Curtain Call: Briogeo Rosarco Milk™ Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray

Hey guys! It’s almost the end of April. Time sure flies by fast! Easter came and went and so did my birthday and wedding anniversary. April is always a busy month for me filled with celebrations of my own or of my family members and friends. Today’s post is another edition of Curtain Call. I got this product from my ipsy May 2017 Glam Bag. I didn’t get a chance to try it until a little over a month ago. Here’s my take on the Briogeo Rosarco Milk™ Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk™ Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray

Stated from their website:

WHO IT’S FOR:
Those with dry, damaged, and brittle hair.

WHAT IT IS:
An ultra-lightweight leave-in conditioning spray fortified with a unique blend of nourishing rosehip, argan, and coconut oils.

WHAT IT DOES:
Infused with Briogeo’s signature blend of ultra-nourishing rosehip, argan and coconut oils, this milky blend effectively restores hair’s softness, strength, manageability, and moisture levels, while acting as a barrier against heat. Perfect for use on wet or dry hair, this non-greasy formula seals the hair cuticle to lock in moisture, restore luster, and diminish frizz without leaving behind product buildup. SAFE FOR: Color treated, keratin treated, chemically-treated, and relaxed hair.

SAFE FOR:
Color treated, keratin treated, chemically-treated, and relaxed hair.

What I love about this product? It’s easy to use and pretty straightforward. I like how they came up with the name of the brand (ROSehip, ARgan & COconut oils) — very unique and creative! I does seem to help my hair be more manageable and more tangle-free but that’s about it. I used this almost everyday to every 3 days depending on if I have this on hand or one of my other go-to leave-in conditioning sprays. Priced at $20 for a 5 oz / 147 ml bottle, it is pretty affordable.

What I don’t like about this product? I am not a fan of the scent. It’s not putrid or offensive, it just falls into the family of scents I dislike. It’s not floral or what I would describe as a clean scent nor is it a musk or earthy. It’s closest to floral out of the 4 types of scents I mentioned but powdery maybe? There is a sharp note in it that makes me so glad I am at the last few spritzes of it. I don’t find this to be as effective in keeping my hair soft, manageable and tangle-free as the Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner or even Dove Hair Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Detangler. Plus, I prefer the scent of the other 2 products better.

ipsy May 2017 Glam Bag

Hey y’all! How as this month for you guys? It just flew right on by for me. I know I didn’t get to post much but better late than never! Here’s my take on the ipsy May 2017 Glam Bag.

ipsy May 2017 Glam Bag

The bag is very cute and useful for summer! It’s the perfect size to toss in summer essentials like sunscreen, hair ties and lip balm. First item that caught my eye is the Briogeo Rosarco Milk™ Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray. I’m really into leave-in conditioners during the summer season especially if I’m swimming a lot. Next up is the IT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara. I have a lot of mascaras open right now but I’ll save it for later. The shade I got this in is Black. Then we have Urban Decay Afterglow. The shade I got this in is Sin. While I like this brand, I don’t really have a need for highlighter but I know one of my nieces uses it so I’ll pass this on to her. Next we have the Starlooks Artist Edition – Luxe Longwear Star Stamp + Liner Pen. I wish that they just gave more product instead of putting the cost towards the star stamp end. I don’t really see a use for it except for Halloween or a night out maybe. It’s not something I’d sport everyday (unless I’m Rainbow Brite!). Last up is Caked Makeup Lip Fondant. The shade I got this in is Low Key.

Overall, I think taking the quiz again helped. I liked this month’s offerings better than last month (which I didn’t even bother to blog about). I hope they keep it up for next month!

Dove Hair Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Detangler

Here’s the deal. Every once in a while there’s an awesome product out there that I’m ready to blog about. BUT I go to the brand website and this product seems to be missing? Did they discontinue it? What’s the deal? I do see it available on other online retailers. I scratch my head and wonder about it but at the end of the day if it’s gone, it’s gone. But being that some retailers still carry it both in-store and online, I’ll go ahead and give my full review. Here’s my take on the Dove Hair Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Detangler.

