The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream

The last day of the first month of 2023! Time sure flies by fast. This was a productive month for me. I managed to catch up on the regular household chores, got a bunch of pictures printed off Costco before they ended their photo printing services and started our son on playing with play money and understanding basic addition and subtraction. Today’s blog post is on a hand cream I’ve been reaching for recently. Here’s my take on the The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream.

The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream

What I love about this product? I’ve had this for a while and have been using it on an off as needed. What I like about their hand creams is that isn’t as greasy as other hand creams I’ve tried from other brands. There’s a tiny hint of grease that’s just enough to keep your hand moisturized during winter but doesn’t leave it feeling there’s any oiliness at all. I find it a little bit too much for summer where I am but it’s good for the rest of the year. I prefer this scent instead of their other rose scent, British Rose. It does smell like rose and is not too synthetic — a win in my book. It’s a little pricey to me at $7.50 for 30 ml / 1 fl oz but not bad if you feel like getting it as a treat for yourself or someone else.

What I don’t like about this product? While I initially liked how the packaging looks, I dislike it greatly. Sure, the metal tube looks sleek and cool in my hands but it can actually produce sharp folds and edges over time and in turn leak out product.

Curtain Call: MISSHA Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Rx

Okay, the posts have slowed down due to me getting through with pretty much all the sheet masks I had on hand. They are a one-time use beauty product, so I was able to go through a lot of those in a short amount of time. There will be more sheet mask reviews here and there but nothing like how it’s been for the past few months. Today’s post is a Curtain Call entry. It’s been a long time since I did one and I just finished this up today, so I thought it’d be fitting to blog about it. Here’s my review on the MISSHA Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Rx.

MISSHA Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Rx

Stated on the back of the bottle:

MISSHA TIME REVOLUTION
THE FIRST TREATMENT ESSENCE Rx
FIRMING & BRIGHTENING CARE
DERMATOLOGICALLY TESTED

DIRECTIONS: At the first step of skincare, take an
appropriate amount on cotton pad or into the palm of the hand.
Apply over face and pat lightly for absorption.

What I love about this product? The frosted glass bottle with mirror cap is absolutely elegantly beautiful. As for the product itself, it is so light on my face and it doesn’t have a scent to me. It feels like water almost when it dries on my face. It is moisturizing still but it feels like there’s nothing at all on my face, which I LOVE. No greasiness, no hint of having anything on my face. If there’s a scent it’s basically non-existent to me, which is another thing I love. I dislike strong scents and can be particular about the kind of scents I like. It is clear and the consistency of it is it’s just as viscous as water. I use this twice a day at least, during my AM and PM skincare routine. I distinctly remember noticing my face is glowing even before using this for an entire week. I couldn’t believe it. I use this just as described in the directions, as the first step of skincare after cleansing my face. I did start off with using a small cotton ball but decided that I actually like tapping it onto my face more. I just tilt the bottle slightly and quickly so that a drop or two squirts out onto my forehead and use my pointing and middle finger to tap it all over my face. I do this several times until I covered my entire face. I let it dry before proceeding to the next step of my skincare routine. I have tried another MISSHA FTE but I like both the formulation and scent of this one better. I also feel like the brightening effect is more prominent with this one than the other one, so this is THE HG item for me in the FTE category.

What I don’t like about this product? It should be nothing but MISSHA loves reformulating their products. I got this from TJMaxx and at the time I got this they just released an updated version of this (the 5th generation of this product that is available on their site right now). So while I KNOW that this version works for me, I can’t say that their current or future formulations of this would work for me. I do have a back-up bottle of this that I got on clearance from TJMaxx 2 weeks after I got the first bottle (that I just finished). I’ll be using it after I finish up the next 2 toners I have lined up, which can take a while as this 150 ml / 5.07 fl oz bottle lasted me for about 6 months. They do have sales often so I would avoid paying full-price for this to make it worth even more to you.

Look At Me Collagen Face Mask

Wow! January is almost over! Where did the time go?! 2023 sure is flying by. Today’s post is on one of my most recent TJMaxx trip finds. I like looking for K-beauty stuff there and sheet masks on clearance are simply something I cannot pass up. Here’s what I think of the Look At Me Collagen Face Mask.

