyeshadow at all. I’ll use it randomly when I feel like it. Last up is the frank body Original Coffee Scrub. I find this product interesting and can’t wait to try it out. I just have concerns with clogging up the shower plumbing. I’ll definitely blog about this one later on.
I love this month’s bag that I can’t wait to see the design for next month! They’ve been churning out good ones lately.
Hey guys! I really didn’t care for last month’s bag that much so I didn’t even bother blogging about it. I got this month’s bag a few days ago and it’s more exciting, so I went ahead and snapped some pictures to share my thoughts with you here. Here’s what I got in my ipsy December 2015 Glam Bag.
First — the bag….I’m not in love with it but I’m digging it still. The red patent quilted pattern is quite cute and I actually like that it provides more waterproof protection than a regular fabric bag. First item that caught my eye is the Pacifica Power Of Love Natural Lipstick. The shade I got is called Tender Heart. It’s a little bit mave-ish to me on first look so I thought I’ll try it out. Next up is Tarte Smooth Operator™ Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder. I don’t use finishing powders really and actually already own this. With that said, I’ll either stash this away for an extra in a gift or just keep a backup if I really end up liking it. Then we have the Marc Anthony Coconut Oil & Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Treatment. I’m very eager to try this out as I’m always on the lookout for hair conditioning products. It comes with the territory of long hair I think. Next is the Skinn Sugar Lips Polishing Scrub – For Dry & Lined Lips. I want to see how this fares against similar items I’ve used in the past. Last item is Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Shadow Primer. I’m adding this to my pile of primers that I use to test in search of a Holy Grail primer.
Overall, not bad. I’m actually keeping all of these items it seems. It’s been a long time I got an ipsy bag with that kind of record!
Hey guys! It’s getting colder every single day. For my sanity, the tree is up and half of the presents are all wrapped and stuck under the tree. Yes, a reindeer died cause of that but guess what? I won’t have time to put up the tree after Thanksgiving. I just wanted it out of the way. I’m waiting for more stuff to come in to wrap them up when I stumbled upon another problem — I ran out of wrapping paper. Oh! How did this ever happen?! I have hundreds of ribbons and bows but no wrapping paper. I’m guessing I didn’t see it as a high priority item when I shopped from the after Christmas sales last year and I should’ve. Lesson learned. So with that happening, I had time in my hands to take a few pictures of what I got in my ipsy November 2014 Glam Bag.
The first item that caught my eye is the Elizabeth Mott you’re so FINE Eyeliner. The shade I got is Glitterati. The packaging caught my eye and while I’m eager to try this out, I have many products already in this category so I’ll toss this as an add-on to a Christmas gift for one of my nieces. Next item up is the TEMPTU S/B Highlighter. The packaging makes me think of baby milk bottles — it’s so cute! The shade I got is Pink Pearl. I have used highlighters before just to see how it works and I’ll be sure to try this one out. Then we have L.A. Colors Chunky Lip Pencil. The shade I got is Wine. I saw this and immediately thought of my niece that loves lip products, so I’ll be saving this one up for her. The consistency is said to be between a lipstick and a lip gloss, which reminds me of the Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain. I wasn’t too happy when I saw that I got the Demeter Pixie Dust Roll On Perfume Oil. While I loved some of their scents, they usually give me a headache shortly after application. I’ll save this one up for an extra in a gift or something. The last item in my bag is my favorite out of everything I got this month. I got the Nicole by OPI Nail Polish in Guys & Galaxies, which is an ipsy exclusive shade. I love this shade! It’s glitter and very pretty. The bag this month is a cute silver glitter zip top made by clothing and accessories brand Forever21 for ipsy. Material is like a plastic coated type where liquids roll of easily — a bonus feature to me.
While this bag has been the most disappointing one in months I’m still a huge fan of ipsy. I mean, I did like some of the products I got and it’s just a matter of what I can use more sometimes. This month’s offering just doesn’t apply to me as much, but with such great bags for months now….I can’t really get mad at ipsy for missing the mark in terms of personalization with this one. I can’t wait now for next month’s bag!
