Summer is just going on strong and I’ve been trying to find a good balance between shampoo and conditioner for my hair. Given the opportunity to try a new conditioner, I jumped at the chance. Here’s my take on Terax Original Crema + Keratin™ Conditioner.
The description on the website reads as follows:
“The next generation of our award winning Crema conditioner, Original Crema + Keratin is the ultimate in hydration for chemically treated hair. This revolutionary new product features SmartKeratin™ technology which provides targeted deposits of keratin to only the most damaged areas of the hair fiber, leaving hair soft, shiny and easy to style. Our exclusive SmartKeratin is positively charged, and seeks out the negatively charged damage in your hair. Once the SmartKeratin is attached, it stays that way due to its inverse soluability. All of the excess Keratin that coats your hair with other brands, simply washes away with Original Crema + Keratin, leaving only the protein necessary for damage repair. This unique conditioner won’t overwhelm your hair with too much protein, which can cause suffocation of the hair fibers and can lead to future breakdown.
pH range 8.0 – 9.0
Original Crema™ + Keratin is easy to use – just apply on damp hair for a minute or two, then rinse out and follow with any one of our color locking leave in conditioners. For best results, remove as much water from the hair as possible before application.
Currently available in a 6.7oz/200ml tube and a 16oz/473ml bottle”
What I love about this product? The front of the tube reads “HANDCRAFTED”, “MADE FOR DAILY USE” and “SUFATE FREE”. This puts my concerns on using a conditioner with keratin everyday at ease. It smells really nice! The scent is what I would expect from a conditioner product — clean and soapy-ish. The most noticeable difference is definitely on the first use as with most products. My hair feels super soft and smooth with minimal tangling (almost no tangling and my hair is down the middle of my back long). I originally thought it might be too heavy to use during the summer but this is definitely not the case. I’ve been using it everyday for almost a month now and it performs as expected in terms of conditioning my hair nicely. I don’t think my hair is any much shinier (I was hoping it would be) but it did suggest to follow it up with one of their leave-in conditioners. I bet that the results are much more amplified overall when you’re using both. The price is a bit on the high side for a regular conditioner but I find that it lasts longer because I don’t actually need a lot of the product for my hair on each use. Also, I don’t consider this really to be just a regular conditioner based on keratin aspect of it.
What I don’t like about this product? Nothing other than it might not be as easy to locate one of these for purchase. Having ULTA and Beauty.com among some of the listed retailers is very promising though.
This retails for around $22 and is available at various retail locations and online stores. For a full list of online and in-store retailers, click here and go to FIND US.
