When you think of sheet masks, Korea comes to mind. However there are quality, popular sheet mask brands from other countries too like Japan and Taiwan. Today’s post features one as such. From their Nature Key line, here’s my take on the My Beauty Diary Damask Rose Mask.
First thoughts? My Beauty Diary is a Taiwanese brand that was mentioned quite a lot when I was browsing for sheet mask recommendations on the AsianBeauty subreddit. I wanted to place an order on Masksheets, but they do not carry MBD, so I got it from Stylevana instead. Upon opening the packet, I fished the sheet mask out with clean fingers and was puzzled by a sheet of film that is folded up with the sheet mask itself. I fumbled around clumsily as I unfolded it and removed the sheet mask from it to place it onto my clean face. The essence is lightly scented of rose. It is pleasant and not too strong. It doesn’t smell artificial to me. The texture of the essence is thicker than water but quite viscous. My face felt cool and refreshed as soon as the sheet mask is on my face. That feeling is so satisfying on the end of a hot summer day. It felt like it is very moisturizing that I did worry it will take a long time to dry on my face. I left it on for over 40 minutes before it felt dry to the touch. My face looked plump and very hydrated. I let my face air dry for about 5 minutes before sealing it in with my face moisturizer. I definitely loved how it dries down really well. I dislike sheet masks that leave my skin feeling tacky and most of them do that.
Any negatives? If I have to be really picky, it would be the price. I read online that they used to have 10 sheet masks to a box and now it’s 8. Calculating price per sheet mask, I can get a lot of nice ones from other brands cheaper than MBD, which is why I got this only when there was a B2G2 sale.
