Sally Hansen Moonstone

Another busy Thursday here! Hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend. I sure am! Today’s post is on a shade that I had reservations about initially. I thought it was going to be one frosty mess. Glad I’m wrong on that! From their Lustre Shine line, here’s Sally Hansen Moonstone.

Sally Hansen Moonstone

Moonstone is a very light white duochrome shade. The color shift is more evident when the shade is used over darker shades. On its own, I see hints of pink or lavender and a very faint tinge of green in some angles. Formula is pretty good and it dried pretty fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

This should be available generally wherever Sally Hansen is retailed.

Sally Hansen Azure

One of the later collections from Sally Hansen is their Lustre Shine line. I tried to contain my excitement until I actually saw swatches because I know for a fact that most of the time these awesome duochrome and multichromes fall short when it comes to the hype. Here’s Sally Hansen Azure.

Sally Hansen Azure

Azure is the one I thought was going to be my favorite from this line, but it disappointed me a bit in the color shift aspect. I don’t really see any color shift at all even in the bottle. But it’s such a pretty shade. It actually reminds me of Orly Royal Velvet, but it’s not even close to being a dupe. Royal Velvet leans a wee bit on the green and has a slight color shift while Azure is more blue and has nonexistent color shift. Formula is pretty good though and it dried pretty fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Sally Hansen So Much Fawn

I’ve always been a huge fan of Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure line. They constantly change their shades though and release limited edition shades that send polish lovers scrambling to hunt them down. This is one of their newer shades if I’m not mistaken. Here’s Sally Hansen So Much Fawn.

Sally Hansen So Much Fawn

So Much Fawn is not my favorite shade really, but it didn’t look as bad as I thought it would. For my long time readers, I’m reminiscing about Sally Hansen Terracotta. This is slightly redder and darker than that, so it has more contrast than the other shade. It applied smoothly onto my nails and dried pretty fast. Formula is comparable to a good creme shade. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Arm Candy

Happy Friday y’all! I am so looking forward to starting the weekend today! I hope the weather will be semi-cooperative with me so I can catch up with taking swatch and product shots for the blog. Today’s shade is a newer one from Sally Hansen. Here’s Sally Hansen Arm Candy.

Sally Hansen Arm Candy

Arm Candy is a super light pink shade. As you can see it’s on the sheer side, but I think it’s meant to be a sheer shade. It doesn’t bother me at all since I like it the way it is. It looks so cute, so milky! It applied nicely and dried pretty fast. Shown is 2 generous coats with no top coat.

Sally Hansen @Golden Globes 2013

Did any of you guys watch the Golden Globes this year? Sally Hansen is present as ever that night. Read on.

EDIT: Arm Candy swatch here.

“At the 70th annual Golden Globes, glamorous nails were the ultimate accessory. Three of the night’s biggest stars –Naomi Watts, Jennifer Lawrence and singer Adele — manicurists turned to Sally Hansen to create their signature nail looks for the red carpet.

Naomi Watts

Celebrity nail expert Tracey Sutter created the look for Watts, nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture–Drama. Tracey used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Arm Candy to create a natural effect.

Sally Hansen Arm Candy

To get the look, Sutter filed down Naomi’s nails very short before applying Sally Hansen’s Cuticle Instant Remover. Next, Sutter applied 2 coats of Sally Hansen’s new Complete Salon Manicure Nail Color in Arm Candy – giving Watts just the right amount of color she wanted.

Jennifer Lawrence

April Foreman was the expert behind Lawrence’s nail look, using Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Sheer Ecstasy for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture–Comedy or Musical nominee.

Sally Hansen Sheer Ecstasy

To get the look, Foreman shaped Lawrence’s nails “sqound” giving both a square and round look. Keeping her hands hydrated, Foreman applied Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Hand Crème before applying 2 coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Sheer Ecstasy.

Adele

Celebrity Manicurist, Kimmie Kyees used on Adele a sheer coat of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in So Much Fawn with two coats of Complete Salon Manicure in Copper Penny layered on top. Kyees finished off the look with an exclusive topcoat created for tonight that had gold in it to help enhance the color in Copper Penny for the best Original Song, Film nominee.

Sally Hansen Copper Penny

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure is an all-in-one formula that combines all the 7 benefits of a professional salon manicure—a base coat, a strengthener, a growth treatment, rich color, top coat, gel-like shine and chip resistance —in a single multi-tasking polish ($7.99).”

Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Cuticle Eraser + Balm

Hey guys! I’m on a nail care spree here. It’s that time of the year! I can’t stress enough how important it is to moisturize, moisturize and moisturize! I featured a nifty hand cream a few days back and now I have a cuticle eraser and balm to share with you guys. Here’s Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Cuticle Eraser + Balm.

Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Cuticle Eraser + Balm

The 0.28 oz / 8 g cuticle eraser and balm comes in a clear twist open plastic container similar to those of lip pots for some lip balms. The front text of the packaging reads “Removes dry cuticles & moisturize in 1 step!” and on the side it reads “White Tea & Cucumber are known to soothe and promote healthy skin as they defend against environmental stress.” while the back of the product packaging states the following:

WHAT IT IS
Combination remover and creme quickly eliminates excess, ragged cuticles & hangnails as it conditions nails and healthy cuticles.

