Deborah Lippmann Romantic Rapture Collection

INTRODUCING SPRING 2013 COLOR COLLECTION: ROMANTIC RAPTURE

Revel in the breath-taking rhapsody of Spring 2013! Introducing two brand new lipsticks and three new nail lacquers, the Deborah Lippmann Spring 2013 Color Collection offers a variety of bold and subtle hues that are romantically feminine.

Expanding her lipstick collection, Deborah Lippmann is launching two bright shades that give the collection a sexy punch. The formula is a unique hybrid, offering the rich, creamy texture of a lipstick and the sheer, high-shine finish of a lip gloss. She Bangs is a ravishing red that makes a bold lip statement. Call Me Maybe is a sheer cheeky coral that will be as popular as the song it was named after. They are universal yet vibrant and playful shades that are the perfect complement to any spring wardrobe. “These are two very wearable lip colors that are fun, happy and will make you look and feel beautiful,” says Deborah. “Just apply and go – if you don’t have time for anything else. A great lip shade will make you look put together and sophisticated.” she adds.

The collection also introduces Moon Rendezvous, a faded slate blue shimmer, Careless Whisper, a scintillating nude shimmer and Groove Is In The Heart, a flamingo pink crème. Deborah’s nail lacquers never cease to impress with modern, sophisticated and easily wearable hues for all ages.

Deborah Lippmann Icing On The Cake

Here’s an oldie from Deborah Lippmann. I won this in a set from an eBay auction almost a year ago. I didn’t get around to using this at all until now. I swatched it to see if it’s a frosty shade I can live with. Here’s Deborah Lippmann Icing On The Cake.

Deborah Lippmann Icing On The Cake

Icing On The Cake is a frost that behaved relatively well. It still shows too much brush strokes for me to control, so I’m passing it on to a good friend of mine. I asked her first if she has it and if she’d love to have it in case she didn’t. I warned her too it’s a frost, but she said she’ll be more than happy to take it. :) It’s a very pale, pretty pink frost. Formula is pretty decent. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

As much as I love owning old Deborah Lippmanns, this one is leaving my collection (but to a better home with lots of love!). A reader mentioned that this is a perfect shade for a wedding mani and the same exact thought crossed my mind when I had it on!

Deborah Lippmann Resort Shades Collection

Some of you have seen swatches of these already, but here’s the press release anyway. One word to summarize how I feel about these 2? Pretty.

NEW RESORT SHADES – SPRING 2012

I found inspiration for my Spring 2012 lacquers from the beach this season! I wanted to create something that felt like a vacation no matter where you are; whether you’re away or just dreaming of it. The vibrant blue and shimmering green shades evoke a peaceful, relaxing feel that reminds me of being seaside. To me, these colors express that easy, breezy and carefree feeling you would have on vacation, which I’m hoping you’ll channel every time you look at your nails.

I wanted to evolve from my signature glitters and develop something that was more universal and glamorous with a satin-like finish. The combination of shimmer and pearl used in Mermaid’s Dream is the perfect evolution, and the result is wearable and unique.

Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream

On The Beach is the French Riviera in a bottle. Even if you can’t get there physically, you will be reminded of beautiful bodies of water when you look down at your nails or toes.

Deborah Lippmann On The Beach

When I began the creative process I wasn’t focusing on wearing the colors together, however, they can be mixed and matched. Whether you wear one shade on your nails, the other on your toes, or use Mermaid’s Dream on one nail and use On The Beach on the other four, the creative options are endless. They can be worn any way you want, so just have fun with it and let the color suit your mood.

Best,
Deborah

Deborah Lippmann 2011 HSN Holiday Exclusive: Deck The Halls Set

You think Deborah Lippmann is done for the Holidays with what’s been released? Feast your eyes on these!

A note from Deborah Lippmann:

This season I’m absolutely thrilled to have created an HSN holiday exclusive set, Deck The Halls, launching in November. This trio of nail lacquer includes red and iridescent shades named after my favorite holiday songs, O Holy Night, Angels and Deck The Halls and is paired with my holiday CD so you can enjoy these classics all winter long.

