Hey guys! Today’s post is on the entire Summer 2018 collection from Zoya! I had most of this photographed 2 weekends ago but had to retake some shots due to the lighting on some shades were near the end of the day and it was too red. I haven’t been motivated enough to set some time aside to feature an entire collection this year until this collection came along. I have a surprising favorite from this bunch. In random order, here are swatches for the Zoya Sunshine Collection.
First up is Ellie.
Ellie looks to be a dark magenta in the bottle. It is described as “a full coverage raspberry sorbet cream”. Formula for this shade is really nice and those that know me knows that I love fuchsia and magenta shades the most. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Next we have Saldana.
It’s an icy blue glitter shade shade that applied beautifully. It is described as “a buildable, cotton-candy blue iridescent-holo topper with hints of pink and blue colored glitter with mega hex particles”. Formula is very nice for a glitter shade. Not too chunky and not sparse at all. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Then there’s Minnie.
Minnie is a nice crème shade that I felt doesn’t scream summer to me. It’s like a neutral shade to me but the formula for this is great. It is described as “a full coverage pink toned coral cream”. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Then we have Karen.
Karen was one of the harder shades to capture in this collection. Then again, I have trouble with red shades in general. It is described as “a full coverage poppy red cream”. Formula for this shade is really nice, giving it a buttery smooth application. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Next up is Nahla.
Nahla is the other glitter shade in this collection. I think it’s a good glitter topper for darker shades like red ones, which this collection has a lot of. It is described as “a buildable, golden iridescent-holo topper with hints of multi-colored glitter with mega hex particles”. Formula for this shade is very nice, similar to the other glitter shade this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Then we have Sandy.
Sandy is a beautiful crème shade that has a nice shine to it. It’s the pink shade closes to what I call Barbie pink in this collection. Described as “a full coverage blue toned flamingo pink cream”, formula for this shade beautiful as it applied nicely on like butter. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Up next is Marigold.
What a stunning shimmer Marigold turned out to be. I am in love with this shade so hard. It is described as “a bright and dazzling micro-shimmer red in a full coverage formula”. The finish makes me think of glass fleck shades and I long to pull those out from my stash now. Formula is beautifully smooth. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Then here’s Missy.
Missy is another pink crème in this collection. It is described as “the perfect summer pink in a full coverage cream formula”. Formula for this shade is on par with the rest in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Here comes Delia.
Another beautiful crème shade with a nice shine, Delia makes me think of summer pastels. It is described as “a full coverage muted amethyst cream”. Formula for this shade is really, really nice. It applied beautifully. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Next up is Clementine.
Clementine is another shimmer in this collection. It is described as “a full coverage salmon toned coral with a pink and orange micro-shimmer”. Formula for this shade is really nice, giving it a smooth application. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Another one that’s slightly hard to capture in photos is Virginia.
Virginia is a red shade that seems to have a semi matte finish in some shots. It is described as “a full coverage juicy coral red cream”. Formula for this shade is consistent with most in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
And to see how the glitter shades will look over some others in this collection, here’s Nahla over Virginia.
Last up is Jack.
Jack is the nude crème in this collection. Shades like this generally don’t look good on me at all. It is described as “a full coverage nude cream, perfect to match your morning latte”. Formula for this shade is a little finicky for me. I kept having to reapply it for a nice, smooth finish. It’s just thicker than the rest of this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
And here’s Saldana over Jack.
Overall, there are a lot of red shades in this collection. I feel like they could’ve done with a yellow or lime green (or both) but the glitter topper works well on the red shades.

A little late but better late than never! As I mentioned before I’ve been busy the last 2 months. There was a lot of celebrations and I also made a trip back to Philly to see my cousins and their families. I stayed there for almost a week and it was a blast! My eldest cousin also gave me a bunch of barely worn and new clothes so I’m set. I won’t have to shop for clothes for a long time (she did that the last time I visited too). Anyway, here’s what I got in my ipsy May 2018 Glam Bag.
