I forgot that I got this box in a while ago but never got around to posting it. Here’s what I got in my Walmart Summer 2018 Beauty Box.
I’ve already used the Rembrandt 3 Day Teeth Whitening Boost Kit and the Dove Exfoliating Body Polish sample. I should have blog posts on these coming up soon.
Not bad for $5 at all still!
This popped in my mailbox recently and for $5 (still!), I’m keeping the subscription. Here’s what I got in my Walmart Winter 2016 Beauty Box.
This box is more exciting than the others I’ve gotten in the past mostly because of the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream.
I’m looking forward to trying some of these out so watch out for reviews to come!
I got my Walmart Fall 2016 Beauty Box in about 2 weeks ago. I was fairly pleased with what I got for $5 (yet again!).
The boxes vary in terms of worth to me each time but what it boils down to is it’s just $5 and looking at everything I got, that’s not a bad price for it at all.
I see a few things already here that I can use immediately. This is a great way to try some stuff out before committing to a full-sized product!
I finally, FINALLY got my Walmart Spring 2016 Beauty Box a few days ago. I was wondering if I was even gonna get one since I’ve seen people get theirs a few weeks ago. I thought maybe there was something wrong with my billing or there was some glitch. But nope, here it is in all its full glory:
Everything came packed securely in the sturdy cardboard box.As usual, this box costs only $5. Can’t beat that really in my opinion. I’m pretty sure the contents of my box differed from those that I’ve seen who got them a week or 2 earlier. Maybe they ran out of some stuff but I like pretty much everything I got so I’m not complaining!
The item I’m most excited about to try is the Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser. I actually almost purchased it when I was at ULTA recently. Now I have a sample to try it out first to see if I like it. Hope y’all are having a great weekend so far and stay tuned for my take on some of the items from this box!
Here’s a quick post on my take on the Dove go fresh Revitalize Body Wash. I got this from both the Walmart Spring 2015 Beauty Box and the Walmart Summer 2015 Beauty Box. I’m not really sure why they sent the same thing in both boxes but I didn’t mind.
What I love about this product? It’s a fairly decent body wash from a well-known brand. I like Dove and the products they make so I had relatively above average expectations from this. The scent is supposed to be mandarin and tiare flower but to me it’s just light orange citrus with a little baby powder like scent to me. It’s not overwhelming though and the color of the body wash itself is a pastel orange — it made me think of orange creamsicle. Product description on their website is as follows: “Dove go fresh Revitalize Body Wash is a caring freshness with the vibrant and juicy scent of mandarin & tiare flower that leaves you and your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. Dove makes your skin softer and smoother after just one shower with NutriumMoisture for more skin natural nourishment. Refreshment that effectively nourishes skin.” I won’t say that the effect is huge on my shower routine but it’s an overall nice body wash.
What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really. It smells pleasant, does the job of a body wash without drying out my skin and is carried in most retailers.
This item is available in various drugstores and mass retailers nationwide.
Here’s a quick post on my take on the Olay Fresh Outlast® Cooling White Strawberry & Mint Body Wash. I got this from my recent Target Honor Roll 2015 Beauty Box.
What I love about this product? The strawberry scent it fresh and light. I don’t detect much of a mint scent at all, which works for me. The formula is creamy and of the right consistency expected from a body wash. I can’t really speak for the cooling effect the name of this product seems to indicate. I personally wouldn’t like that unless I live in a hot and humid place where my body immediately starts to sweat after I step out of the shower. I like to stay nice and warm for the most part. The directions indicate to “squeeze a small amount onto a wet puff, later and rinse”. I used this with The Bathery Delicate Bath Sponge that I got from the same beauty box. That really helped boost bubbles and lather.
What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really. It’s widely available and retails for a decent price as expected from a drugstore body wash. I’d snap it up in a heartbeat on some sale for sure cause I rarely buy anything without a sale or coupon.
This item should be available in various drugstores and mass retailers nationwide.
Hey guys! How are y’all doing? I’m hoping that this week will fly by as fast as last week. I’ve been keeping myself busy with work and some painting classes so far. I actually went to a painting class yesterday and I’m going to another tomorrow. I love tomorrow’s painting so I hope I do a great job on it. Today’s post is another edition of Curtain Call. Here’s my take on the Neosporin Moisture Essentials Daily Body Wash.
