Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream

Hey y’all! How were your holidays this year? I hope that everyone is having a blast with family and friends. Not to mention all the food and presents! It’s been a great holiday for me and I look forward to a brand new year soon. For the first time being in Oklahoma for the holidays….I experienced a white Christmas! And believe me, it was the first time that I didn’t mind the cold so much either. I’m just….happy. :) And this brings us to today’s post. I know it’s a late one for the day, but I thought it’s an important one for everyone. With the cold weather, I find myself reaching over for my hand creams and lotions – whichever I can get my hands on really. Today’s post is on Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream

The 2 oz / 56 g hand cream comes in an easy squeeze tube container with a screw top cap. The front text reads “fragrance free” and “just a dab heals dry skin” while the back of the product packaging states the following:

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream delivers effective relief for dry, chapped hands.

It is so concentrated that only a small amount instantly leaves even dry, cracked hands noticeably softer and smoother after just one application. Used daily, it helps prevent dry, chapped skin; used overnight, it heals dry skin – even under the harshest of conditions.

It started with Norwegian fishermen. Faced with some of the harshest, coldest weather on earth, they used a formula that delivers concentrated levels of glycerin to dry, chapped skin providing immediate and lasting relief. Five years of independent clinical testing confirmed what the fishermen knew all along – Norwegian Formula Hand Cream consistently outperformed other products. Today, the Norwegian Formula product line includes a variety of body, hand and foot moisturizers to meet your individual dry skin needs.

Just a little goes a long way. This 2 oz tube contains over 200 applications.”

What I love about this product? Neutrogena products have always been known to be of high quality and this is no exception. The hand cream is clear in color, gel-like really. Formula is smooth and not greasy at all, but very moisturizing. A little goes a long way. My tube is not even close to being done and I’ve used it about 40 times at least. Scent is nonexistent, which is great for everyone pretty much. I know a lot of people around me that prefers to have a good scent free moisturizer and have a hard time finding one. This product and others from the same line might just be the end of their search. It is reasonably priced and available at mass retailers nationwide.

What I don’t like about this product? Nothing at all. This is definitely on my list to buy once I run out.

This product retails for about $5.49 and can easily be purchased in various retail and drugstores such as Walmart, Target, ULTA, CVS, and Walgreens. It is also available online at various websites that carry beauty and personal care products.

Curtain Call: Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub

Hey guys! Here’s another segment of Curtain Call. The product up for review this time is Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub. I’m on a constant search for my holy grail facial scrub. No sure winners yet, but I do have a few close ones on a short list.

At 4.2 fl oz / 125 ml, $6.99 is the going retail for this product. It’s not too bad, but I know other brands have similar items for less or about the same price. Neutrogena has always been a trusted brand that’s popular worldwide, so it’s priced accordingly in my opinion. Product packaging is the common facial cleanser or scrub squeeze tube container with a flip top plastic cap. The front text reads “penetrates to eliminate most blackheads and helps prevent new ones”, “gently exfoliates” and “salicylic acid acne treatment”. The back of the container reads the following:

“Clears blackheads and helps prevent new ones to give you clear, smooth skin. Its powerful combination of blackhead-fighting medicine and microbeads works together to clean pores and help keep them free of blackheads:

  • Salicylic acid penetrates into pores to remove blackhead-causing dirt and oil.
  • Gentle exfoliating beads sweep away dead skin cells.
  • Skin soothing beads deliver conditioners to help prevent skin from overdrying.”

Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub

Verdict? I like it, but it will stay at the bottom of my short list of facial scrubs. Even though I’m on the search for a good one, I regularly rotate through several just so my skin won’t get used to just one scrub. I do that with my shampoo as well. It smells good and I like the microbeads for scrubbing. Note that some may find this facial scrub too abrasive for daily use. I used it almost daily and it didn’t bother me. It cleans well and leaves my face refreshed. However, there is nothing more than just the brand name that stands out for me with this product. My hunt will continue, but I definitely see myself revisiting this particular item in the future just because I do like it overall.

Curtain Call: Neutrogena Daily Control 2 in 1 Dandruff Shampoo Plus Conditioner

Today’s Curtain Call feature is something I’ve used more in the warmer months rather than winter. But the container is now empty and I’m here to tell its tale from my perspective. Here’s Neutrogena Daily Control Dandruff Shampoo Plus Conditioner.

At 8.5 fl oz / 250 ml, this retails for $7.19 at CVS and is similarly priced at various retail and drugstores. It goes on sale for ECB deals for Neutrogena products from time to time and combined with coupons from your weekly Sunday paper or through tearpads in the store, this can essentially be really cheap. The packaging is the standard plastic shampoo bottles with a flip open cap that most brands have. The front of the packaging indicates that it’s “clinically proven dandruff protection that’s extra gentle on hair” and having the following points:

  • fast acting
  • vitamin E
  • fresh scent
  • safe on color-treated hair

It also boasts that it’s “#1 Dermatologist Recommended Brand” and that it contains “1% Pyrithione Zinc”.