Deborah Lippmann 2011 HSN Holiday Exclusive: Deck The Halls Set with CD

Deborah Lippmann 2011 HSN Holiday Exclusive: Deck The Halls Set (close-up)

Christmas is my favorite time of year; it’s all about family, love and light, and reflecting on the things that are most important to you! I’ve always loved the holidays, and for the last 40 years, have gone caroling every Christmas Eve with my dear friend and music producer, Darrell Brown. We grew up together in Arizona and would visit the fire house, the attorney general, soup kitchens, trailer parks, and our friends’ homes. It seemed only right that my caroling right-hand man would produce this album for me.

What also makes these songs so special is that each song is sung acapella, think Deborah Lippmann goes Glee! I hope you enjoy the colors, the music and I wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season!

You can also hear my rendition of Deck The Halls on HSN’s “Thanksgifting” promotions, airing throughout the season beginning on November 16, 2011 on HSN and other cable networks.

Best,
Deborah

Deborah Lippmann Brick House

This shade is not one I enjoyed photographing at all. It gave me quite a few problems and these are the best shots I’ve gotten from it until I retake it at a later date. Part of Deborah Lippmann’s Fall 2011 Shades, here is Brick House.

Deborah Lippmann Brick House

Brick House is a burnished copper shade that is sure to bring a nice shimmer that’s very fitting for Fall. It’s rich and rustic, reminding me of how the leaves change in Fall. Formula is a little bit thin, but gave me no problems during application and dried pretty fast. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Deborah Lippmann Brick House (in shade)

This was the only one that really caught my eye from her Fall offerings. Have you gotten any shades from her Fall shades?

Deborah Lippmann Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?

Among the 6 shades from the Deborah Lippmann Holiday 2011 Collection, the 2 I was most excited about are Do Ya Think I’m Sexy? and Stairway To Heaven. I only have one of her Holiday 2011 shades and was fortunate enough that it’s one of the 2 I liked most. Here’s Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?

Deborah Lippmann Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?

Do Ya Think I’m Sexy? is made up of her signature hex glitter in red in a clear base. This shade was originally dubbed as “Jessica Rabbit” and is later renamed. Here’s the back story behind this shade:

“I did my one woman show at the famous NYC Feinsteins earlier this year and I wore a ‘couture’ red sequin Jessica Rabbit gown. Since I can’t wear that dress daily I decided to create a color we could all wear all holiday long. We even used the shade in the hottest fall runway show Rodarte. Talk about feeling sexy when you are wearing nail color!”

Formula is typical of her glitter shades. I usually apply thicker coats for glitter shades with a clear base. Shown is 2 generous coats with no top coat.

Deborah Lippmann Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? (direct sunlight)

Deborah Lippmann Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? (close-up)

Deborah Lippmann Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? (last shot)

The shots where the glitter seems to give off an orange-y glow are the ones I like best. Most of the time, it looks like the other shots. It’s basically common red glitter, but much larger and in a hexagon shape. It’s definitely dazzling and will catch people’s eye when they’re on your nails. Removal is what’s expected out of a glitter shade.

This shade should be available on Deborah Lippmann’s website and at other retailers such as Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom. I was told that it should hit the shelves around late October, but I’ve heard some were able to get them already as they pre-ordered them with a department store.

According to my source, these hit shelves in late October. For the record, I love them all. 4 out of 6 of these shades are already available online.

Kitty Meets….

This is the first of (I hope) many series on fellow bloggers that I have met in person. Popping my “meeting a fellow nail blogger” cherry is Polish Police.

As many of you know, I have just recently returned from my 3 week visit to my family in the Philippines. While it felt short, it was just enough time for me to actually enjoy being back at work (which is good thing). My blog’s first year mark hit when I was in the air, traveling back to the US. I wanted to do a giveaway for it and all, but I was strapped for time to plan for it. But it’s okay. After all, I had this delight when I was there during my stay….

Philippines Flavored Ice Cream

….and of course I had so many more other yummy things. That’s ice cream in 3 different flavors. My parents got a tub when we went to the grocery store some time during the first few days that I was there. The purple one is Ube, the pink one is Strawberry and the yellow one is Cheese. Haha, yes! You read that right! Cheese! There was a 4th flavor in the tub, Rocky Road, but it was gone by the time I took this shot. My favorite is Ube. It’s Purple Yam and it’s so damn good. I consume it alone or with coconut meat. *drool*

Aside from missing treats such as these there, I miss a fellow nail blogger and someone I’m proud to say I’ve become good friends with: Pam of Polish Police (or known as @turbochicken on Twitter). You can read her blog entry on our meeting here. Let me tell you, she is the ultimate shopping partner for nail polish in the Philippines. I will not recount what happened blow-by-blow since you can read it on her blog entry, but let’s just say we hit all the nail polish brand stores I wanted to see in a span of 2 hours.

