Pure Ice Not Now

Happy Wednesday! Another super busy week at work here. My boss is back in town to chip away this list I have accumulated from when he was gone. Today’s post is on a stunning shade from Pure Ice. Here’s Pure Ice Not Now.

Pure Ice Not Now

Not Now is a pretty green shimmer shade that is sure to wow any green color fans. This shade is vibrant and bold. It makes me think of peacocks and mallard ducks. Formula is good and it dried fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Pure Ice Five-Some

Hey guys! It’s Tuesday and the week is flying by fast! Today’s post is on a new favorite of mine from Pure Ice. Here’s Pure Ice Five-Some.

Pure Ice Five-Some

Five-Some is a very pretty glitter shade with a black base. There is blue, pink, red and silver glitter in it just to name a few colors of glitter it contains. Formula is great and it dried fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

It’s so festive!

Pure Ice Over The Top

Hey guys! It’s Monday again and I’m bracing for a super busy week. Today’s post is on another winner from Pure Ice. Here’s Pure Ice Over The Top.

Pure Ice Over The Top

Over The Top is one of the newer shades from Pure Ice with the “velour” or better known as matte finish. This makes me think of a metallic gold shade with a layer of matte top coat over it. This shade is packed with shimmer and looks great as is or with top coat on. Formula is great and it dried fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

And just when you thought it couldn’t look any prettier….

Pure Ice Over The Top (with top coat)

I really prefer the look with top coat on. The finish feels interesting though as is.

Pure Ice My Wonderland

Hey guys! Today’s post is on a glitter shade that I actually like more than I originally thought I would. It’s one of Pure Ice’s newer shades released a few months back, so you should be able to spot these in your local Walmart. Here’s Pure Ice My Wonderland.

Pure Ice My Wonderland

My Wonderland is simply gorgeous. I love glitter shades in general and this one is no exception. It is made up of turquoise glitter. Formula is great and it dried fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Pure Ice Touch Me Softly

Hey all! I just got back from the post office and while the lines are longer today…it’s not that bad for the last day of the tax season. I only stood in line for about 20 minutes to get my stuff postmarked with today’s date. Today’s shade is one of the few I swatched over the weekend. I’m liking the finish a lot! Here’s Pure Ice Touch Me Softly.

Pure Ice Touch Me Softly

Touch Me Softly is one of the newer shades from Pure Ice with the “velour” or better known as matte finish. It reminds me of a purple raspberry foil shade with a layer of matte top coat over it. This shade is packed with shimmer and looks great as is or with top coat on. Formula is great and it dried fast. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

Pure Ice First Time

Hey guys! It’s the middle of the week again. Today’s post is on one of the discontinued shades by Pure Ice. The new shades look so pretty, but this is just as deserving to have a post on. Here’s Pure Ice First Time.

Pure Ice First Time

First Time is a pretty green frosty metallic shade. Some may say it’s metallic, but nooooo…..I disagree. Metallics never give me this much of streakiness, so it’s a frost as well for me. Grab this shade while you still can. Shown is 2 generous coats with no top coat.

Pure Ice Tease

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday! Today’s post is on one of the discontinued shades by Pure Ice. I have no idea why they’d want to discontinue this beauty! The new shades better blow me off my feet – that’s all I’m saying! Here’s Pure Ice Tease.

Pure Ice Tease

Tease is super gorgeous fuchsia or magenta pink shade. I wouldn’t completely classify this as a shimmer, it’s more like a glass fleck jelly shade really. You need to apply more coats for full opacity. You can still see a bit of the balder spots in the direct sunlight shot. Shown is 3 coats with no top coat.

Pure Ice Tease (in shade)

Pure Ice Tease (direct sunlight)

There better be some stunning shades replacing this beauty!

Pure Ice Mint Dream

Here’s another shade that’s being discontined by Pure Ice. Get them while you can still. I think I need another bottle of this one for sure. Not sure why it’s being discontinued since it’s such a pretty shade. I do know for a fact that the new shades they’re releasing are awesome. I’ll feature them next week or so. Here’s Pure Ice Mint Dream.

Pure Ice Mint Dream

Mint Dream is this white frosty shade with a slight duochrome property. You can see the slight bluish-green tint of duochrome goodness in the shots below. I’ll revisit this shade again by layering it over other shades (not just black) to see what I can come up with. Because this shade is not extremely sheer (only slightly sheer), I would have to use a very thin coat for that purpose. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Pure Ice Mint Dream (in shade)

Any suggestions on what shade I should try layering this over with aside from black?

