Curtain Call: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

Hey guys! Hope you’re all having a great week so far! Today’s post is on a product I got from my ipsy May 2018 Glam Bag. Here’s my thoughts on the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum

Stated from their website:

A universal serum that gives skin its daily dose of moisture for soft, smooth, youthful-looking skin. Formulated for all skin types, this hydrating gel instantly infuses skin with essential hydration to help plump and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

This water-based gel absorbs immediately into the skin leaving behind an invisible shield that helps to seal in hydration. Its lightweight texture makes it perfect for layering under your favorite A.M. and P.M. moisturizers. Hyaluronic Acid—a moisture-locking agent—helps hydrate, plump and nourish. Anti-aging Peptides help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while Collagen helps skin appear more plump and replenished with an improved-looking texture. Colloidal Oatmeal, along with Aloe Leaf Juice, help calm and soothe irritated skin for an all over healthy-looking and feeling complexion.

What I love about this product? The product itself is a clear and transparent in appearance like a gel. It has the looks of being hydrating. I use a small amount of this and patted it gently all over my face with my fingertips. I use this in the facial serum step of the Korean 10-step skin routine I’ve been doing for months now. It absorbs pretty quickly into my skin and while there is a scent to it that’s not too light, it dissipates pretty quickly so it doesn’t bother me at all. It feels to be quite moisturizing. I’ve used this product for over a month and it does the job of a facial serum I would say. Simply put, it works well.

What I don’t like about this product? While I’m not too impressed with this brand’s other products, this is the best product they have that I’ve tried so far. I would consider buying this the next time I’m shopping for a facial serum.

ipsy May 2018 Glam Bag

A little late but better late than never! As I mentioned before I’ve been busy the last 2 months. There was a lot of celebrations and I also made a trip back to Philly to see my cousins and their families. I stayed there for almost a week and it was a blast! My eldest cousin also gave me a bunch of barely worn and new clothes so I’m set. I won’t have to shop for clothes for a long time (she did that the last time I visited too). Anyway, here’s what I got in my ipsy May 2018 Glam Bag.

Now, this bag speaks to me a lot! I’m a snail mailer and this is perfect to hold some of my snail mail items on the go. 🙂 First item that caught my eye is the Grace & Stella Co. Dead Sea Mud Mask. I love, LOVE, L-O-V-E mud masks and I’m very excited to try this soon! Next item that caught my eye is the Lord & Berry 20100 Maximatte Crayon Lipstick. The shade I got this in is Intimacy. Others got the shade called Spicy. Then we have the Nelson j Beverly Hills Moisture Healing Mask. I’ve been using the Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner and Dove Hair Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Detangler on my hair faithfully for the past few months (for every few days) that I’m ready for a change. Next we have the tre’StiQue Mini Matte Blur Stick. I find this item very interesting and it’s supposed to minimize the appearance of pores so I’m trying it out soon. Last up is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum. I’ve used products from this brand before and they’ve ranged from being okay to good. I’m hoping for better things with this one.

So not bad at all still! I hope ipsy continues the trend with sending me products that suits my preferences. I’m looking forward to next (this!) month’s bag now!

ipsy December 2017 Glam Bag

5 more days ’til Christmas! I’ve been off since last week and have finished all holiday related shopping so I’m just spending my time catching up on my recorded shows on the Investigation Discovery channel and have just started watching some Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. I was out-of-town for 2 nights at a cabin in Clayton Lake State Park (OK) and it was a beautiful stay. The cabin is right by the lake so it was convenient to go fishing there at night. The cabin we stayed at was far from the other cabins so we didn’t really see anyone else there really. Our dog loved every minute of it. He even took a few dips in the cold lake! Now I’m already starting to research which state park we should go to next! I returned to a few things piling up in the mailbox and this is one of them. Here’s what I got in my ipsy December 2017 Glam Bag.

I would’ve liked the bag more if it was more symmetrical. I don’t know if you can tell but the “height” of the bag on one side is different from the other side. I don’t know if it’s intentional but oh well…it’s still usable. First item that caught my eye is the Smashbox Cosmetics Be Legendary Lipstick. The shade everyone got is called Legendary. It’s a bold red shade that I simply love. Next item that caught my eye is the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser. I’ve actually tried out this product before and have reviewed it here. Then we have the Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL. The only Rodial product I’ve had the pleasure of trying out left me impressed so I’m looking forward to trying this out. I did not know they have a makeup line! Next we have the NIP+FAB Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Serum. I love facial serums so I’m eager to try this one out ASAP! It’s starting to get cold and dry again this weekend where I’m at so this is simply perfect timing to have received this in my glam bag. Last up is NYX Faux Blacks Eyeliner. The shade I got this in is Onyx.

So I was expecting a little bit more wow with the bag itself for Christmas but it’s better than last year’s bag in my opinion — so it’s all good! I think I’ll get to keep most of the items in my glam bag to try for myself, which is pretty rare really so I’m looking forward to it!

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser

The weeks seems to be dragging by slowly. I hope you guys are having a better week than me so far. I’m starting to get back into posting regularly again. Here are my thoughts on the First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser.

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser

What I love about this product? Being that I’m more of a facial scrub kind of gal, this is a refreshing addition to my skincare regimen. My skin was starting to feel dry and a little irritated with facial scrubs as it’s still basically winter (hello, dry skin weather!). Enter this find from an impulse purchase over a year ago during Sephora’s Black Friday sale. It’s a facial cleanser that cleans my skin gently while stripping off everything that is leftover from the day. All the grime, dirt and oil is gone. I use this nightly and find its mildness a welcoming attribute. My skin is left feeling squeaky clean but not dry. I love it.

What I don’t like about this product? I was initially apprehensive of trying this brand out as someone I know on Instagram broke out while using the face moisturizer from this brand. I decided to give it a try out of desperation one night when I knew that using a facial scrub to wash my face would be a very bad idea. It’s a lifesaver!

More information on this item and other products from this brand is available on their website. Products from this brand is also carried by other retailers such as Sephora and ULTA.

ipsy September 2015 Glam Bag

Hey guys! I got this in the mailbox when I was away on a short trip so I was wary about it since it was mildy hot here but everything seems to be okay. Here’s what I got in my ipsy September 2015 Glam Bag.

First off, the bag. I actually love it! I’m very excited since I really liked last month’s bag as well. Before that it was a series of pretty much mehs for me. First item that caught my eye is the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair® Cream. I *think* I have this somewhere stashed from some Thanksgiving sale last year but I never got around to using it. Now I will have a travel sized one to use! This will ensure I actually get to try the product sooner. Next up is Formula X Nail Color. The shade I got is called Ignite. I have too many polishes to go through at the moment so I might just pass this on as a stocking stuffer to one of my nieces later on. Then we have the NYX Cosmetics ipsy Eye Shadow Trio. It looks to be a pretty nice trio and the colors seem like it will work for most eye colors. Next is tre’StiQue Mini Matte Lip Crayon. I have too many lip items so off to the stocking stuffer stash it goes. Last item is the ACURE Argan Oil Cleansing Towelettes. Being that this is unscented, I’m keeping this baby for use when my husband and I go on one of our hikes.

Overall, the products are not bad but I do love the bag more. I was going to cancel but the auto-renewal kicked in and at the moment I’m okay with that. Haha, let’s see if I still feel that way next month (I hope so!).