And of course, we swapped some. :) The pictures aren’t the best when using flash, but here are the goodies she got me.

Etude House

The Face Shop

Tony Moly

Deborah Lippmann, Majolica Majorca & OPI

And I shopped more of course. Who knew that there were lots of Asian brand cosmetics in the Philippines?! I didn’t take pictures of those, but the lovely ladies I chat with on Twitter were impressed when I told them I lugged back about 200 bottles of nail polish. I was so nervous they’d be confiscated cause of some technicality or what not. They all made it safe though (no casualties!) and these beauties shown above were part of the close to 200 that I lugged back. In case you were wondering how I packed them, here’s what I did:

1) Grab a gallon sized clear resealable plastic bag. The thicker the plastic bag, the better.
2) Cut out a cardboard to the size close to the gallon sized plastic bag. I determined the size by stuffing a layer of polish in it first and seeing what width it should be. Length should not reach the resealable end, since you will need room for it to close properly and comfortably without the cardboard getting in the way.
3) Cut out smaller pieces of cardboard to act as a divider between glass surfaces that touch next to each other. Note that I am packing my polishes in one flat layer, kind of like how the pictures above this post of my swap are shown. This way, TSA and any other parties that need to inspect my luggage can see clearly the contents of the plastic bag.
4) Cut out long and thin pieces of cardboard about the size of the polish base to prevent glass bottoms from touching those in the next row.
5) Keep filling the plastic bag with polishes row by row until it is almost full. If there is enough room left for a polish to be placed horizontally, do it. This will make sure that the contents of the resealable plastic bag won’t move around.
6) Seal tightly. I also put a piece of clear tape over the bag and wrote “nail polish” on it. Just for my own peace of mind. :)
7) I packed them in between layers of towels and clothing. Make sure that there is enough in that piece of luggage prevent anything from moving around.

I will be featuring different brands and shades of polishes in the next few weeks. Some are from the swap I did and some are those that I have purchased when I met my fellow nail blogger and friend. She is one of the sweetest person I have ever met and I can’t wait to go back again and see her. We talked for hours over Filipino food during lunch and there were no awkward moments in our conversations at all! I am so glad that I have met her in my lifetime. I truly mean that. :)

I hope you guys stick around to see what these and the other polishes look like and fare!

Deborah Lippmann Fall 2011 Shades

Here’s 2 sets of press releases with regards to Deborah Lippmann’s Fall offering this year.

WARM UP WITH DEBORAH LIPPMANN’S FALL 2011 SHADES

I have worked directly with some of the world’s top fashion designers on everything from ad campaigns to fashion shows. When I set out to select nail looks for the fall 2011 collections, I noticed a common theme among all of my collaborators: warmth. The clothes featured vivid, lush earth tones—think lush greens, rich reds and intense golds.

I wanted to capture a similar heat and earthiness in the accompanying polishes, but with an added punch. BILLIONAIRE, a moody hunter green, BRICK HOUSE, a shimmering rust, and SINGLE LADIES, a flirtatious red, all have warm undertones, which give them a beautiful intensity, but also have a jewel-like quality so they really make nails pop.

SHOW WORTHY

Deborah Lippmann’s new shade, STORMY WEATHER, is a collaboration with fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez.

Deboarh Lippmann Stormy Weather

Usually Narciso requests a nude nail to complement his minimalist designs, but for fall 2011 around he wanted something bolder—a color with strength and edge to offset both his collection and the softness of the hair and makeup. For the perfect custom finish, I mixed (and mixed) a new shade by hand in just 24 hours. The final product: an edgy granite that emanated power and intensity. The models who walked the show (and who rarely, if ever, comment on the nail color) gushed over the shade. And so STORMY WEATHER was born an edgy granite (crème) for a strong fall statement.

WHERE TO FIND IT: Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and online at www.deborahlippmann.com

Which one of these are you looking forward to? For me, it’s surprisingly Stormy Weather. I’m not a huge gray fan. I love colors a lot, but there’s something about this one that caught my eye.

