Walmart Spring 2018 Beauty Box

I got this box earlier but I didn’t get around to posting it. By now, I received another Walmart Beauty Box so I thought I’d post this one now. Here’s what I got in my Walmart Spring 2018 Beauty Box.

The most excited thing in this bunch is the peeling gel face mask. And I can’t wait to try the Aquaphor product. I hope it doesn’t come across as too greasy!

Degree UltraClear Black+White Antiperspirant Deodorant Stick

Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Lotion

Tarte Sex Kitten Eyeliner

AP2 Volume Gloss Gel Polish

Soo’Ae Purifying Brightening Peeling Gel

The contents of this bag is much better than many of the ones I got recently. I hope next month’s bag continues this trend!

Aveeno POSITIVELY RADIANT Daily Moisturizer

Happy Thursday! Today’s post is on something I’ve been trying out for 2 weeks now. Here’s my take on the Aveeno POSITIVELY RADIANT® Daily Moisturizer.

Aveeno POSITIVELY RADIANT® Daily Moisturizer

What I love about this product? I got this from my Walmart Fall 2015 Beauty Box. I’m so glad that I got the chance to try this before I decide to splurge on the full-sized item. I like that this doesn’t smell heavily of sunscreen at all and that the texture is more pleasant than I thought it would be. I was bracing myself for it being on the heavy side like other sunscreen face moisturizers or creams I’ve tried. This one is lightweight compared to those. There is no heaviness at all. It leaves my face feeling so soft and smooth. Product is white in color and aside from a hint of the scent of sunscreen scent is something familiar but can’t quite pinpoint.

What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really.

More information on this item is available on their website here. Products from this brand is carried by drugstores and mass retailers such as Target, Walmart and ULTA.

I could’ve sworn I blogged about this but when it was time to write a review on one of the items I got in this I couldn’t find the post at all. Here’s what I got with my Walmart Fall 2015 Beauty Box.

Curtain Call: Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish+Condition Leave-In Treatment

Happy Friday! Today we have another segment of Curtain Call. The product up for evaluation and review this time is Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish+Condition Leave-In Treatment. I managed to get this with my Extra Care Bucks (ECB) from CVS to get more ECB with this purchase about 2 years ago.

At 154 ml / 5.2 fl oz, this retails for $7.49 at CVS and is similarly priced at various retail and drugstores. It goes on sale from time to time (like right now!) and combined with coupons from your weekly Sunday paper or through tearpads in the store, this can essentially comes close to being free. The whole bottle lasted me for almost a year. With my long hair, that’s great. I did use it only when I feel I needed a little conditioning boost. The front text reads “WITH NOURISHING WHEAT COMPLEX” and “deeply replenishes dry, damaged hair”. The back of the bottle reads the following:

“NOURISH+CONDITION LEAVE-IN TREATMENT does much more than nourish and condition – it quenches the thirstiest hair with a fusion of deep conditioners and moisturizers, recharging it with with healthy new life. Hair is instantly revitalized and scientific studies show that just three uses helps repair dry damaged hair.

This exclusive ACTIVE NATURALS formula, infused with Nourishing Wheat Complex, is designed to feed your hair – replenishing moisture as it zeroes in on the weakest part of hair – fortifying the hair shaft with protein where it needs it most.

Developed with a team of experts, including a leading dermatologist and stylist, our ACTIVE NATURALS formula harnesses the power of nature combined with advanced scientific methods, and is shown to give you the beautifully strong, healthy looking hair you desire and deserve.
And because it’s from AVEENO you can trust that it’s gentle on color-treated hair.

DIRECTIONS: Spray all over hair or on concentrated areas as desired. Comb through to distribute evenly. Do not rinse. For best results, use the AVEENO NOURISH+ Shampoo and Conditioner designed to suit your hair texture.”

Verdict? I like it a lot. It helps with tangles, so I use it on days that I use shampoo but not conditioner or when I just feel like my hair needed a little extra loving. The scent is that of a typical clean shampoo. I love it. It’s fragrant and nice. I find that my roots don’t need much of it, so I typically just spray for the application from the middle to the tip of my hair strands. I then just follow through with a comb for even distribution. Everyone asks me what I use on my hair cause it looks and smells great. I’m definitely buying this product again now that I’ve just run out of it.

This product can easily be purchased in various retail and drugstores such as Walmart, Target, ULTA, CVS, and Walgreens. It is also available online at various websites that carry beauty and personal care products.

Curtain Call: Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish+Volumize Shampoo & Conditioner

Here’s another segment of Curtain Call. The product up for evaluation and review this time is Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish+Volumize Shampoo & Conditioner. I managed to get these with my Extra Care Bucks (ECB) from CVS to get more ECB with this purchase.

At 311 ml / 10.5 fl oz, this retails for $7.49 at CVS and is similarly priced at various retail and drugstores. It goes on sale from time to time (like right now!) and combined with coupons from your weekly Sunday paper or through tearpads in the store, this can essentially comes close to being free. The whole bottle lasted me for almost 2 months. With my long hair, that’s only okay. The front text reads “WITH NOURISHING WHEAT COMPLEX AND BLUE LOTUS FLOWER” and “strengthens and adds body to fine or limp hair”. The back of the bottle reads the following:

“NOURISH+VOLUMIZE SHAMPOO/CONDTIONER does much more than nourish and cleanse/condition – it creates abundance/adds body with a fusion of light weight conditioners, giving hair lush, rich life. Scientific studies show that three washes helps repair damage, providing the three key elements that give hair life – strength, softness and shine.

This exclusive ACTIVE NATURALS formula, infused with Nourishing Wheat Complex and Anti-Oxidant Blue Lotus Flower, is designed to feed your hair by replenishing moisture to protect fine, fragile hair. It zeroes in on the weakest part of hair – fortifying the hair shaft with protein where it needs it most.

DIRECTIONS (shampoo): Apply to wet hair and lather with a gentle massaging motion. Rinse thoroughly and repeat if needed. Follow with AVEENO NOURISH+VOLUMIZE Conditioner.

DIRECTIONS (conditioner): After using AVEENO NOURISHING+VOLUMIZE Shampoo, massage into wet hair and work evenly through to ends. Rinse thoroughly.”

Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish+Volumize Shampoo & Conditioner

Verdict? I like it, but it’s a bit pricey for what you’re getting. I could get the same result from many other different brands. Formula is nice and creamy with the usual consistency of shampoo and conditioner. It cleans hair pretty well. My hair is left soft and smooth after using both shampoo and conditioner. The scent is that of a typical clean shampoo. I avoid applying conditioner to my scalp area to properly balance moisture in my hair. I find that my roots don’t need much of it, so I start application from the tips working my way up to the scalp.