Pure Ice Super Star

One of the many discontinued shades from Pure Ice is Super Star. I’m glad I finally got this in my hands as I would be so sad to have missed it. I checked it at my local Walmart and it’s still there! But better go get it now since production has stopped for it!

Pure Ice Super Star

Super Star is a red shade that’s speckled with gold holographic glitter. Formula is not bad, but it’s a bit on the thin side. To get opacity, your best bet is to layer it over something else or use more coats of this. It will be a little bit bumpy to the touch, but not as bumpy as those super gritty glitter shades. Shown is 3 thin coats with no top coat.

I had trouble with lighting for the last shot, which sucks big time cause the shade is actually quite pretty.

Pure Ice Silver Mercedes

Hey guys! Today’s my birthday and I am officially out of my 20′s. :) It’s not bad at all and I’m taking it in stride. I chose this shade to feature today cause it seems fitting for the occasion. Silver also reminds me of bullets in particular and the best times I’ve had recently has been at the shooting range. Here’s Pure Ice Silver Mercedes.

Pure Ice Silver Mercedes

Silver Mercedes is a bright metallic silver shade that I think is edging up to be my favorite silver ever so far. There’s brush strokes, but it’s not like applying a frost at all. Application was painless and it glided onto my nails ever so smoothly. It’s stunningly beautiful. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Pure Ice Jamaica Me Crazy

Today’s post actually relates to something in real life for me. I was going to post about this shade and 2 co-worker friends of mine had a drink yesterday from Seagram’s called Jamaican Me Happy. What a coincidence that the shade I swatched for today is Pure Ice Jamaica Me Crazy.

Pure Ice Jamaica Me Crazy

Jamaica Me Crazy is a crazy pink shimmer shade with a blue duochrome-ish flash. It is very pretty and I think there is a shade from China Glaze that can be close to it. Formula was decent. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Jamaica Me Crazy (in shade)

This shade does remind me of Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games movie. The color really pops out like how her character is in the movie.

Pure Ice Crackle Duo Green & Silver

Pure Ice Crackle Duo Green & Silver is simply perfect for St. Patty’s Day! Today, I went to the gun range with my co-worker friends John and Willie. It was a lot of fun and I actually did better than I thought I would! One of the things I learned that relates to this blog is that some of the ammo are coated with lacquer to prevent rust. It was this military green jelly-ish creme shade….I actually thought about a shade I swatched earlier that would’ve been more attractive (but I took it off cause I didn’t want my flashy nails to distract people at the gun range). Pure Ice Crackle Duo Green & Silver consists of the green shimmer shade, known as Not Now or 511CP, and the silver crackle shade called Lighting Strikes.

Pure Ice Not Now

See what a pretty green shimmer this shade is? Formula for this one is a bit watery, but it self-leveled at 2 coats. It’s actually a very nice green honestly. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

Lightning Strikes is a beautiful silver crackle shade with a metallic finish. I applied it right when I figured that Not Now is completely dry.

I like this duo a lot. I’d love it if the base shade isn’t as watery as it is. Hopefully that’s the way it is in the batch of polish I ended up receiving and others will have ones with a less watery formula.

Mattese Elite Je T’Aime & Crackalacquers Layering

Okay, soooooooooo……I got this neat shade from Mattese Elite that actually pushed me to think about layering and stuff. I haven’t been that adventurous really when it comes to polish. Just slap a color on and make sure application is as good as I can get it. The end. That’s what usually happens. But I looked at it in the bottle and was so inspired to do something with it that I ended up with this….

Mattese Elite Je T'Aime & Crackalacquers Layering

Mattese Elite Je T'Aime & Crackalacquers Layering (rotated pic)

Um….yum?! I actually tried it with a black crackle first and the look reminded me of koi fishes and I got excited at the thought of doing it with other colors. The glitter pieces in Mattese Elite Je T’Aime kinda gave it a fish scale look at times. It did when I did the one with the black crackle, but I spread Je T’Aime more thinly over these instead and got the result shown. I used Pure Ice 582CP, a gold glitter, as the base then topped it with a layer of top coat. I had to or else the crackle would’ve attempted to be sucked in and spread around by the glitter base. The glitter shade dried a little bit rough and is what we refer to as a top coat eater. After that, I topped it with one nice layer of a Mattese Elite Crackalaquer shade. The ones shown (from left to right in photo above) are Dark Burgundy, Blue Star, Deep Purple and Metallic Orange. After the crackle shade is dry, I applied one coat of Je T’Aime. I used drying drops from Qtica to ensure that all layers are dry.