OPI Blue Shatters Swatches

Here are swatches from the blue shatters released by OPI. There are 3 of them, 2 shimmers and one creme. They came with a little instructional tag with 3 easy steps outlined. The steps are basically the same as any crackle or shatter polish out there right now. I’m not sure if this trend is dying just yet. I see more brands coming out with it as each day goes by.

First up is Blue Shatter.

OPI Blue Shatter

Blue Shatter is a bright royal blue shatter that I layered over Deborah Lippmann’s My Old Flame, which is a red creme shade. I didn’t expect a lot from this shade from the press release other than it gives me more variety in terms of color. I thought it was nice and that’s about it. It blew me away when it went on my nails. It’s a very nice royal blue shimmer. Formula was of the right consistency and the layer of shatter polish spread evenly onto my nails. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

OPI Blue Shatter (in shade)

OPI Blue Shatter (direct sunlight)

OPI Blue Shatter (close-up)

OPI Blue Shatter (lighting changed)

Next is Navy Shatter.

OPI Navy Shatter

Navy Shatter is the creme shade among the 3 shatters. It’s a really dark shade. So dark that when I layered it over the same red shade I used with the other 2, it looked black (photo of this at the end of this entry). I thought at first my bottle was labeled wrong and it was Black Shatter, but I see that it’s a dark jelly shade in the bottle. That’s when I decided to layer it over a much lighter shade instead, white. Formula was just about the same as the 2 other shades and it went onto my nails with no problem. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

OPI Navy Shatter (in shade)

OPI Navy Shatter (direct sunlight)

OPI Navy Shatter (close-up)

Last shade up is my personal favorite among all shatters released by OPI so far, Turquoise Shatter.

OPI Turquoise Shatter

Turquoise Shatter is simply stunning. It’s so vibrant that I instantly fell in love. It went onto my nails smoothly over the same red shade I used with Blue Shatter, Deborah Lippmann’s My Old Flame. Shown is one coat with no top coat.

OPI Turquoise Shatter (in shade)

OPI Turquoise Shatter (direct sunlight)

And here’s the comparison picture that I took before swatching them all individually. Left is Turquoise Shatter, middle is Blue Shatter and right is Navy Shatter. All are over 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann’s My Old Flame with no top coat.

Deborah Lippmann Get This Party Started Swatches

Deborah Lippmann’s Holiday offering includes a very well-known crowd favorite, Happy Birthday, and 2 variations of that said shade, Candy Shop and Forget You. All 3 are glitter shades with the same hexagon-shaped glitters, only with different bases. I have swatches up for you guys, but I’ll probably reswatch some of them in the future and also over other shades.

Deborah Lippmann Get This Party Started

Happy Birthday ~ a party in the bottle (glitter)
Candy Shop ~ bubblegum pink (glitter)
Forget You ~ party all night (glitter)

First up is Happy Birthday.

Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday

Oh, hello there! Happy Birthday is described on the website as “a party in the bottle” and is Deborah Lippmann’s best-selling shade. This is a glitter shade in a clear base. The multicolored glitter is simply crazy and amazing at the same time. Totally right up my alley! Formula was a bit gloopy, but I think it’s made that way to “hold onto” the glitter more in a manner of speaking. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday (in shade)

Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday (direct sunlight)

Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday (close-up)

Next shade in this set is Candy Shop.

Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop

Candy Shop is what I will describe as what one of my co-worker guy friend J said about a splatter mani I did for another co-worker friend: “It looked like a rainbow peed on your nails.” It’s not a bad thing really, but it’s very colorful and somehow the pink base in this shade makes the difference. The color scheme does make the name of this shade fit quite well. It’s pink, it’s colorful, it’s bright, and it makes me think of candy. Formula is a bit on the gloopy side as well, but it didn’t make application difficult. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop (in shade)

Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop (lighting changed)

Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop (direct sunlight)

Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop (close-up)

Last one is what I was looking forward to the most, Forget You.

Deborah Lippmann Forget You

This one looked very promising in the bottle, but it fell a bit short once it’s on my nails. It looks good, but not as good as Happy Birthday. The black base in this shade seems to be the same jelly-ish type as with her other glitter shades, such as Across The Universe. If you want to save the trouble of having multiple layers with this shade, use a black base underneath. I really detest my swatches of this shade. The multicolored glitter looks “forced” on some spots of my nails. I think using only one layer of this shade would alleviate this look. I think I’ll retake these at a later date. Application was a little trickier than the other 2 shades, but not terrible. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Deborah Lippmann Forget You (in shade)

Deborah Lippmann Forget You (direct sunlight)

Deborah Lippmann Forget You (close-up)

This set will available on Deborah Lippmann’s website and at other retailers such as Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom. I believe the release date is July 1, 2011, but this is probably the release date for just Nordstrom. I imagine that eventually there will be the option to purchase these shades separately as with the shades in the All That Jazz set.