HOW IT WORKS
Salon tested, 2-in-1 formula with white tea & cucumber, gently & quickly loosens & exfoliates stubborn, overgrown cuticles while leaving skin feeling deeply moisturized.

THE RESULTS
Instantly, healthy, beautiful, conditioned cuticles that look up to 80% smoother.*
*Based on consumer perception testing.

TO USE
Massage a small amount into cuticles until completely absorbed. Use a cuticle pusher, if needed, to help further loosen hard to remove cuticles. Use daily for maximum benefits.
Wash hands before applying polish.

What I love about this product? I don’t like the scent of cucumber at all, but the scent in this product is so light that it’s tolerable. I also have a few independent testers try it out and they gave high praises to this product. They love the smell and it kept their cuticles soft and nice. The cuticle eraser part really does work with regular use. I completely agree with their assessment. My cuticles have never been in better shape!

What I don’t like about this product? Nothing really. While I do think that there are other better balms out there, it’s a huge plus that it’s a 2-in-1 product.

This product retails for about $7.49, depending on where you purchase it and it is available in various retail and drugstores such as Walmart, Target, ULTA, CVS, and Walgreens. It is also available online at various websites that carry beauty and personal care products.

Sally Hansen Copperhead

Hey y’all! Hope you guys are all having a great week so far. Christmas is coming up really fast. I baked close to 200 cookies or so and brought it in to work. Gone by the end of day 2, so I’m a happy girl. :) I’ll be making more either tonight or tomorrow night. Today’s shade is a fun one from Sally Hansen’s Lustre Shine line. Here’s Sally Hansen Copperhead.

Sally Hansen Copperhead

Copperhead is a coppery brown duochrome shade. The duochrome property isn’t quite as strong as I expected it to be, but it’s there. It just looks so much more promising in the bottle. It has a slightly frosty property to the finish. It went on smooth and dried pretty fast. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Scarab

Hey guys! It’s Friday again! I’m so glad for this week to be over. Between being sick, working and all those online Thanksgiving sales….I need a break again. I only took one day off from work cause I wanted to make sure all my commitments are met there. Today’s shade is one of the newer releases from Sally Hansen’s Lustre Shine line. Here’s Sally Hansen Scarab.

Sally Hansen Scarab

Sally Hansen Scarab

Scarab is a very pretty teal blue shade. While in the bottle it looks like it’d be a duochrome, it falls short when applied onto my nails. You’ll probably have better luck seeing that effect under direct sunlight, but not as much as I thought for sure. It’s more of a shimmer shade in my opinion (with a slight frosty finish). Formula is great and it dried pretty fast for me. Shown is one thick coat with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Diamonds

Hey y’all! Happy Thursday! I’m so glad this week is flying by so fast. Guild Wars 2 coming on Saturday at 2 AM my time! :D I’m really excited. I have a learning curve, but it’s fun. Anyway, today’s post is on a shade that has been around for a while. Sally Hansen released it along with several new shades for the Diamond Strength line. Here is Sally Hansen Diamonds.

Sally Hansen Diamonds

Diamonds is a very pretty silvery shimmer shade. The finish is almost flakie like, but not quite really. This is where it differs from the old Diamonds. The old Diamonds has finer multicolored micro shimmer. It would look great layered over other shades. Formula is great and it dried really fast. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Bride To Be

Hey Guys! Happy Monday! It’s back to work and a few days away from the start of Guild Wars 2. I am so excited! It’s been a while that I am so into a game. Granted I’m not that good at it right now, but I’ll get better as time goes on! :) Today’s post is on a shade that makes me think of Medieval Knight armor. Here’s Sally Hansen Bride To Be.

Sally Hansen Bride To Be

Bride To Be is a pretty silver metallic shimmer. It applied smoothly and dried pretty fast. I don’t see it as a bridal shade though, so the name confused me a bit. But it’s a great shade to have still. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure (2012)

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday! Today’s post is on a shade from Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure line. This is a new shade for 2012 with a name that has been assigned to a previously released shade. This caused some confusion when it first came out this year because everyone had high hopes that it’s a rerelease of the orignal shade, but it isn’t unfortunately. Here’s Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure (2012).

Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure (2012)

Hidden Treasure (2012) is a pale whitish silver shimmer with a slight duochrome finish. It’s not bad really, but it certainly isn’t as good as the original Hidden Treasure (which is an awesome flakie). Formula is decent and it dried pretty fast for me. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Red Velvet

Hey guys! Today’s shade is another one from their Diamond Strength line. I originally didn’t think much about this shade cause I have so many red shimmers. I’m glad I tried it out. Here’s Sally Hansen Red Velvet.

Sally Hansen Red Velvet

Red Velvet is such a pretty red shade. I do think of Red Velvet cake with the name of this shade. The sparkle in this shade is almost “glowy” really. Kinda like having a glass fleck finish. Formula is good and it dried fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Platinum

Hey guys! It’s Tuesday and the week usually starts flying by fast from this point on. At least for me it always does. Today’s post is on a beautiful shade with a finish I love. Here’s Sally Hansen Platinum.

