Zoya Party Girls Swatches

Hey guys! Today’s post is on the entire Winter 2017 collection of Zoya! I had most of this photographed over a week ago but I wasn’t happy with the lighting in some of the shots so I had to retake them. In most cases, I got what I wanted but there’s one stubborn shade that just wouldn’t show up correctly in the pictures. But enough about that! This collection has a lot of reds but I could still see how it suits the holiday season. It’s supposed to be “mysterious, moody and electric” but man…..I wish there’s a Christmas green in here! Here are swatches for the Zoya Party Girls Collection.

First up is Isadora.

Zoya Isadora

Isadora looks to be a purple shimmer duochrome in the bottle. It is described as “a rich, refined pearl in magenta plum”. Formula for this shade is really nice, although it has the kind of finish that shows brush strokes. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Next we have Ming.

Zoya Ming

The name suits the shade. It’s a red crème shade that applied beautifully. It is described as “a sexy midtone, scarlet red cream”. This might be my favorite red crème shade ever. Formula is nice. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Then there’s Danielle.

Zoya Danielle

Danielle is a beautiful crème shade that my youngest niece would surely love. It is described as “a deep, dark periwinkle cream”. Formula for this shade is really nice, giving it a buttery smooth application. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Then we have Solstice.

Zoya Solstice

Solstice is the hardest shade to capture how it really looks in this collection. Just by looking at the bottle, it looks like an orange-red to me. In direct sunlight on my nails, the color is a dark salmon pink. But that does not come through at all in the photos — it looks red. It is described as “a sparkling persimmon orange metallic”. Formula for this shade is really nice, giving it a smooth application. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Next up is Kelsey.

Zoya Kelsey

Kelsey is the pink crème in this collection. I can see how it’s a good shade with some cute holiday party dresses. It makes me think of Barbie. It is described as “a muted, cerise pink cream”. Formula for this shade is slightly thicker than a lot of the other shades in this collection but it feels like it’s more sheer. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Then we have Tawny.

Zoya Tawny

Wowowowowowowowow! Tawny is ,y favorite shade in this collection. It has a glass fleck like finish to me. It is described as “a deep, coppery rose sparkling metallic”. Formula for this shade is similar to most of the other shades in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Another one that’s slightly hard to capture in photos is Landon.

Zoya Landon

Landon is an eggplant purple crème shade. It is described as “a mysterious, deep aubergine cream”. I have a pair of suede boots that is a cross between this shade and Danielle but leaning towards Landon more. I love it. Formula is beautiful like the rest of the crème shades in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Then we have Blake.

Zoya Blake

Blake looks like a black or close to a black shimmer to me. It is described as “a deep, refined pearl in sapphire blue”. I can’t really see the blue unless under sunlight but rest assured it’s there. Formula for this shade is really, really nice. It applied beautifully. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Zoya Blake (in shade)

Next up is Sheri.

Zoya Sheri

Sheri is another red crème in this collection, just darker than Ming. It is described as “a must-have midtone, garnet red cream”. Formula for this shade is really nice, giving it a smooth application. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Then here’s Delaney.

Zoya Delaney

Delaney is a beautiful and stunning shade that shines like jewels to me. It is more red on the nails than I originally thought. It is described as “a royal multichromatic (pewter, blue, purple, green), metallic flip”. Formula for this shade is consistent with most in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Next is Nadia.

Zoya Nadia

Nadia is the sheerest shade in this collection. It is described as “a buildable, sparkling, gingery gold metallic “disco” topper”. Formula for this shade is thinner than the rest in this collection. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Last up is Fallon.