Now, this bag speaks to me a lot! I’m a snail mailer and this is perfect to hold some of my snail mail items on the go. 🙂 First item that caught my eye is the Grace & Stella Co. Dead Sea Mud Mask. I love, LOVE, L-O-V-E mud masks and I’m very excited to try this soon! Next item that caught my eye is the Lord & Berry 20100 Maximatte Crayon Lipstick. The shade I got this in is Intimacy. Others got the shade called Spicy. Then we have the Nelson j Beverly Hills Moisture Healing Mask. I’ve been using the Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner and Dove Hair Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Detangler on my hair faithfully for the past few months (for every few days) that I’m ready for a change. Next we have the tre’StiQue Mini Matte Blur Stick. I find this item very interesting and it’s supposed to minimize the appearance of pores so I’m trying it out soon. Last up is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum. I’ve used products from this brand before and they’ve ranged from being okay to good. I’m hoping for better things with this one.
So not bad at all still! I hope ipsy continues the trend with sending me products that suits my preferences. I’m looking forward to next (this!) month’s bag now!
Hey guys! It’s a nice pleasant Saturday in June! It’s not as hot as it usually is so we’ve gone out earlier today to just go see stuff and I also gave our dog Yeager a bath out in the backyard. I’m just doing a few loads of laundry and will settle in for a quiet night finishing up the last season of “The Great British Baking Show” on Netflix. Today’s post is on a product I got from my ipsy September 2016 Glam Bag. Here’s my thoughts on the Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Tonic.
What I love about this product? It is a “rehydrating and soothing toner” that comes in an easy-to-use spray bottle with straightforward instructions. “Lightly mist onto clean skin and allow to absorb thoroughly. Can be used anytime skin needs a hydrating boost.” The sharp, refreshing scent is light and dissipates quickly once it is absorbed into the skin. I did get a tingling feeling when using this the first few times especially after a PMD treatment. I use this as my step 3 in the Korean 10-step skin routine I started a little while ago (mine is about 8 steps really but you get the point). The first 2 times I used it as is, spritzing it onto my clean face but I disliked getting the product onto my lips even when I tried to hide my lips by smacking them together (best way to describe it at the moment). I then started just spritzing it straight onto the clean palm of my hand and patting it onto my face, using my clean fingers to distribute it evenly by patting all over. It’s absorbed pretty quickly.
What I don’t like about this product? Honestly, nothing really. Since I am out of toner for step 3 of my daily skincare regimen, I am looking to putting in an order for it since it worked really well with everything else I’m using. I can’t seem to find the same exact product available on their website currently, but I do see they have a Dragon’s Blood Essence Mist that works as a toner as well. It doesn’t have the same ingredients so I’ll have to read about it more before I decide to try that.
More information on this item and other products the brand carries is available on their website here.
I know this is late but I had taken the pictures already so we’ll go ahead with it anyway. Here’s what I got in my ipsy April 2018 Glam Bag.
I LOVE this bag! It’s quite beautiful really. I saved it to give it to my MIL. It makes me think of mothers for some reason (I think it might be the rose gold and the butterflies?). The first item that caught my eye is the H2O+ BEAUTY Oasis Hydrating Treatment. I’m very much into skincare right now so this is right up my alley. Next is the Purlisse Coconut Oil + Coffee Sugar Body Scrub. I love body scrubs so this went straight into my shower. Then we have the Smashbox Cosmetics Always On Liquid Lipstick. I’m still debating if I want to keep this or not. The shade is called Miss Conduct and I’m not sure if it suits me or not (plus, I have a ton of lip products already). Next we have the Manna Kadar Eye Candy Priming Shadow Stick. The shade I got is called S’more. Last up is a Steve Laurant Blush. TI’ve never heard of this brand before but it seems like it would be a really nice blush. The shade I got this in is called Rosé All Day. The other shade some others got is called I’m Blushing.
Overall, I’m very pleased with what I got — especially the bag! I hope next month’s bag continues this trend!
Hey guys! I have been very busy this past 2 months so the posts have been coming slow. I have a backlog of it now. To kick things off again, today’s post is on what I’ve received in the Influenster Iconic VoxBox 2018 a while ago. Here are the contents of the box:
My favorite item is the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores. I actually already own this product and was about to run out so this came just in time! The most interesting item is the Patchology Wink & A Kiss Kit. I will post a full review on it soon! It was very interesting to try — something out of the box for me. Stay tuned for detailed reviews in some blog posts in the future!
