No-Miss Tequesta Topaz

Hey guys! Hope you’re all having a great week so far. I can’t believe the weekend is just right around the corner! I’m looking forward to finalizing my wedding venue and catering by tomorrow so I can get some invitations printed out. I’ve never given much thought to what kind of wedding I’d love to have and such even when I was very young. I think I was more focused on finding out who I want to spend the rest of my life with. This amuses my man quite a bit, but it’s who I am. And he loves me for it. ;) This week in the nail world, I’ve seen swatches of the China Glaze Crinkled Chromes and I’m still not feeling them at all. I’d really just prefer to have plain chrome shades. I just saw Finger Paints’ new flakie collection and it was meh to me. It seems to have a milky base and the flakies have a more pastel tinge to it, which makes it completely lighter than the original collection. I LOVE how bold and vibrant the flakies are in the original collection. The only OPI Brazil shades that caught my eye so far are the ones in the liquid sand mini pack. I saw a swatch somewhere and was like BRIGHT AND MUST HAVE! Some of Milani 2014 landed in my mailbox today, so I’ll be featuring those pretty soon. But for now, here’s something you won’t see everyday in my polish collection — No-Miss Tequesta Topaz.

No-Miss Tequesta Topaz

Tequesta Topaz isn’t a shade I gravitate towards to naturally. From far away, it’s a brown shade to me. Maybe dark coppery tan. Not really up my alley. But come closer and you see what beauty lies in this bronze number. It’s a beautiful shimmer that applied nicely onto my nails and dried really fast. It’s really opaque too! Shown is one coat with no top coat.

Color me impressed! When in shade, it almost looks like it holds some silvery tiny glass flakes in some angles. In direct sunlight, it glows in it’s full metallic shimmer glory.

No-Miss Plantation Plum

Hey guys! Happy Friday! This week flew by fast for me. I think it’s cause we just came back from vacation. It felt so off for a little bit. I kept thinking a certain day is a different day and such for about 2 weeks. I’m getting back into the swing of things with the blog, but it will be irregular for a little bit as I try to wrap up the wedding planning. YES! I just want to hammer down all the details and be done. I really have no patience for the parts where I have to wait. I loved planning it, but didn’t like the wait that I have to do with the vendors. Anyway, here’s another shade from a brand I’ve come to love: No-Miss Plantation Plum.

No-Miss Plantation Plum

Plantation Plum is a purple shimmer that’s pretty opaque. I love how it’s bold, but a little soft in different lighting. You can see a tinge of pink sometimes. It’s a stunning shimmer that applied beautifully onto my nails. Shown is 3 thin coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Indian River Ruby

It’s Thursday again! This week sure flew by. Next week will be an off one for many since Christmas Day is smacked right in the middle of the week. Most people I know would’ve made arrangements to take off the entire week or so. Here’s a shade that’s suitable for those looking for a little red for the Holidays: No-Miss Indian River Ruby.

No-Miss Indian River Ruby

Indian River Ruby is a nice red that’s suitable anytime of the year really. It’s kinda close to what I think of a Christmas red shimmer, but not quite there. It has a tinge of pink that deviates from most Christmas reds. Finish looks a wee bit streaky, but it didn’t bother me at all. Formula is pretty opaque and applied nicely onto my nails. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Largo Lilac

Thank goodness it’s Thursday! I can’t wait for this week to end. It’s been crazy busy with multiple things going on at the same time. My company Holiday party is this Saturday and I still haven’t figured out what dress to wear. I have tons of dresses though, most I haven’t even worn once, so I don’t think it’ll be a problem looking for one. I’ll try to keep today’s post short and sweet since I’m writing this right before I’m done for the day. Here’s No-Miss Largo Lilac.

No-Miss Largo Lilac

Largo Lilac doesn’t strike me as a lilac really, but it’s a really pretty color that makes me think of cold steel. I think this would suit this time of the year well. It would look nice and sleek for Holiday parties! Finish looks streaky, but it wasn’t a problem at all for me. I’m more concerned with the fact how streaky shades make application a living hell, but I didn’t get that with this shade at all. I’m not sure what to classify this at…metallic? It looks more like a foily shimmer. I’ll go with that for now. Formula is kind of sheer side but it’s very buildable. Shown is 3 thin coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Venice Vivid

Hey guys! So how did y’all fare at the Thanksgiving sales? I did mine all online except I popped into my local Walgreens for some of their Registered Rewards deals. I couldn’t resist some items I could use that’ll come out to be free. I’ve been really busy lately but decided to squeeze this post in. Here’s No-Miss Venice Vivid.