At 1.8 fl oz / 53 ml, this little tube lasted me for a few days only. I got this as part of a 3 piece Neosporin trial size pack from Walmart that was on sale a while ago. The front says “gently cleanses even the most dry, sensitive skin”, “formulated with a lipid, humectant, emollient and botanical blend” and “Soap-free | Fragrance-free”. The back of the tube has the following instructions:
DIRECTIONS: Squeeze daily body wash on to hands. Lather, gently apply to skin, rinse and pat dry. Warnings: When using this product, keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove.
Verdict? The body wash is on the more liquidy side. The texture is a bit lotion-y, which gives me the impression that it’s very moisturizing. It has a very neutral scent and lathers well. I find it to be a very gentle body wash. I started using it when I actually got sunburn on my lower back and I didn’t want to use strong soaps on it. I don’t have any other skin concerns really so I can’t rate how well it performs in that aspect but I can tell you for sure that this is probably one of the least drying body washes I’ve ever used. A 10 oz of this bottle retails for around $9.99 or so. I don’t know if they offer this particular product anymore because I’ve read other reviews that state they couldn’t find it anywhere for a few months now! I do see some pop up still when doing an online search for this product. You can check their website for more information on this product or other products in the same line.
While I I loved most of the items from the Target Head Of The Class 2015 Beauty Box, I couldn’t resist getting this one as well. Here’s the Target Honor Roll 2015 Beauty Box.
Everything came in a black reusable sturdy cardboard box. For $5, again, you really can’t go wrong. I almost didn’t get it (just like the Head Of The Class beauty box released at the same time) and I’m glad that I did.
I gave the elastics from the other box away so I’m keeping this one of myself. The item I am most excited to try is the John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume In-Shower Treatment. The first item I opened and used is the NYX Butter Gloss. The shade I got is Strawberry Parfait. I’ve been using a bath mitt for a while now so a bath pouf (they call it sponge but I call those things poufs) would be nice for a change. I actually think I’ll be using every single thing in this box. All in all, I like this beauty box better and as usual it does come with a $3 off $15 coupon on beauty items to use at Target.
I recently got this in the mail and was going to take product shots on Sunday but was very busy with household chores. It was sunny and my husband actually got us a new game from Steam so he chipped in and took the product shots for me as I finished up the household chores. Bless his heart! He didn’t use the zoom function that I always do and actually even took product shots of the lotion foil packet sample as well as the fragrance vial sample. I would’ve skipped both of those but I can’t really complain with free help right? Here’s what I got with my Walmart Summer 2015 Beauty Box.
Everything came in the same sturdy cardboard box. There is one more item in this box than I’m used to, making this a pretty good deal for $5.
This is much better than the last box, Walmart Spring 2015 Beauty Box. The extra item contributed greatly to that and the samples are more applicable to me than the previous boxes. The coupons are nice too in this box.
This box came recently and it didn’t wow me or anything. I actually forgot about it until I got charged the $5 in my credit card statement. I actually thought about canceling it though, but I figured I’ll do that if the next box isn’t that great. Here’s what I got with my Walmart Spring 2015 Beauty Box.
Everything came in the same sturdy cardboard box as with the Fall and Winter one. None of the items really speak out to me, but it’s still not bad for $5 really.
Overall, I’ll wait for one more box (yet again) to decide if I’ll continue on with this subscription or not.