While this is cute, I’m still going to do the one with black crackle version that I first fell in love with. And while my co-worker friends loved this look on me, it’s not something they’d sport on their nails. So I know not all of you will like it, but I hope some of you guys do. Here’s my first stab at doing a layering mani on the blog. Hope you’re looking forward to more!

Pure Ice with Lisa Logan

I didn’t want to post much of the info I got from Fashion Week, but I couldn’t pass this one up. I actually have some of the shades mentioned!

Pure Ice’s Hot Nail Looks Ignite the Runway at Falguni & Shane Peacock’s Fall 2012 Show

Pure Ice by Bari Cosmetics is a line of cutting-edge nail enamels that are always on-trend and in style. As the nail sponsor of Falguni & Shane Peacock’s Fall 2012 show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Pure Ice became the go-to for fall and winter’s hottest nail trends. Celebrity manicurist Lisa Logan used a combination of Pure Ice nails colors to achieve a nail look that was rocker-chic and completely unique, keeping in line with the ideals of the Falguni & Shane Peacock brand.

Pure Ice with Lisa Logan Manicure

Inspired by dark, edgy glamour, Falguni & Shane Peacock’s Autumn/Winter 2012 Collection was based on pops of color worked into tribal prints. Since the Falguni & Shane Peacock brand was created with the philosophy that “life is too short to blend in” in mind, it’s no surprise that the nail look was dark yet beautiful with nails that were long, almond-shaped and painted to resemble flames.

Pure Ice Golden Ticket, Black Rage, Siren, and Bite Me!

Lisa created two nail options for the collection, all utilizing Pure Ice nail enamels, for a combination she described as “really grungy, but couture.” The first option was “Black Rage” (a black shade) as the base of the nail with “Siren” (a fiery red) at the tip, mixed with “Bite Me!” (a shimmery gold) and “Golden Ticket” (a gold glitter) on top. The second option was similar but Lisa used “Siren” as the base with “Black Rage” at the tip with “Bite Me!” and “Golden Ticket” on top. Lisa finished both looks by horizontally using a striping brush to create a look that resembled flames for nails that were bold, unconventional and provocative.

All Pure Ice nail enamels are free of formaldehyde, toluene and DBP and contain Bari Cosmetics’ patented salon long-wear formula for a look that will last all season long. Retailing at only $1.99, these polishes are the perfect way to bring looks from the runway your way!

Visit the new blog www.pureicecosmetics.com.

Pure Ice is available at Walmart stores and online at www.baricosmetics.com.

What do you guys think about the mani? When I saw it, I immediately thought of Katniss from the Hunger Games. LOVE!

Pure Ice Crackle Duo Silver Glitter & Teal

Here’s another duo set from Pure Ice. I like this crackle shade a lot and the base glitter shade is pretty awesome on its own. Pure Ice Crackle Duo Silver Glitter & Teal consists of the silver glitter shade, known as Beware or 537CP, and the teal crackle shade called Strike A Pose.

Pure Ice Beware

Beware is a silver glitter shade. It is made up of plain silver glitter in a clear base. The silver glitter is pretty packed, giving pretty good coverage on my nails. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Strike A Pose is a teal crackle shade with a metallic finish. It dries a little bit dull, not shiny. I applied it right when I figured that Beware is completely dry after a coat of top coat and it performed nicely.

Pure Ice Crackle Duo Gold Glitter & Black

This is another set from Pure Ice. I like this set more than the first one I tried simply cause it has a glitter shade!!! Y’all know me and glitter. :) Pure Ice Crackle Duo Gold Glitter & Black consists of the gold glitter shade, known as 582CP, and the black crackle shade called Strobe Light.

Pure Ice 582CP

582CP is a gold glitter shade. It is made up of warm and cool gold glitter in a clear base. Even thought it’s a glitter in clear base, I find that this shade has pretty good coverage. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.