The back of the bottle states the following:

“Neutrogena T/Gel Daily Control starts working immediately to give you fast, effective dandruff relief. Three conditioning agents promote healthy-looking, soft, manageable hair.”

Neutrogena Daily Control 2 in 1 Dandruff Shampoo Plus Conditioner

Verdict? If you’ve tried the original Neutrogena T/Gel and find it too dry for your hair, this is a great alternative. It’s a more toned down version. It also smells much better, just like a regular shampoo scent. I have used the original Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo to control my oily scalp and it works really well, but after a while I find it too drying for my hair and at the same time switching back to regular shampoo didn’t help. This product is what I use in between for that. I just wet my hair, lather and rinse. I used it daily at first to wean myself off the original Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo and then alternated it with regular shampoo until my scalp behaves nicely with regular shampoo. Please note that I initially used this product to help with the transition from the original Neutrogena T/Gel to a regular brand shampoo. It eventually evolved to me using it when my scalp starts acting up again unless my scalp acts up really bad from the start (then enter the original Neutrogena T/Gel). It does work effectively in getting rid of dandruff in just about one use.

Curtain Call: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

Make no mistake with the name of this product. It does say “Acne Wash” but underneath that says “redness soothing gentle scrub”. I classify this one as a facial scrub then. Another product has reached the end of its life under my use. How did it fare? Read on to find out. Here’s Neutorgena Oil-Free Acne Wash.

At 4.2 fl oz / 124 ml, this retails for $7.99 at CVS and is similarly priced at various retail and drugstores. It goes on sale for ECB deals from time to time and combined with coupons from your weekly Sunday paper or through tearpads in the store, this can get very cheap. The whole tube lasted me for about 3 months for daily usage in the morning and at night. To use, I just wet my face and squeeze a small amount on my palm to apply it on my face in a massaging motion. I wash it off and dry my face with a towel in a patting motion. The front text reads “clears breakouts & reduces redness”. Also spotted are “naturally soothing aloe and chamomile” and “salicylic acid acne treatment”. The back of the tube states the following:

“With naturally soothing aloe and chamomile, this gentle scrub powerfully clears away breakouts and blackheads without over-drying and visibly reduces redness caused by acne. Unique formula calms irritation, while gentle microbeads smooth away roughness. Skin looks and feels clearer, smoother and healthier.

Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week after use.”

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash

Verdict? It works as expected from a facial scrub. Maybe a little bit gentler than the typical facial scrub, but not by much really. Definitely no complaints in that area for me though. My face feels soft and fresh after a good exfoliating session when using it. I didn’t find it too harsh for my face or drying, but your experience may differ from mine based on skin type and basic differences in how our bodies respond to things. As mentioned in previous blog entries for facial scrubs, if your skin is on the sensitive side then this probably is not the ideal facial cleanser to use daily. But for me, this works well and onto my list of facial scrubs and cleansers it goes. The only negative I see with this product is that it is a bit pricier than that of other brands. Is it because of the product claims? I couldn’t tell if this product does clear away breakouts and blackheads (since I only have a little bit of blackheads really), but it definitely doesn’t dry out my skin after use.

Curtain Call: Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Foaming Scrub

Here is another segment of Curtain Call, where I have reached the end of the life of a product. Today’s Curtain Call focuses on Neutrogena’s Deep Clean Invigorating Foaming Scrub. Neutrogena is a very well-known brand worldwide. They are known to have quality products that deliver. So, did this one live up to its claims?

The description on the front of the 4.2 fl oz / 125 ml tube reads “energizing microbeads” and “cool tingly lather”. The packaging is what is expected from facial cleansers and scrubs in general. One thing that did catch my eye about the packaging is the color scheme used. I like it. It’s very attractive for me. The back of the tube states the following:

“Enliven your senses with Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Foaming Scrub. It deep cleans and leaves you feeling amazingly refreshed and exhilarated. Energizing microbeads gently exfoliate skin while sweeping away dead skin cells. Light gel formula lathers into bubbly foam removing surface dirt, oil and make-up. Feel the surge of invigoration as the cooling gel cleans down to powers leaving skin feeling fresh, clean and energized.”

Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Foaming Scrub

Verdict? Will buy again! I change up my facial scrubs after each tube and I will gladly include this in the rotation. It does give that tingly feeling when using it and I can feel the microbeads working it as I gently scrub my face. A little goes a long way with this product. The whole tube lasted me for a good 2 months at the very least. It leaves that tingly, mint fresh feeling on my face when I’m done. I absolutely love it.

This product can easily be purchased in various retail and drugstores such as Walmart, Target, ULTA, CVS, and Walgreens. It is also available online at various websites that carry beauty and personal care products.