Sally Hansen Platinum

Platinum is a pretty sheer shade with a duochrome shimmer finish. The sheerness doesn’t bother me at all since it’s a duochrome shade. I usually use them alone or layer it over other shades and simply admire the duochrome property of the polish. Formula was decent to work with and it dried pretty fast. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Influenster Summer VoxBox 2012

I was excited to have been selected to receive Influenster’s Summer VoxBox 2012. I haven’t been keeping up with others on what is in this round, so I was pleasantly surprised with the contents. This is a beauty themed VoxBox and that’s right up my alley! Here’s the contents of my Influenster Summer VoxBox 2012.

Influenster Summer VoxBox 2012

I think this is the VoxBox that is most in tune with me and what I do in this blog. Previous VoxBoxes were so-so or almost completely missed the mark. I have already tried the shampoo and conditioner as well as the nail and cuticles hand creme. I will end this entry by saying I LOVE this round of Influenster VoxBox!

Sally Hansen 3K Or More!

I LOVE this shade! This shade is part of Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength line. Here’s Sally Hansen 3K Or More!

Sally Hansen 3K Or More!

3K Or More! is a very pretty golden nude shimmer that shines beautifully especially under sunlight. It contains tiny speckles of golden glittery goodness. This shade makes me think of weddings and the traditional Filipino garb complete with the fan and all. It was easy to apply and dried pretty fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Something Blue

Hey y’all! I’m back from Philly! I had a great time with my cousins and their kiddos. I was sad to leave, but I also missed a boy and his dog immensely when I was there. ;) Today’s post is on a shade from Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength line. Here’s Sally Hansen Something Blue.

Sally Hansen Something Blue

Something Blue is a pretty shimmery glitter shade. The base is blue-tinted and it has blue speckles of glitter spread out. It gives off a slightly frost look. It’s sheer and I consider it a pretty light color. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Wedding Crasher

Hey guys! It’s a new week and this is going to be a short week for a lot of people I know personally cause we get July 4th off and it’s smacked right in the middle of the week. Soooo…..some of us took Thursday and Friday off as well. I’ll be in Philly for that time, but I’ll have a post here and there still to keep things going. :) Today’s post is on Sally Hansen Wedding Crasher.

Sally Hansen Wedding Crasher

Wedding Crasher is a pretty pink glitter shade in a purple tinted base. It would look great over red and purple shades cause of the purplish tinted base. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Glass Slipper

It’s Thursday! One more day ’til the weekend. I’m actually very excited for the weekend this time. I’ve had a new role to play at my job and it’s going pretty good. It’s just been very busy on top of that too. I’ve also been stressed out a little bit with my dreams lately. When I say dreams, what I really mean are nightmares. I get the kind that really shakes you to the core and tug at your emotions once in a while, but it’s been every other day lately. Today’s shade brings a smile to my face amidst all the craziness in my life lately. Here’s Sally Hansen Glass Slipper.

Sally Hansen Glass Slipper

Glass Slipper isn’t a shade that’s really new to us nail polish lovers. However, this type of finish isn’t exactly readily available to all cause they are produced in limited quantities and typically sell out…..until now that is. The flakies in this aren’t the type that are tinted, where it changes color when layered over other shades and such. But it’s still very nice. This is the same as Princess Cut except that it’s in a clear base as opposed to the slightly pink-tinted base. Formula is decent. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Save The Date

Hey guys! Hope y’all are having a good week so far. I heard back from a friend of mine that I’ve been thinking about for a while and my boss friend Pobe just left for a conference or training, but I saw him before he left and gave him a hug. :) I like to watch out for my people in general. This week is flying by pretty fast for me! Today’s post is on a shade that’s part of Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength line. Here’s Sally Hansen Save The Date.

Sally Hansen Save The Date

Save The Date is a stunning burgundy shimmer with a hint of purplish magenta or something like that. I initially thought it’s a little bit too dark for my taste, but this quickly changed when I put it on my nails. Wow. That’s all I gotta say. Formula is good and gave me no problems during application. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Princess Cut

Hey guys! I’ll be out all week recovering from my surgery, but I’ll hopefully be churning out a post here and there. Today’s post is a pretty one from Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength line. Here’s Sally Hansen Princess Cut.

Sally Hansen Princess Cut

Another flakie polish! Yay! While this one isn’t as unique as most flakies we’ve seen, it’s still a pretty one to have. The base shade is tinted with pink. This would be a great shade over other red or pink based shades. It gives your mani a little extra oomph. It dries really fast and is decently packed with flakies. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

Sally Hansen Linen

Today’s post is again another shade from one of Sally Hansen’s newest line, Smooth And Perfect. I really like this line a lot, which I didn’t expect at all. It’s a good thing overall. Here’s Sally Hansen Linen.

Sally Hansen Linen

Linen is a pinkish off-white shimmery shade that’s slightly opalescent in nature. I like this one a lot due to the opalescent quality. It makes me think of duochrome finishes. It’s a bit on the sheer side, but I like it that way. You can tack on another coat or use it over another shade for full opacity. Formula is great and drying time is fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
