Milani Color Statement Lipstick Plums & Berries
You guys have seen my swatches of the Milani lipsticks in oranges and reds and also the pinks and corals. Read on for my review and swatches on the Milani Color Statement Lipstick Plum & Berry shades.
These are described as:
- One stroke, full coverage application
- Lightweight, creamy formula
- Contains Vitamins A, C & E to moisturize lips
Unlike with the oranges and reds and the pinks and corals groups, I find these slightly less creamy and easy to apply. The formula is still very good and very well pigmented with a super opaque payoff, but it feels like…..the only way I can desribe it is the formula has more wax. It’s less “spreadable” than the first 2 groups and the lipstick itself felt more “firmer” per se (which explains why I thought it felt like it contains more wax). It’s not bad at all and I would think that this would be less noticeable on warmer days. The shades are bright and crazy against my skin tone. I actually thought that I’d find more that would go well in general with my face but this was not the case. They’re wearable but not as much as the shades in the first 2 groups for me. It glided on smoothly with me using a bit more pressure and my lips stay moisturized all day. As mentioned in my other review, there is no flaking or cracking that I get with some other lipsticks I’ve tried in the past. The finish for these shades vary from cream to vinyl to metallic to matte and shimmer. For a match up on what type of finish each shade is, see my press release post on this here. All 7 shades are perfect for day or night. Staying power is very impressive as usual. There is barely any wear at all throughout the day except for times when I have to consume food or take a drink. Even when that is the case, most of the color stayed on my lips and is still very pigmented. Swatches shown below are in ascending numeric order of the shades available in the plums & berries category. For each shade, I applied 2 slow strokes onto my arm since one stroke was barely visible for the first shade.
These retail for $5.49 each and should now be available in retail stores where Milani is sold. Otherwise, try nabbing it online on their website.
