DERMAL Red Ginseng Collagen Essence Mask

Today should be a relaxing day for me. I’m not looking forward to being back at work in a week but that’s life. It felt too short really. I took part in the after Christmas sales yesterday at Hobby Lobby and would like to check out Target at some point. I already got some Christmas cards for a decent price at Costco earlier so anything else will just be extra. I tried on a sheet mask I’ve been putting off as I’m not a fan of the Chinese medicinal scents and I thought it’d smell like that. Here’s my take on the DERMAL Red Ginseng Collagen Essence Mask.

DERMAL Red Ginseng Collagen Essence Mask

First thoughts? The scent!!! The first thing that came to mind when I took a whiff is boiled peanuts. After smelling it for a bit, it’s not quite boiled peanuts as there’s a note in it that makes me think of medicinal root but first impression is definitely boiled peanuts. That non-boiled peanut note though….Do. Not. Like. But I could tolerate it, so I slapped it on and the scent dissipated less than 10 seconds for me. I left it on until it felt dry to the touch and it dried down really nicely. I was able to put my face moisturizer on without waiting too long. My face looked healthy but nothing extraordinary.

Any negatives? While I have a love-hate relationship with the scent (I love the scent of boiled peanuts!), nothing else about this makes me want to repurchase it. I didn’t get an awesome glow or extreme hydration from it. My skin looked like how it would with a bunch of other sheet masks I’ve tried — moisturizes well but nothing else on top off that.