No-Miss Venice Vivid

Venice Vivid is a pretty bright fuchsia shimmer that dances in the sun. I love how bright it is. Many of you know that different seasons of the year has never stopped me from wearing what I want on my nails. It makes me think of happy things. It’s simply gorgeous. Formula is a little bit on the sheer side but it’s buildable. Shown is 3 coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Gretna Green

Hey guys! Today’s post is one of my favorite shades from No-Miss. I just love this perfect shade of green! Here’s No-Miss Gretna Green.

No-Miss Gretna Green

Gretna Green is gorgeous olive-green like shimmer that’s suitable for this time of the year. I can see myself wearing this shade aside from the traditional red or gold for the Holidays. It looks almost like a foil shade in terms of finish, but not quite really. This shade is pretty opaque and formula is really nice. Shown is 3 coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Crystal River Cranberry

Hey guys! Today’s one of my sister friend’s birthday! I didn’t get to bake her a cake yesterday, but I will tonight. This week’s been crazy so far. Today’s post is on a shade that’s right up her alley. Here’s No-Miss Crystal River Cranberry.

No-Miss Crystal River Cranberry

Crystal River Cranberry is gorgeous burgundy shimmer that’s perfect for this time of the year. My sister friend loves darker shades a lot — vampy ones especially. This shade is really pigmented and formula is simply smooth and nice. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

No-Miss Surfside Sea

Hey guys! Today’s my boss friend’s birthday! I baked him a cake and everyone seemed to like it a lot. It’s the typical chocolate marble cake I usually make, which I know a lot of people like. I managed to wear a skirt today to work even thought the weather is on the cold side. Anyway, I was thinking about the local natural and organic grocery store by me and it carries the brand No-Miss. So today’s post is on No-Miss Surfside Sea.

No-Miss Surfside Sea

Surfside Sea is a very pretty pale jade green shimmer with a formula that’s quite sheer. I usually use 2-3 coats when I paint my nails even when the shade is on the sheer side. Instead of not liking sheers cause they’re sheer….I embrace it. I don’t mind sheer shades if they’re pretty or if I find them appealing. But some people hate sheer shades completely. Formula is really nice and it applied easily onto my nails. Shown is 4 thin coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Wakulla Watermelon

Hey guys! Happy Halloween! I didn’t dress up this year (well, I’ll borrow the Rigby of Regular Show costume to greet treak or treaters later tonight), but I did think about it briefly around midnight last night. I was thinking that I have all the clothing and makeup for some 80′s female rock singer, but it would require me to wake up at crack of dawn to get everything ready in time for work (and I didn’t even have a trial run for that!) so….no. Not happening this year. I did make some beef chili from scratch last night and even though it didn’t win, it was a hit among those who aren’t huge fans of beans or spice in terms of pepper heat. And I found it to be tasty, so I see it as win-win. I plucked up swatch pictures I took from another shade of No-Miss for today’s blog post. Here’s No-Miss Wakulla Watermelon.

No-Miss Wakulla Watermelon

Wakulla Watermelon is a very pretty shimmer that’s named after Wakulla County, FL I believe. No-Miss names a lot of their shades after places in Florida, which I think is pretty cool. It actually makes me think and wonder about these places that I look them up online. This beauty is a dark berry red shimmer that makes me think of vibrantly colored flowers that thrive in warm places like Hawaii or Florida. Direct sunlight shot shows the color most accurately. Formula is really nice and it applied smoothly onto my nails. Shown is one generous coat with no top coat.

No-Miss Temple Terrace Turk

Hey guys! It’s another new week here and I have to squeeze in a dentist visit as well. I’m always reluctant to eat after I get my teeth cleaning. Anyone else with me? It just feels so squeaky clean and nice….I just want to keep it like that as long as I can. I swatched this beauty over the weekend (and man, weather was cold!!!). Here’s No-Miss Temple Terrace Turk.

No-Miss Temple Terrace Turk

Temple Terrace Turk is a gorgeous greenish blue shimmer. This shade makes me think of the sea. I love it. It applied just fine onto my nails and dried pretty fast. I did get some staining from it though, but nothing a base coat can’t fix! It didn’t photograph too well, but the direct sunlight shot is color accurate. I’m glad I do take a sunlight shot cause the vividness of the true shade is lost in the shade shots. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Fire Ball

Hey guys! Once again it’s Wednesday! It’s a busy week for me the next 5 weeks cause of work, so my posts will be shorter than it already is. Today’s shade is another glittery one from No-Miss. Here’s No-Miss Fire Ball.

