Curtain Call: Onomie Powerful Priming Serum

Hey guys! It’s Fri-YAY! Today’s post is on a product I got from my ipsy May 2018 Glam Bag. I ran out of facial serum one day and looked at my stash to see what I have. Even though I got it a while back, it’s brand new and sealed so I gave it a go. Here’s my thoughts on the Onomie Powerful Priming Serum.

Onomie Powerful Priming Serum

Stated from their website:

An antioxidant-packed serum and makeup primer in one
This serum-meets-primer replenishes the skin, boosts radiance, and evens tone and texture, while priming skin for makeup application. Infused with Daisy Flower Extract to brighten and even skin tone, Blackjack Botanical to increase collagen production and Willowbark Extract to encourage cell turnover, our P.P.S. is clinically proven to bring a visible improvement to skin’s tone and texture. Used daily, our Powerful Priming Serum leaves skin healthier – with or without makeup.

What I love about this product? It is both a facial serum and makeup primer. I don’t use makeup primer much or have experience in them really so this review is more on as a facial serum. The 2-in-1 aspect might be a motivating factor to purchase for some. A little goes a long way and I don’t mind the texture of the product. It is slightly more viscous than I thought but that’s no problem as long as the application is seamless with it, which it is. I feel like this does moisturize my skin but it also has fine shimmer in it. I do believe it makes my face look brighter and better due to that so I saved it for use in the facial serum step during the AM only (I used another one for that step during PM). Some might not like the fine shimmer, which is not expected from a facial serum but I think it’s more prevalent in makeup primers. It gives your face an iridescent glow when under light.

What I don’t like about this product? Because that this is a 2-in-1 product, I feel that it falls a bit short as a facial serum. It is not bad, but it’s not great. It’s only okay and that doesn’t warrant any thought of repurchase in my book.

Curtain Call: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

Hey guys! Hope you’re all having a great week so far! Today’s post is on a product I got from my ipsy May 2018 Glam Bag. Here’s my thoughts on the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

Stated from their website:

A universal serum that gives skin its daily dose of moisture for soft, smooth, youthful-looking skin. Formulated for all skin types, this hydrating gel instantly infuses skin with essential hydration to help plump and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

This water-based gel absorbs immediately into the skin leaving behind an invisible shield that helps to seal in hydration. Its lightweight texture makes it perfect for layering under your favorite A.M. and P.M. moisturizers. Hyaluronic Acid—a moisture-locking agent—helps hydrate, plump and nourish. Anti-aging Peptides help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while Collagen helps skin appear more plump and replenished with an improved-looking texture. Colloidal Oatmeal, along with Aloe Leaf Juice, help calm and soothe irritated skin for an all over healthy-looking and feeling complexion.

What I love about this product? The product itself is a clear and transparent in appearance like a gel. It has the looks of being hydrating. I use a small amount of this and patted it gently all over my face with my fingertips. I use this in the facial serum step of the Korean 10-step skin routine I’ve been doing for months now. It absorbs pretty quickly into my skin and while there is a scent to it that’s not too light, it dissipates pretty quickly so it doesn’t bother me at all. It feels to be quite moisturizing. I’ve used this product for over a month and it does the job of a facial serum I would say. Simply put, it works well.

What I don’t like about this product? While I’m not too impressed with this brand’s other products, this is the best product they have that I’ve tried so far. I would consider buying this the next time I’m shopping for a facial serum.

Zoya Element Swatches

Hey guys! As the weather now cools and Fall is basically here, Fall colors is popping up around like crazy. Today’s post is on the entire Fall 2018 collection from Zoya! I had most of this photographed a few weekends ago but with a new camera, a lot of the shots didn’t turn out the way it should so I will have to add them in later. I thought I could get to it within the past few weeks but life happens. In random order, here are swatches for the Zoya Element Collection.

Let’s start off with Donnie.

Zoya Donnie

Donnie is my favorite crème in this collection. I tend to like magenta or fuchsia shades and this one is right up there. It is described as “a full-coverage purple-toned sangria cream”. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Up next Jenna.

Zoya Jenna

Jenna looks to be the typical pink crème shade. It is described as “a full-coverage dusty rose pink cream with blue undertones”. Formula for this shade is nice. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Next we have Leighton.

Zoya Leighton

I actually like this shade more than I thought I would. It’s a deep, dark eggplant purple crème with a nice shine. It is described as “a deeply saturated blackened aubergine cream”. Formula is nicer than I thought it would be as I always have difficulty with really dark purples and reds. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Then we have Rumor.

Zoya Rumor

Rumor was the one I thought I’d have the most difficult time with but it applied beautifully for a frost shade. It is described as “a full-coverage mauve taupe with a subtle shimmer – a perfect classic shade for Fall”. As expected, the finish shows brush strokes very evidently. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Next up is Kendra.

Zoya Kendra

Kendra is a beautiful crème shade that has a nice shine to it. Described as “a beautiful full-coverage marsala cream”, formula for this shade beautiful as it applied nicely on like butter. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Kendra (close-up)

Then we have Gardner.

