My Beauty Diary Repair Power Brightening Black Pearl EX+ Mask

It’s the first work day of the year for me. While the 3 weeks I’m off felt great, it felt too short. As the saying goes: “Time flies by when you’re having fun.” While I’m slightly bummed it’s over, I am looking forward to getting back into the grind of things and getting into the daily routine of things. Helping me ease back into it is by using a sheet mask. I find it generally relaxing and part of my almost daily routine at this point. Here’s what I think of the My Beauty Diary Repair Power Brightening Black Pearl EX+ Mask.

First thoughts? I got this as one of the 4 random sheet mask boxes in my last Stylevana order. I took a chance and went with that option and am just glad that I didn’t get any of the ones in my previous Stylevana order where I ended up with several boxes each of the Damask Rose and Aloe Vera. First thing I noticed is the simple but pretty packaging. It’s simple and sleek, not cutesy. Upon opening the packet, I find the sheet mask soaked in essence. I fished it out and separated it from the film layer that this brand is known to have. While I tend to use the film layer as a layer on top of the sheet mask when on my face, it’s still quite wasteful. The film isn’t the most comfortable and easy to wield especially since that isn’t its intended purpose. I kept it on my face for a ridiculously long time, about 40 minute or so, before I took off the film layer. The sheet mask was still very wet and I left it on until it’s mostly dry to the touch, which is another 40 minutes or so. The essence is clear and light so it dries down very beautifully. My face looked noticeably brighter immediately after use. I followed it up with my face moisturizer and sunscreen during the day.

Any negatives? Nothing at all. I see clear and immediate difference on my face after use. In all honestly, this might be the most effective sheet mask I’ve tried when it comes to brightening my skin’s complexion. I feel that the higher price tag of this one is justified for what it does if that’s what you’re looking for.