Hey guys! I’m sure most of you know about the Freeman Beauty Mystery Bag that went live a few days ago. I got the email and even saw it posted on my IG by a few beauty bloggers I know. I hemmed and hawed but only for a little bit before taking the plunge. This shipped out the same day I placed the order. Upon inspection when I opened everything, I noticed that something seems to be missing so I compared it to what I know someone else has gotten in their shipment as seen on Nouveau Cheap’s site here. Now this is everything that came with mine:
My order comes with an extra travel size dry shampoo cause of the code WELCOME but notice that everything else I got is the same….with the exception that I’m short 8 sachet items. Here is the breakdown of my Mystery Bag:
Pssst! Instant Dry Shampoo Travel Size (not counting this since this is in addition to the Mystery Bag) – FREE
c. Booth Milk Bath & Shower Cleanser – $6.99
Pssst! Instant Dry Shampoo for Wavy or Curly Hair – $6.99
Feeling Beautiful Acai Facial Purifying Clay Mask – $3.99
Feeling Beautiful Chocolate & Strawberry Facial Clay Mask – $3.99
Bare Foot Spa Professional Moisturizing Massage Cream – $5.99
Barefoot Repair Overnight Foot Cream – $6.99
Eclos Plant Stem Cells Super Concentrate Night Booster Fluid (can’t find this anywhere except going for $19.50 on Amazon right now) – $19.50
Eclos Daily Hydra Primer SPF30 – $15.99
Vita-K Professionals Deep Facial Lines – $14.99
Travel size sachets (6 since 1 is my freebie with my order) – $1.99 x 6 = $11.94
TOTAL RETAIL VALUE OF MYSTERY BOX: $97.36
I emailed them to inquire if I am indeed missing some items since I got exactly the same things as what is seen from someone else (less 8 sachets). I just wanted to know since other people might be expecting to get X amount and only got Y amount (like what happened to me). I thought about several different scenarios that could’ve happened such as they mistakenly left 8 travel size sachets out of my order or they somehow mistakenly counted my free travel size dry shampoo offer against my Mystery Bag to everyone simply may just get more or less since their offer is “valued up to $100”. I held off buying another Mystery Bag because I was curious to see what the response was. It’s not a hill to die on whether I get the 8 sachets or not, but I want to know the reason behind it and that says a lot about companies. I just got a response this morning and it points to a scenario I didn’t even think of! Here is what they said:
Thank you for contacting Freeman Beauty.
Our apologies for any misunderstanding with the offer, as please know that is the “mystery” with this promotion, and as our email blast states towards the bottom of the special:
“Some bags include a mystery treat for feet…will your bag be one of them?”
Thank you for your inquiry and for your patronage, and again our apologies for any misunderstanding with the promotion.
So this response leads me to believe that the extra items that someone else got was a mystery treat for feet. Looking back at G’s post of what someone else got, seems to make sense since the missing sachets are mostly for the feet (only 1 of what I got is for the feet…the rectangular sachet). I just made a search online to see if someone else has gotten their Mystery Bag and looks like Beauty Hoard got hers too here and it’s exactly the same as mine (except for my free trial size dry shampoo). And looks like someone else got what I got (again, minus the travel size dry shampoo) and emailed them too receiving the same response. You can see it if you follow this on Reddit here. Now the thing left in question is on their website right now it says “get mystery treat for feet while supplies last!” so does this mean the supply is all gone? Their email response to me states that some bags include it, so it’s different from “while supplies last”. But eh….this is something that will confuse some customers for sure.
So I didn’t get $100 worth of stuff, but it’s close to it. Was it worth it still since last year’s was only $20 and valued at over $90? The % of savings you get definitely went down, so if you look at it that way — no. But I’m about to place another order just to see if I get some other stuff (I’m hoping for more clay masks really). Here’s a look at some of last year’s Mystery Bag breakdown from Hello Pretty Bird! and Zadidoll (and again here since she got 2).
Today’s post marks the end of the life of a beauty product. The packaging has changed over the years, but they still do carry this product. This Curtain Call segment is on Victoria’s Secret Love Spell Luxurious Shower Gel.
At 8.4 fl oz / 250 ml, this is sold under their VS Fantasies brand. I got this in a beauty set during the Holidays a few years ago. It comes in a clear plastic bottle packaging with a screw top lid where you push in to open the top and squeeze out some of the product. The back of the bottle reads the following:
Awaken your senses with
the lush sensuality of our
Luxurious Shower Gel.
A little creates rich lather
leaving skin delicately cleansed,
petal soft, and scented with
lavishly lush Love Spell.
Lather over body with wash-
cloth or sponge, then rinse.
Verdict? I’ve always liked the scent Love Spell the most among that line of theirs (I think it used to be called Victoria’s Secret Garden). It’s sweet and reminds me of yummy candy. Light purple or lavender in color, it works just like any other shower gel I’ve tried — it cleans and leaves the skin soft with its scent. This currently retails for $14 a bottle, but you can get this at a great price during their regular deals for this line or with their semi-annual sale that is currently running still. As mentioned, the packaging has changed since then, but this is still available on their website as well as in stores. This also available as part of a gift set occasionally, especially during the Holiday season.
