ipsy November 2014 Glam Bag

Hey guys! It’s getting colder every single day. For my sanity, the tree is up and half of the presents are all wrapped and stuck under the tree. Yes, a reindeer died cause of that but guess what? I won’t have time to put up the tree after Thanksgiving. I just wanted it out of the way. I’m waiting for more stuff to come in to wrap them up when I stumbled upon another problem — I ran out of wrapping paper. Oh! How did this ever happen?! I have hundreds of ribbons and bows but no wrapping paper. I’m guessing I didn’t see it as a high priority item when I shopped from the after Christmas sales last year and I should’ve. Lesson learned. So with that happening, I had time in my hands to take a few pictures of what I got in my ipsy November 2014 Glam Bag.

The first item that caught my eye is the Elizabeth Mott you’re so FINE Eyeliner. The shade I got is Glitterati. The packaging caught my eye and while I’m eager to try this out, I have many products already in this category so I’ll toss this as an add-on to a Christmas gift for one of my nieces. Next item up is the TEMPTU S/B Highlighter. The packaging makes me think of baby milk bottles — it’s so cute! The shade I got is Pink Pearl. I have used highlighters before just to see how it works and I’ll be sure to try this one out. Then we have L.A. Colors Chunky Lip Pencil. The shade I got is Wine. I saw this and immediately thought of my niece that loves lip products, so I’ll be saving this one up for her. The consistency is said to be between a lipstick and a lip gloss, which reminds me of the Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain. I wasn’t too happy when I saw that I got the Demeter Pixie Dust Roll On Perfume Oil. While I loved some of their scents, they usually give me a headache shortly after application. I’ll save this one up for an extra in a gift or something. The last item in my bag is my favorite out of everything I got this month. I got the Nicole by OPI Nail Polish in Guys & Galaxies, which is an ipsy exclusive shade. I love this shade! It’s glitter and very pretty. The bag this month is a cute silver glitter zip top made by clothing and accessories brand Forever21 for ipsy. Material is like a plastic coated type where liquids roll of easily — a bonus feature to me.

While this bag has been the most disappointing one in months I’m still a huge fan of ipsy. I mean, I did like some of the products I got and it’s just a matter of what I can use more sometimes. This month’s offering just doesn’t apply to me as much, but with such great bags for months now….I can’t really get mad at ipsy for missing the mark in terms of personalization with this one. I can’t wait now for next month’s bag!

  1. My November bag was not that great either.

    • I was hoping for the hair spray thing or the IT Cosmetics concealer, but I suppose we can’t win ’em all eh? Here’s hoping that next month’s is better for both of us!

      • I got the hairspray in mine. That was one of the better items in it. The concealer was too dark for my winter skin. Yes, let’s both hope December’s is better!

I got the same bag as you! I am glad you mentioned that the perfume cause headaches as I have this trouble with a lot of scents and now I will simply put this in a Christmas gift bag instead. I have a lot of chunky pencils already so that may go in as well. The silver glittery bag is cute but I feel a bit old to be carrying it around. It feels rather preteen/teen to me. It is pretty in a way though just not my style. I can always use another liner as I love eyeliner and it is a staple in my makeup kit for everyday. As a polish lover first and foremost though, and glitter being my biggest weakness, I was most delighted to discover the silver glitter polish in my bag! That alone was worth it to me. I hadn’t heard of the shade before and tried researching but didn’t know it is exclusive. SCORE! You just made my day as LE’s and exclusives are my favorites. Thanks for sharing your IPSY unbagging post. I really like seeing what you got and hearing your thoughts/reviews.

    • You’re welcome Cindi! I haven’t had great luck with Demeter. They have some great scents over the years but every single one I tried that I loved gave me a headache a few hours in. It almost felt like that brand’s scents are only good for me to smell in general but not “wear” per se.

The glitter shade made this whole thing worth it for me this month as well! I love nail polish and it being LE is just icing on the cake for me. 🙂

    • It’s quite cute and I like that it’s more of a waterproof type of material (not completely but beads of viscous liquids will easily roll off it). I did like last month’s bag better, but this is not bad at all (and like you said…cute for the holidays!).

We got exactly the same bag. (My review is up on my blog now – http://www.episeofcake.com) I feel a bit too old to use the bag, or the eyeliner, but I was really happy with the polish! Here’s to hoping December’s is better!