Dove Hair Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Detangler

What I love about this product? It works! I was a little apprehensive at first as I thought this might be gimmicky. The liquid in the bottle basically consists of the oil part that is clear in color on the top layer and the water-based part that is golden-yellow in color at the bottom. To “activate” this, simply shake the bottle so it’s emulsified and spray onto hair. As stated on the back of the spray bottle container: “The unique dual-phase formula contains a blend of Weightless Nutri-Oils, including Almond and Argan Oil, to replenish nutrients as it separates tangles. Absorbs quickly with no greasy feel, leaving hair soft, smooth and superbly touchable.” It can be used on both dry or damp hair. I’ve used it 99% of the time on damp hair like right after I shower. I personally like the smell a lot…it reminds me of a lighter version of some Calgon body spray. My hair remains tangle free for the most part (I have super long hair I’m about to chop off and donate) and it gives it extra shine. It also says that you can use this “even between washes to instantly nourish and smooth hair” but I wouldn’t encourage using it this way especially if you have some length to your hair. I tried it a few times and it started to look greasy, not refreshed smooth hair. I still have my bottle from almost a year ago but I use it about once to twice a week at most. I spritz about 3 times if I want to be really thorough and comb through to distribute it evenly.

What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really. It’s easy to find and decently priced for what you get. I think it runs about $4 at Walmart. A buy again for me if it’s still around when I run out with this.

Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner

I’ve raved about this product briefly when revealing the ipsy January 2014 Glam Bag a few months ago. I’ve used it many more time since then and am about to run out. Here’s my take on the Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner.

Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner

What I love about this product? First off, this product is awesome for my type of hair. I have slightly thick, long Asian hair. It’s naturally straight and it currently reaches the middle of my back. I get tangles, no doubt about it, so I’m always on the lookout for products that would help with this. Regular care of the hair is very important and is the first step in the overall health of the hair. I condition my hair heavily with coconut oil once in a while and wash it out. I try to avoid applying shampoo directly onto my hair and scalp — I dilute it with water in a cup when I shower as much as I remember to (especially the following days after the coconut oil conditioning). I love using my Tangle Teezer to get the tangles out anytime whether it’s right after showering or after the wind whipped my hair around good. But before this miracle hair detangling brush came into my life, I was relying on Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner. I would spritz a good amount all over my hair and use my comb to distribute it gently. Of course, I’d have to struggle with the initial brushing because my hair would have some tangles already right out of the shower. The Tangle Teezer eliminates this for me, but back to the Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner…..after the initial detangling I would almost not get any tangles at all after that. The Oklahoma wind would whip my hair around and I can still run my fingers through it. Not 100% all the time of course, there might be a little tangle at the very end but I can definitely tell the difference compared to when I didn’t use this product at all. That was a time when guaranteed tangles that I will have to struggle with is a way of life.

The scent is pleasant and light, on the sweet end but not fruity really. The smell does dissipate over the course of the day, so if you’re not a fan of the scent….don’t let it be the deal breaker right off the bat. There’s still hope that it may work out! It’s quite light to begin with. Formula-wise, it doesn’t weigh down the hair and it leaves no hint of greasiness or anything like that compared to other leave-in conditioners (which I found surprising since one of the ingredients highlighted is cocoa and I thought about the properties and consistency of cocoa butter). It gives my hair an extra sheen of shine. My hair does look and feel healthy overall.

What I don’t like about this product? If I have to be extremely picky, the price. It’s not a cheap item but it certainly works very well (exceeding my expectations) and it’s worth the price in my opinion. Just buy it when there’s a particular sale on this brand (hint: UTLA). Do note that this product may not necessarily work for you because of different hair type and body chemistry (I’m thinking more on other people’s scalp and the oil production of it and similar factors here).

This item should be available in various beauty stores such as ULTA, some drugstores and mass retailers nationwide.