No-Miss Fire Ball

Fire Ball is a pretty glitter shade that has the perfect balance of gold and red. This shade is made up of red regular and white gold larger sized hexagon shaped glitter suspended in a clear base. I thought the larger sized glitter was silver originally but it’s more of a whitish gold. It applied just fine onto my nails and dried pretty fast. Shown is one generous coat with no top coat.

No-Miss Boynton Beach Blue

Hey guys! It’s Wednesday again and I have officially come to accept that summer is definitely over. It certainly does not show with my choice in nail colors though. I am a true believer in wearing whatever you want year round (unless it simply clashes with what you’re wearing). Kissing summer goodbye for sure today we have No-Miss Boynton Beach Blue.

No-Miss Boynton Beach Blue

Boynton Beach Blue is a fun light blue shade that is basically the blue version of Riviera Beach Banana. It’s a pastel crème shade with a relatively good formula. It applied smoothly onto my nails and dried at a decent amount of time expected from a crème shade. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Star Light

Hey guys! It’s Wednesday again! It definitely feels cooler now in this part of the country and it makes me miss the heat. But at the very least it’s not bitter cold yet. I’d take anything over that. The only good thing about the cold weather is the Holiday season and that it promotes cuddling together for warmth. Maybe the dog will start jumping up on our bed and falling asleep with us again! I do miss that. Today’s shade is a glittery one that makes me think of the Holiday season. Here’s No-Miss Star Light.

No-Miss Star Light

I could’ve sworn that this shade is spelled as Starlight instead of Star Light, but their website lists it as 2 words instead of one so Star Light it is! Star Light is a very fun glitter shade that makes me think of the cool, pretty side of Christmas. I know the Holidays are usually associated with reds, greens, silver and gold but I remember the very first time I saw a blue and silvery white Christmas tree. I was mesmerized by it. The color combo is cool and pretty compared to reds, greens and golds. Those are more “warm” to me per se. So I do enjoy the less traditional Christmas or Holiday colors a lot too. This shade is made up of blue regular and silver larger sized glitter suspended in a clear base. It applied just fine onto my nails and dried pretty fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Riviera Beach Banana

Hey guys! Happy Monday! I don’t know about you guys, but it still feels like summer here in good ‘ol Oklahoma. The high is supposed to be 84 degrees today! I whipped this shade out before time runs out for the summer feel. Here’s No-Miss Riviera Beach Banana.

No-Miss Riviera Beach Banana

Riviera Beach Banana is a fun shade that screams summer to me. It’s more subtle in terms of summer equating to bright or neon colors. It’s a pastel crème shade with a thin formula. It applied just fine onto my nails though and it didn’t take too long to dry. Shown is 3 thin coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Fushia

Hey guys! It’s Wednesday again! This week is different from any other though cause I’m in Philly! Woo! I’m here to visit my dear cousins and their kiddos and……to take part in one of their wedding! The wedding is this Friday and it’s for the youngest of my 3 cousins living here in the East Coast. I love them all to bits and am so happy to spend whatever time I can with them. Today’s post is on another shade from No-Miss. Here’s No-Miss Fushia.

No-Miss Fushia

Fushia is a shade that I really like a lot with a twist in the name. It’s not spelled the way I’m usually familiar with, so it sticks out like a sore thumb in my memory. That’s Marketing at work, huh? This is a shade that’s jam-packed with fuchsia glitter suspended in a clear base. The formula is just perfect for a glitter shade and it dries fast. Shown is 3 thin coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Gainesville Green

Hey guys! It’s Wednesday again! Today’s post is on a summery number from No-Miss. Here’s No-Miss Gainesville Green.

No-Miss Gainesville Green

Gainesville Green is a shade that reminds me of my Code Monkey bro Pedro. He left my current workplace for a neat arrangement in Gainesville, Florida. I have yet to visit him still, but I know he’s having a blast out there. This is a nice mint green type of crème polish. The formula is just right in terms of viscosity and it applied nicely onto my nails. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Joker’s Wild

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday! Today’s post is on a glittery number from No-Miss. Here’s No-Miss Joker’s Wild.