Zoya Gardner

Gardner looks more blue than I thought it would when applied onto my nails. It is described as “a deep periwinkle with a vibrant magenta shimmer in a dense foil finish”. Formula for this shade is on par with the rest in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Up next is Rachael.

Zoya Rachael

What a stunning shimmer Rachael turned out to be. It is described as “a full-coverage mulberry berry cream”. This shade screams Fall to me and makes me think of wine. Formula is beautifully smooth. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Rachael (close-up)

Then here’s Ruthie.

Zoya Ruthie

Ruthie is a beautiful rose pink crème shade with a nice shine. It is described as “a full-coverage raspberry rose cream”. Formula for this shade is really, really nice. It applied beautifully. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Ruthie (close-up)

Next up is Devin.

Zoya Devin

Devin is the other foil shade in this collection. It is described as “a steel blue with hints of multicolored shimmer in a dense foil finish”. Formula for this shade is really nice, giving it a smooth application. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Devin (close-up)

One that’s slightly hard to capture in photos is Maryann.

Zoya Maryann

Maryann is one of my favorites in this collection. It is described as “a full-coverage pink-toned rose with soft glowing shimmer”. I will retake photos for this shade as it looked like it bubbled on me for some reason. I remember the formula for this shade is consistent with most in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Then there’s Maeve.

Zoya Maeve

Maeve is a nice prurple crème that I like a lot. It is described as “a full-coverage concord grape cream”. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Maeve (in shade)

Zoya Maeve (close-up)

Last up is Alyssa.

Zoya Alyssa

Alyssa is a beautiful red crème that’s perfect for Fall. It is described as “a full-coverage red-toned purple cranberry cream”. Formula for this shade is very nice. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Alyssa (in shade)

Zoya Alyssa (close-up)

Overall, there are a lot more pink shades in this collection than I thought it would but I feel like for the most part they’re different enough from each other. Most of these are perfect for Fall!

Dr. Lili Fan Probiotic Eye Repair Cream

Happy Sunday! As the cooler weather is here to stay, I spent this weekend breaking out my Fall and Winter footwear. I can’t wait for the cooler season to decrease the fly and mosquito population around here. I’ve also recently revisited my skincare regimen as cooler weather does bring about huge changes to my skin. Today’s post is on a product I’ve been using for about 2 months now. I got it from my ipsy June 2018 Glam Bag. Here’s my take on the Dr. Lili Fan Probiotic Eye Repair Cream.

Dr. Lili Fan Probiotic Eye Repair Cream

What I love about this product? This little green tub holds enough product to last for a long time. A little goes a long way. The product itself is opaque and white in color — as what is expected from a typical eye cream product. The texture is light and not greasy at all. There is a tingling sensation when I gently pat it on my under eye area after washing my face both morning and night. It absorbs quickly and keeps that area hydrated. The price point isn’t that bad based on how much I use it. At $54 for 0.5 fl oz / 15 ml on their webpage, it seems a lot when you’re trying to compare it to similar products from other brands but a little goes a long way and this is the second Dr. Lili Fan product I’ve tried and I’ve been impressed with both products so far.

What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really. I’m looking into purchasing this when I’m out and after I’ve used all other eye creams I have in my stash. For me, this is the eye cream I like most to date.

Curtain Call: H2O+ BEAUTY Oasis Hydrating Treatment

Hey guys! Hope you’re all having a great weekend so far! Today’s post is on a product I got from my ipsy April 2018 Glam Bag. Here’s my thoughts on the H2O+ BEAUTY Oasis Hydrating Treatment.

H2O+ BEAUTY Oasis Hydrating Treatment

Stated from their website:

    WHAT IT IS:
This water-gel moisturizer instantly quenches skin and provides ongoing moisture. Clinically proven to more than double skin’s hydration and hydrates skin for 24 hours.

    KEY BENEFITS:
This innovative lightweight formula absorbs rapidly and is great for dry to oily skin types. It features a high-performance formula powered by dual-hydration technology that combines replenishing actives to add moisture while attracting additional hydration, plus protecting actives that support skin’s barrier to preserve moisture.

What I love about this product? The product itself is a clear blue gel in appearance. It looks to be very hydrating (makes me think of water droplets!) and has a light marine or sea themed scent. I use a generous dollop of this (it is not watery but not thick like a lotion — somewhere in between, like a gel bead droplet almost) and patted it gently all over my face with my fingertips. I use this as my step 4 in the Korean 10-step skin routine I’ve been doing for months now. If you apply too much of it, it will feel sticky on your face so go easy when you’re using it for the first time. It absorbs really quickly into my skin and has a cooling feel to my face. It feels quite refreshing. I’ve used this product for over a month (love how long it lasts) and I love how light it is while keeping my skin supple.

What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really. I have since moved on to trying out several other products for the facial serum step ever since I ran out of this and this is still one of the best I’ve tried.