Look At Me Collagen Face Mask

First thoughts? I got this in a box of 10 in my last TJMaxx shopping trip on clearance. The packaging and the brand name caught my eye. I had a pretty good impression with the Look At Me Hyaluronic Acid Face Mask that it was a no-brainer for me to grab it. The packaging is bright, cute and not overly fussy. The scent of this is really strong. It reminds me of those body sprays from Calgon in high school. It eventually dissipates after a few minutes being on my face. The sheet mask is made out of tencel like some MEDIHEAL ones. It’s thin but holds onto the essence well. The sheet mask was soaked and dripping in essence when I first fished it out of the packet. The essence is on the thicker side for most sheet mask essences. It’s actually gel-like. I left it on my skin for a good while and it dried off nicely over time. My skin looks bright and felt great.

Any negatives? I still have 9 of these to confirm or squash the thought that this caused the breakout on my face and neck (nothing too bad, a few lone bumps on my forehead and neck) the following days after use. I did save the leftover essence and used it in my day and night skincare routine for the next 2 days after using the sheet mask. The breakout isn’t too bad but I can’t say for sure that this sheet mask caused it. I’ll wait for it to clear up and try again. I hope it’s a one off thing caused by something else cause I really liked using this sheet mask.

DERMAL Green Tea Collagen Essence Mask

Finally! Today’s the day I blog about the last of the 39 sheet masks in a set that I got on Amazon last year. It took a while to go through them all but I managed to do so while also trying out sheet masks from other brands. Without further ado, here’s my thoughts on the DERMAL Green Tea Collagen Essence Mask.

DERMAL Green Tea Collagen Essence Mask

First thoughts? The scent of this is familiar and on the lighter side. It’s not what I would expect from a green tea scent though. It’s just some generic bath and body product scent I’ve smelled several times before. Some of their other sheet masks smell either the same or close to it. It doesn’t bother me and the scent is light enough that it dissipates immediately after placing it onto my face. I widened the cuts by the eyes towards the bridge of the nose so the sheet mask would lay completely flat. The soft cloth material holds the essence nicely against my face. I took it off after a good while — about 40 minutes or so. Even though we are in the middle of Winter, I found using this really soothing and refreshing. It dries down beautifully on my face, which is common for sheet masks from this brand.

Any negatives? Nothing I can think of. While it doesn’t have anything specifically that makes it stand out, I do like how soothing and refreshing it is. I’m not quite sure what makes this sheet masking experience stand out in that aspect but it did, so I’ll be keeping the other ones of these from the other sets I have.

A’pieu White Milk One-Pack Face Mask

Happy Friday! I’ve been a little busy with stuff as I get back into the groove after being off for 3 weeks. It felt a bit short even though it was literally 3 weeks. It was a busy 2 weeks or so, which I guess made it feel like I took barely any time off. Our son started back up with school with no problems at all and I got to see one of my dearest friends that I consider a sister recently. Today’s post is on a fun sheet mask that caught my eye in my most recent TJMaxx trip. Here’s what I think of the A’pieu White Milk One-Pack Face Mask.

A’pieu White Milk One-Pack Face Mask

First thoughts? I picked up a box of 10 of these as it caught my eye last week. I was out with my husband for date night (dropped the kiddo off at Parent’s Night Out hosted by his preschool) and we stopped by TJMaxx after dinner as it was close by. The cute packaging caught my eye, not gonna lie. I love how it looks like a legit milk box — very, very cute in my book. I was really excited about this and hoping that it will not smell like the KWAILNARA Strawberry Milk Vitalizing Mask being that this is a milk sheet mask like that one. Well, the scent does remind me of it unfortunately BUT it is not as bad. There is a note in the scent that I found to be artificial and repulsive. It was pretty bad with the other sheet mask I’ve used before but not this time. This actually encouraged me to give the KWAILNARA strawberry one a try again. The essence is milky white and not as viscous as that of most brands I’ve tried, which isn’t surprising for a milky type essence. My skin looks dewy and nicely hydrated after use.

Any negatives? While I couldn’t tolerate the similar scent in another brand’s sheet mask, I definitely could with this one. I’m pleased with how moisturizing it is and how nourished it makes my face feel that it’s a winner. I’ll be looking out for these whenever I go to TJMaxx.