Deborah Lippmann Get This Party Started Set

Here is a press release on one of Deborah Lippmann’s latest offering.

EDIT: Swatches here.

Just in time for the holiday season,
Deborah Lippmann Gets the Party started

Nothing says ‘Party’ like the magnetic sparkle of glitter. So for the biggest party season of the year, I’ve created shades that truly dazzle. Get This Party Started, a set of three glitters, was inspired by the overwhelming demand for my best selling Happy  Birthday, a glittery party in a bottle. The set includes Happy Birthday, along with two new variations of the sparkling shade: Forget You and Candy Shop. They’re both packed with the same unique hexagon-shaped glitter that gives Happy Birthday its magnificent glint, only Forget You has a sheer black base and Candy Shop a bubblegum pink.

I love how festive all three look and feel, whether wrapped a round a champagne glass or peeping out of a glamorous pump. But what I truly love the most: how a few coats of any shade instantly transform you into the life of the party.

CANDY SHOP: bubblegum pink (glitter)
FORGET YOU: party all night (glitter)

Deborah Lippmann Lara’s Theme

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you know that one of my favorite brand of nail polish is Deborah Lippmann. At a higher price point, I have gotten some from some online e-tailers such as Apothica or BeautyBar with some gift certificates given to me. :) Today is a shade that’s perfect for summer. Here is Lara’s Theme.

Deborah Lippmann Lara's Theme

What a creamy, bright orange! I love it! I don’t have any bright oranges like this in my collection, so I definitely welcome this with open arms. Created in collaboration with supermodel Lara Stone, this shade is described as a “double Dutch orange” on the Deborah Lippmann website. Formula for this is ridiculously creamy. Application was smooth and it dries pretty fast. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Deborah Lippmann Waking Up In Vegas

Known to create luscious shades, Deborah Lippmann has offered us a variety of colors ranging from classic reds to delicate sheers to multicolored glitters. One of the most talked about shades from Deborah Lippmann last year is Waking Up In Vegas.

Deborah Lippmann Waking Up In Vegas

This hot shade was sported by Lady Gaga on the cover of Vanity Fair. This one’s a pale cool-toned gray that makes me think of putty. It’s very pigmented and doesn’t dry shiny (you’ll see in the swatch pictures), so you might want to use a top coat with it if you prefer it that way. It went on smoothly onto my nails during application and dries relatively fast for a creme shade. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Deborah Lippmann It’s Raining Men

I can’t help it. Every time I put on this shade I keep hearing that song play in my head over and over again. But what better shade to remind of that iconic song than this beauty from Deborah Lippmann? Here’s It’s Raining Men.

Deborah Lippmann It's Raining Men

It’s beautiful, bright, sexy, and bold. All of that mirrors the description of this shade “timeless Parisian red” on the Deborah Lippmann website. It’s a classic red creme that suits summer well. This cherry red shade is almost a one coater! I used 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Deborah Lippmann Hit Me With Your Best Shot

I have expressed before my love for Deborah Lippmann polishes. I am not a huge fan of the gunmetal shade, but I thought what the heck. I’ll try this one from Deborah Lippmann. Created with Pat Benatar, here is Hit Me With Your Best Shot.

Deborah Lippmann Hit Me With Your Best Shot

Described as “glistening gun metal”, this is a beautiful dark shade that shimmers on the nails especially under sunlight. The formula for this is silky smooth. It dries pretty fast too. Shown is 2 thin coats with no top coat.

Lady Is A Tramp is described on their website as a “classic sanguine red” and here are swatches of this Deborah Lippmann beauty.

Mmmmm…….yummy. Need I say more? This is a very pretty red creme. It looks almost jelly-ish here with only 2 coats and no top coat. See how shiny it is already without a top coat? Drying time was pretty fast for a creme. I absolutely adore this shade. It’s not my favorite red creme from Deborah Lippmann, but it’s in my top 3. In case you haven’t noticed, Deborah Lippmann has released a lot of red cremes.

