NYX Butter Lipstick Little Susie
Today’s blog post is on something new I’ve tried from NYX. It was from my ipsy March 2015 Glam Bag. Here’s NYX Butter Lipstick.
This is described as the following on their website:
“Pamper your lips with a hydrating kiss of smooth Butter Lipstick in 22 luxurious shades. The delicate texture of satin fused with the high color saturation creates an even finish on lips that’s long-wearing and beautiful.”
Swatches shown below shows 2 swipes then a lone swipe from left to right to show how buildable it is with more layers and pigmentation.
Verdict? The shade I got is Little Susie. The formula reminds me a lot of the Revlon Lip Butters but slightly creamier. Is is almost like a cross between a lipstick and lip balm. Formula is quite moisturizing. The slip is definitely more than one would encounter with most lipsticks. It’s not sticky at all and is not scented. Color payoff is okay but I think other shades from this line are better in this aspect. It applied a little on the light side but you can add more coats for opacity. I would definitely use at least 3 coats and maybe even use something for a base to grab onto the color more. This definitely doesn’t compare to NYC Expert Last Lip Color Traffic Jam 441 in terms of pigmentation for me. I get about 3 hours of wear from this before having to reapply it. I get less though if I eat or drink something.
It retails for about $6 or so and you can get them for an even cheaper price when they go on sale or you use coupons on them. This can be found in chain drugstores and mass merchandisers nationwide.