I emerged from the shower earlier today feeling light and bubbly. Who can blame me when I just immersed myself in a luscious experience with the scent of jasmine and honey? All credit goes to LUSH Flying Fox.
Described as “MOOD-ALTERING APHRODISIAC HONEY SHOWER GEL”, this product comes in 3 different sizes: 3.3 oz, 8.4 oz or 16.9 oz and retails for $9.95, 18.95 and $28.95 respectively. More mesmerizing description found on their website:
“Instead of smashing plates or saying regrettable things, take a moment to cool off (or heat things up) in the shower with Flying Fox shower gel. The masses of sensual jasmine, ylang ylang and palmarosa oils work to relax your frazzled mind and a triple helping of honey keeps your skin cleansed, soft and sweet, even when your mood isn’t. But we’re pretty confident that the aphrodisiac fragrance will be enough to quell the darkest of spirits. Even better resolution to a bad mood? Share your shower and make things right standing up – washing their back of course!”
Directions indicated on their website are as follows: “Our shower gels are loaded with fresh, natural ingredients and contain very little water, so a little goes a long way. Get naked, hop in the shower, and lather up. LUSH shower gels are also excellent shampoos.”
What I love about this product? It smells so delicious and works great in the shower. I definitely smell jasmine in it and I even detect a hint of honey. The color reminds me of honey, but the consistency is on the more watery side. It’s more watery when compared to other body washes or shampoos, so pour with caution to not end up wasting the product. A little does go a long way. I use my shower mitt with this and I can get a good lather going all over my body with just a dollop of the product (size is a little bigger than a US quarter). The smell is a little bit fun, a little bit sexy and a little bit of sweet. It lingers too for a little bit after showering but it’s all gone, in my experience, after an hour has gone by. It’s definitely not drying like some body washes I’ve encountered in the past.
What I don’t like about this product? If I have to cite one, it would be the price. Granted, you get what you pay for but that’s a huge difference in the market of body washes.
This item is available exclusively at LUSH stores worldwide and online.

Hey guys! It’s Thursday once again and I’m so looking forward to the weekend! I have to make this post really quick since it’s a busy day for me. If you guys follow me on Instagram here, you’d have seen my Throwback Thursday contribution posted a few hours earlier. Here’s Bath & Body Works’ Butter Cookie Refreshing Shower Gel.
Anyone else knows where to find this these days? I. WANT. MORE. Sadly, this is long gone. This is one of my favorite product that they have discontinued. Actually, I think this might be a limited edition seasonal scent to…..except for the fact that they never brought it back again! It smells so good…..it makes me want to stay in the shower for hours. I wish they will bring it back one of these days, even if it’s just for a limited edition seasonal collection. Any of you remember this or another item from the same collection or release?
Today’s segment of Curtain Call covers another product Bath & Body Works. It’s just in time too for their semi-annual sale, which is going on right now. Here’s my take on Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Creamy Body Wash.
At 8 fl oz / 236 ml, this retails for $12.50 at Bath & Body Works stores and online. It goes on sale from time to time (like now!) and you can score this for less with coupons they send out occasionally. It’s a good buy especially when they have their semi-annual sales (again, going on now!). That’s when I stock up on these! The whole squeeze tube container lasted me for about 2 months. The back of the tube reads the following:
“Our Signature Creamy Body Wash is one of the world’s best-kept secrets for transforming your everyday shower to a luxurious experience. Enriched with Milk and Oat Proteins to soften, smooth and condition skin, its sensuous, creamy lather leaves you feeling silky smooth and beautifully fragrant.
Enjoy this rich formula and awaken your senses with our exclusive Enchanted Orchid, an exotic floral that recreates the hypnotic moment of tropical sunlight on rare orchids.”
Verdict? I love it. The scent shown is in Enchanted Orchid. While I don’t see this scent in particular offered online, you might be able to still catch it in stores. I’m not sure if this scent is discontinued or not. I think it is. It has a super creamy formula that definitely gives that luxurious feel when you’re using it. For the price, this luxurious treat definitely worth it. The scent is one of my favorites from the brand. If you get this on sale or with their coupons, it sweetens the deal. They also have various other scents available to choose from in case this scent is not right up your alley.
This product can easily be purchased at Bath & Body Works stores and online where available.