No-Miss Joker’s Wild

Joker’s Wild is such a fun, glittery shade. It makes me think a little bit of Mardi Gras. This looks nothing like what is shown on their website at all, so this post should help you guys out. Thinking about it, a lot of their glitter shades look nothing like what’s shown on their website really. The non-glitter shade shots are pretty much on par though. Anyway, this shade is made up of regular purple glitter and larger gold hex glitter suspended in a clear base. The base does look ever so slightly tinted, but I wouldn’t count it as such at all. The formula is good and drying time is what is expected from a glitter shade. I’ll have to try this over a green shade later. It seems like a good fit. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

No-Miss Sarasota Sorbet

Hey guys! It’s the middle of the week again! I have a brighter shade that’s suitable for summer to show y’all today. Here’s No-Miss Sarasota Sorbet.

No-Miss Sarasota Sorbet

Sarasota Sorbet is a fun, bold pink crème shade. It’s bright, but not eye-searing, and gives a finishing touch of pop to your summer ensemble. The formula is a bit on the thin side, but it’s not horrible to work with at all. I just ended up using more coats than usual because of that. It does dry pretty fast. Shown is 3 thin coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Purple Xtasy

Hey guys! Hope you’re all ready for the weekend. I know I am! It’s been one of those roller coaster ride weeks for me with work. Lots of ups and downs and just repetitive work – and of course something happens today that makes me look forward to the weekend even more. *sigh* Figures….it’s like Alanis Morissette’s song “Ironic”. Anyway, here’s No-Miss Purple Xtasy.

No-Miss Purple Xtasy

Purple Xtasy is pale purple or lilac glitter shade. It has bright iridescent glitter in a lightly tinted purple base. It’s pretty mesmerizing to look at especially under direct sunlight. Formula is a little bit on the thicker side, but that’s pretty normal for glitters and it didn’t give me any problems during application. It dried really fast, but be careful with applying thicker layers as I did. It seems easier to chip that way with this shade at least (you can see it in one of my nail corners at the tip). Shown is 2 generous coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Biscayne Blue

Hey guys! Hope you’re all having a good day so far. I have a brighter shade to show y’all today. Here’s No-Miss Biscayne Blue.

No-Miss Biscayne Blue

Biscayne Blue is an icy white blue frost. It looks like a frost, but it doesn’t act like one really. It does have that brush stroke property that most frosts are known to have. Formula is very pleasant for a frost and dries really fast. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Coral Springs Copper

Happy Friday! Today I have another shade from No-Miss. It belongs to the red family, so it’s easy to see why I love this shade a lot. Here’s No-Miss Coral Springs Copper.

No-Miss Coral Springs Copper

Coral Springs Copper is a burnished red shimmer. I LOVE this shade. It’s a rustic shimmer that has lots of depth. Formula is good and it dries pretty fast. It leans towards being a metallic shade as it does show some brush strokes. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Key West Silver

Hey y’all! Today I have another shade from No-Miss. This one’s a little tricky because while the color falls under the metallic category, this looks like a frost in a quick glance. Here’s No-Miss Key West Silver.

No-Miss Key West Silver

Key West Silver is a white silver metallic shade. Because of how bright or “white” this silver shade is, it actually can be easily mistaken for a frost. Formula is good and it dries pretty fast. As with some metallic shades, you can see streak lines when the shade is applied on the nail (probably why some immediately thought it was a frost). Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Tamiami Tulip

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday! Last week has been crazy for me. I was on a road trip with my man to MO for his friend’s wedding where he was part of the bridal party, so I stopped posting here for a few days. It was crazy fun, but man….the crazy weather sure followed us over there! We got tornado warnings where we were located and back at home too! I still can’t believe that another tornado went through parts of Moore again….very close to the big one a few weeks ago. But that’s all over and I’m now back with today’s shade from No-Miss. Here’s No-Miss Tamiami Tulip.

No-Miss Tamiami Tulip

Tamiami Tulip is a purple shimmer that makes me think of flowers such as orchids and irises. This shade is quite pretty but I do find myself wishing that it was bolder or more pigmented. It applied onto my nails nicely and dried pretty fast. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

No-Miss Blue Stardust

It’s Friday guys! Today I have another beauty from No-Miss. Here’s No-Miss Blue Stardust.

No-Miss Blue Stardust

Blue Stardust is a light blue glitter shade. It has iridescent glitter suspended in a light blue jelly base. It went onto my nails nicely and dried pretty fast. This would be a good one to use for glitter sandwich manis. Shown is 3 thin coats with no top coat.
