Today’s review is on something that fell short of my expectations. I try hard not to have any expectations when trying a new product but I’ve tried so, so many already from the Freeman brand that I expected it to perform well at the very least. Here’s my take on the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Kiwi & Yogurt Moisturizing Cleanser.
What I love about this product? It comes in the typical tube packaging with flip top cap so I can squeeze out how much I want to use very easily. The texture of this is a little more viscous than I’d prefer it to be. It is opaque in appearance with the palest mint green tint in color. It kinda does look like yogurt when I see it in the palm of my hand. The scent is fruity but I can’t really tell if it’s of kiwi or not. I like the fruit and eat it but when I smelled this product my brain didn’t go “Hey! This totally smells like kiwi!”. It is very gentle on the skin and not drying at all as there is no scrubby bits to it and it produces no lather. I find it a little weird as I’m not used to cleansers that don’t scrub or lather but it does clean the skin without being drying at all.
What I don’t like about this product? There is zero lather and it doesn’t strip off as much as I’d like it to, which is a personal preference. Because of this, I feel like my face is not clean enough. It’s the feel or sensation that I get when after using this.
Happy Sunday! I got this in about a week ago but didn’t get around to taking pictures until this weekend. It’s not a bad start of the year with ipsy! Here’s my take on the ipsy January 2017 Glam Bag.
The bag is something out of the box for me. It grew on me though and I can’t wait to use it. It’s the material mostly but it grew on me more by now and it kinda looks sporty! First item that caught my eye is the -417 Hand Moisturizer. I haven’t used it yet but I’m a sucker for hand creams and moisturizers especially at this time of the year. Next up is the Pretty Woman Nail Polish. The shade I got this in is called I Can’t Deal. It looks to me like a greige type of shade, not really my thing but I know someone who would look good with this shade. Then we have the Smashbox Cosmetics Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35. The shade I got this in is LIGHT/MEDIUM, which I think it the right one for me. I don’t use this type of product much but BB creams can be worn alone like a moisturizer, if I remember right, so I’ll give it a shot as such. Next we have the Trust Fund Beauty Lip Gloss. The shade I got this in is called Method To The Madness. It looks to be a pretty coral shade but I’m not sure if I’m going to keep this or not. As I said many times in my past ipsy Glam Bag posts, I have too many lip products open already. Last up is The Vintage Cosmetic Company Rose Gold Tweezers. I’m glad that I got this in my bag as everything about the product caught my eye — the packaging, the color, the item itself and more. I found out that it’s a brand that didn’t originate in the US, so I’m glad for the opportunity to try something from them. I will be putting these to the test tonight!
Overall, not bad! Next month is Valentine’s Day month and I think they usually do something around that theme for the bag. I’m really excited to see what it may be!
Hey guys! How’s 2017 going so far for you? Mine is going slow and steady, but no complaints at all over here! It’s Chinese New Year here today and I’m just relaxing at home, trying to catch up with small errands and hoping to squeeze some time on the elliptical in. I don’t typically make any goals or resolutions for the new year but I’m trying to stick with eating better (healthier) and working out more. We’ll see how it goes. So far, the working out part is on track but the eating part is kinda flip-flopping. Hehe. Anyway, today’s blog post is on one of my favorite items from Freeman. Here’s my take on the Freeman Feeling Beautiful Acai Purifying Clay Mask.
What I love about this product? It comes in the tube packaging that makes it easy to use. The color of the tube is so bold, colorful and eye-catching. The scent leans on the strong side but I like it. It’s an artificial take on various berries. Even with my sensitivity to strong scents, I can tolerate this as it’s only on my face for a little bit. I love how it tightens the skin on my face as it dries. It makes me feel like it’s working! I love face masks with clay as they suck up all the oils from my face. Directions are easy to follow on the back of the tube. Just apply the product to face and neck. Sometimes when I want to use a clay mask in the winter but am afraid it’d be too drying, I apply it right onto my face without washing it first. Leave it on until it dries and wash off with warm water. It is recommended to be used “two times a week or as often as needed”. This product leaves my face tight, clean, clear and soft — very purifying indeed!
What I don’t like about this product? If I have to be really picky, the strong scent. If they went lighter on the scent with this, it’d be close to perfect.

Good afternoon everyone! I started off the new year bright-eyed and bushy-tailed like a happy squirrel. I’m back at work now but work is just work — I never let that come in the way of my personal life and well-being. With that said, I recently got the chance to try this item I got in my ipsy August 2016 Glam Bag again. Here’s my take on the Global Beauty Care Dead Sea Wash Off Mask.
What I love about this product? The scent is pleasant and not too strong. It smells of what I think a spa would smell like — a little bit herbal but refreshing and light. I applied a thin layer on my entire face except for the eyes and lips. The instructions indicated to leave it on for 15 minutes or until it dries. The first 2 minutes was almost a deal breaker for me. My face encountered a slight burning sensation. It’s like tingling with pinprick needles or something. Being that I have encountered this sensation from other face masks, I just sucked it up and it faded away not too long after. If it had been like that for longer than 2 minutes, I would’ve washed it right off. I went about my cleaning around the house and decided to take a shower after that. This is 45 minutes after I initially put it on. Whoops! I was worried about leaving it on for that long but that thought lasted only for a few seconds. When I looked into the mirror I can still see spots where the mask isn’t wet visibly but if you touch it it’s like a paste form that’s damp still. No bueno. All mud-based masks I’ve used from various brands dry out completely one way or the other….especially after a long time such as 45 minutes. It’s kind of what I look for in having a mud-based face mask work to draw out the oils from my face. The spots that were still damp and cool to the touch (but if I rub it, it comes off kinda like a paste) were the spots where I applied the product slightly thicker than the rest of the space. I would consider it still a thin layer though. This is the second time I used this product with the same result. Only the areas where I applied the product on really thin was dry. I hopped into the shower and it all washed off easily. My face is left soft and smooth but I still see the one stubborn blackhead on my hairline. It disappears only with certain mud-based face masks but not with this one.
What I don’t like about this product? It is priced just right for this kind of product and the packaging is impressive so the only complaint I have is it isn’t as effective as face masks from other brands in removing blackheads at the very least. And I’m a little weirded out that the product wouldn’t dry for 45 minutes in areas where application wasn’t super thin. I would think that’s enough time for everything to dry out unless it’s a thick application!