Zoya Fallon

Fallon is the pink shimmer in this collection. The shimmer in this shade is super fine. I generally like this kind of shades but this is a little brighter than the magenta shades I like. It is described as “a refined pearl, midtone, violet magenta”. Formula for this shade is a little on the brush stroke-y side but it all evened out with the second coat. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Overall, there are some nice jewel tone shades here that is very fitting for the holidays and lots of shimmers. Some of the crème shades I feel are a little more out of place but I could see it being suitable for holiday parties and such. The only thing I wonder about this collection is that I feel like it’s missing the more traditional holiday colors like a Christmas green or a lighter blue or a silver (they did give us a gold topper shade in this collection). But the formula is pretty consistent throughout the entire collection and the colors are bright and cheery that there’s something for everyone I feel.

ipsy December 2017 Glam Bag

5 more days ’til Christmas! I’ve been off since last week and have finished all holiday related shopping so I’m just spending my time catching up on my recorded shows on the Investigation Discovery channel and have just started watching some Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. I was out-of-town for 2 nights at a cabin in Clayton Lake State Park (OK) and it was a beautiful stay. The cabin is right by the lake so it was convenient to go fishing there at night. The cabin we stayed at was far from the other cabins so we didn’t really see anyone else there really. Our dog loved every minute of it. He even took a few dips in the cold lake! Now I’m already starting to research which state park we should go to next! I returned to a few things piling up in the mailbox and this is one of them. Here’s what I got in my ipsy December 2017 Glam Bag.

ipsy December 2017 Glam Bag

I would’ve liked the bag more if it was more symmetrical. I don’t know if you can tell but the “height” of the bag on one side is different from the other side. I don’t know if it’s intentional but oh well…it’s still usable. First item that caught my eye is the Smashbox Cosmetics Be Legendary Lipstick. The shade everyone got is called Legendary. It’s a bold red shade that I simply love. Next item that caught my eye is the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser. I’ve actually tried out this product before and have reviewed it here. Then we have the Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL. The only Rodial product I’ve had the pleasure of trying out left me impressed so I’m looking forward to trying this out. I did not know they have a makeup line! Next we have the NIP+FAB Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Serum. I love facial serums so I’m eager to try this one out ASAP! It’s starting to get cold and dry again this weekend where I’m at so this is simply perfect timing to have received this in my glam bag. Last up is NYX Faux Blacks Eyeliner. The shade I got this in is Onyx.

So I was expecting a little bit more wow with the bag itself for Christmas but it’s better than last year’s bag in my opinion — so it’s all good! I think I’ll get to keep most of the items in my glam bag to try for myself, which is pretty rare really so I’m looking forward to it!

Curtain Call: Lierac Paris Mesolift Serum

Hey guys! Only 6 more days to Christmas! Have you all finished your holiday shopping yet? I am! I did most of it online this year. It’s just so much more convenient. Anyway, today’s post is another edition of Curtain Call. I got this product from either an Amazon beauty bag or from ULTA. I didn’t get a chance to try it until recently. Here’s my take on the Lierac Paris Mesolift Serum.

Lierac Paris Mesolift Serum

Stated from their website:

A concentrate of radiance containing 15% mesolift cocktail, enriched with blood-orange extract, for an immediate and universal “pick-me-up” effect: all skin types, all ages, all seasons.

What I love about this product? This is one of the best facial serums I’ve ever used and I say that with using it in such a short time frame too (I typically review a product like this after use of about 2 months to really cover its true effectiveness). It is not sticky at all and absorbs pretty quickly onto my face. It leaves my face nicely plump and soft. I do feel like my skin looks like it’s glowing somewhat with use. I did experience a warming sensation with use but it’s not bothersome to me. Like with other facial products, I take it as “THIS PRODUCT IS WORKING!”. I think it might be the high vitamin C content? Not really sure. This small tube lasted about a week and a half or so. I just apply a few drops of it onto my face after washing it both day and night. I didn’t care for the scent at all though but it doesn’t linger really and it’s quite light to begin with.

What I don’t like about this product? Probably the price. 1 fl oz of this goes for $60 on their website. I’m debating whether to purchase this or not still. I just might with how I feel about this product.

More information on this item and other products the brand carries is available on their website here.