Hey guys! I got my ipsy April Glam Bag the day before my parents came to town, so I haven’t gotten to it until now. I did like a lot of the things on first glance and end up keeping them. Here’s what I got with my ipsy April 2014 Glam Bag.
I actually liked every single thing I got with this month’s Glam Bag. The only thing I might pass on is the lip balm and maybe the eye shadow. The Elizabeth Mott pop! goes the shadow looks so beautiful. The shade I got is Champagne and it looks like it would work well both as an eye shadow and highlighter. I’m not going to swatch this one until I’m sure that I want to keep this. I might gift it to one of my husband’s nieces (wait, that makes them my nieces as well right?!). I’m definitely keeping the Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil in Black Velvet. I own lots of UD 24/7 eye pencils and most of them are actually travel sized ones that I’d get during ULTA’s after Holiday sale. Eye liner is one of the few makeup items I’d first reach for, so I’ll get good use out of this one. The Cailyn Tinted Lip Balm I got is in the shade of Apple Pink. I think it might look okay on me. I know that my husband tends to like more natural looking shades on me as opposed to a bright red or pink. But I do have a ton of lip products already, so I’m not sure if I want to commit to this or not. The dr. brandt® Microdermabrasion is definitely a keeper as I’m into this type of facial care products these days. Another definite keeper is the Demeter Jasmine Perfume Oil Roll On. I LOVE Jasmine. It’s my favorite floral scent. This one has a teeny bit of artificial smell to it, but it’s still jasmine to the core. I thought this month’s makeup bag looks really cool, but I’ll be passing it on to someone else that can give it more love.
Overall, great bag as it did not disappoint! I hope this keeps on with the next bags I’m getting.
Hey guys! It’s been a while! I’ve been trying to finalize my wedding venue and catering these past few days. We almost were about to sign with one venue when another venue that hasn’t gotten back to me finally did and it was my preferred venue when I take into consideration my out-of-town guests. They’re sending over the contract today, so I’m hoping this is it! There’s nothing much happening that’s new in terms of beauty with me recently with the exception of some of Milani 2014 landing at my doorstep. Reviews on those will be coming in soon! For now, read on for my take on the ipsy January 2014 Glam Bag.
The first glam bag of the year! They have hit it out of the park with their recent bags that for once I’m glad I don’t like this one as much (just the bag itself and not the contents)! I know, I know….but if I liked the actual bag a lot every single time, I’d end up with 12 from my annual subscription! Lord knows I don’t need more bags! So I’ll be gladly passing this cute cosmetic bag on to someone else. The products that I got for this month definitely got me excited with the exception of one. The product I was most excited about is the Nourish Organic Lightweight Moisturizing Face Lotion. This is a new-to-me brand and a product that is more on skincare than makeup. It got mixed reviews, so we’ll see when I do try it. The one I don’t care about the most is MicaBeauty 24 Hour Tinted Lip Balm. It’s nothing against the brand or product, it’s just that I have a million lip glosses and balms already that I just don’t need another one. I’m going to set this aside for a giveaway or an extra in someone’s gift. The one that appealed to me the most packaging-wise is willa On The Go Face Towelettes. The packaging is so cute and whimsical. It caught my eye immediately. It’s definitely something I could use, but I’m saving it up for travel. It’s convenient and easy to use. Another item that I’m meh about is the Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow. I have lots of eye shadow products that I don’t need another one of these. Since I use lip products more, I keep more of those. I am pickier when it comes to eye color then. So this will be the other item I’ll pass on to someone else. The last item is one that I have used several times now and am loving it! Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner works wonders for my hair. My issue right now is that it gets really tangly with my daily activities. It smells good, keeps the tangles at bay and leaves my hair soft to the touch. A definite winner for me.
Overall, not bad but I’m definitely hoping for a bag with items I can all use next month!