Deborah Lippmann Summer 2011

So excited about these shades! Hopefully, I’ll have some of these to swatch for you guys later on. Some swatches are floating online already. Here’s the press release.

EDIT: Lara’s Theme swatch here.

Deborah Lippmann Summer 2011

What it is: Add a pop of colors to your nails this spring and summer with the hottest most fashionable shades from Deborah Lippmann!

From Left to right: Girls Just Want To Have Fun, I Know What Boys Like, Yellow Brick Road, Lara’s Theme

Girls Just Want To Have Fun – A smooth, vintage coral that everyone can wear because it’s bold yet velvety – a sort of carefree, creamy coral.

Deborah Lippmann Girls Just Want To Have Fun

I Know What Boys Like – A creamy periwinkle that credits to both the 80’s and my clients. Several of my clients have asked for interesting blues. This one is a blend of blue and purple with a creamy finish, which gives it a slightly retro look that is so playful and hip.

Deborah Lippmann I Know What Boys Like

Yellow Brick Road, a sheer mellow yellow with a jelly finish. The proof that it wears beautifully on all skin tones: it complements me and Lady GaGa, who wore it first for her “Born This Way” performance at the 2011 Grammy Awards.

Lara’s Theme was created with supermodel Lara Stone is Deborah Lippmann’s newest celebrity collaboration. It’s a dare to wear shade of hot-hot orange.

GingerKittyDesigns Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe Ring

Today is my birthday. I am officially 29! Part of my birthday treat to myself is something I bought not too long ago. I’m not even going to go on and write all about it. The pictures say it all. Here is my Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe ring made by Tracey of GingerKittyDesigns.

Wow, that’s all I can say. You probably figured by now what this is and what GingerKittyDesigns do. Nail polish and jewelry = LOVE! You can check out her store and see if there’s anything you like or even have something custom-made from a list of shades she has, which is what I did. If she doesn’t have something you want, she has the option of having you send in a little bit of the polish you want to her. There are pendants, rings, bracelets, bobby pins….it’s a magical store! Prices are very reasonable too! So…..Happy Birthday to me! :)

Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Deborah Lippmann polishes. Heck, I even broke down and purchased some at BeautyBar.com and even though the shipping was 2 days….I almost died of anticipation. Yes, I love her nail lacquers that much. It’s no surprise then that this stunning glitter shade is, so far, my all-time favorite from Deborah Lippmann. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Across The Universe.

Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe

W-O-W. Need I say more? Across The Universe is a beautiful glitter shade that is sure to blow your mind. I thought maybe a red glitter shade would be my favorite, but nope…this one is. This shade has light blue and green hexagon glitters mixed with small square blue glitters suspended in a blackened blue jelly base. Absolutely stunning. Formula is a dream to apply with for glitter shades. I did not even have to attempt to fish any of the hex glitters out! Because the base is a bit on the sheer side, 2 coats would be insufficient. Shown is 3 thin coats with no top coat.

Deborah Lippmann releases new shades every so often. I am so excited to see what the new shades are each season and hope that one day they can top this one. That would be amazing.

Deborah Lippmann I Dreamed You

Shades I own from Deborah Lippmann have never disappointed me. They are luxurious and stunning, as well as trendy and fashionable. I was skeptical with her lighter shades. I often thought of them as work safe shades and nothing more than that. I was wrong. Here is Deborah Lippmann’s I Dreamed You.

Deborah Lippmann I Dreamed You

Mmm….it’s such a pretty light pink shade with shimmer that is absolutely ethereal. It is described as “starry opalescent pink” and I say that is pretty much spot on. It is pretty, it is feminine and it is not just another boring shade. I….LOVE it! I tend to stay away from very light shades because they usually don’t appeal to me. This one’s just like that…..until it’s on my nails of course! Formula is a bit on the watery side, not watery enough to flood your cuticles though. Drying time is speedy in between coats. Shown is 2 thin coat with no top coat.

You can still see my nail line in the pictures, as I stopped at 2 thin coats. I generally like to stay with 2 coats and don’t mind the VNL as much as others do. Having thicker and increased number of coats will make it more opaque if that’s the look you wish to achieve.

This is the very same shade that Deborah Lippmann applied onto Anne Hathaway’s nails at the Golden Globe Awards last month. She looked simply stunning on the red carpet in a pink Armani Prive gown that is embellished with tons of glittering goodness. Her nails looked perfect with her outfit.
