Curtain Call: Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub
Hey guys! Here’s another segment of Curtain Call. The product up for review this time is Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub. I’m on a constant search for my holy grail facial scrub. No sure winners yet, but I do have a few close ones on a short list.
At 4.2 fl oz / 125 ml, $6.99 is the going retail for this product. It’s not too bad, but I know other brands have similar items for less or about the same price. Neutrogena has always been a trusted brand that’s popular worldwide, so it’s priced accordingly in my opinion. Product packaging is the common facial cleanser or scrub squeeze tube container with a flip top plastic cap. The front text reads “penetrates to eliminate most blackheads and helps prevent new ones”, “gently exfoliates” and “salicylic acid acne treatment”. The back of the container reads the following:
“Clears blackheads and helps prevent new ones to give you clear, smooth skin. Its powerful combination of blackhead-fighting medicine and microbeads works together to clean pores and help keep them free of blackheads:
- Salicylic acid penetrates into pores to remove blackhead-causing dirt and oil.

Verdict? I like it, but it will stay at the bottom of my short list of facial scrubs. Even though I’m on the search for a good one, I regularly rotate through several just so my skin won’t get used to just one scrub. I do that with my shampoo as well. It smells good and I like the microbeads for scrubbing. Note that some may find this facial scrub too abrasive for daily use. I used it almost daily and it didn’t bother me. It cleans well and leaves my face refreshed. However, there is nothing more than just the brand name that stands out for me with this product. My hunt will continue, but I definitely see myself revisiting this particular item in the future just because I do like it overall.
