Curtain Call: Neutrogena Daily Control 2 in 1 Dandruff Shampoo Plus Conditioner
Today’s Curtain Call feature is something I’ve used more in the warmer months rather than winter. But the container is now empty and I’m here to tell its tale from my perspective. Here’s Neutrogena Daily Control Dandruff Shampoo Plus Conditioner.
At 8.5 fl oz / 250 ml, this retails for $7.19 at CVS and is similarly priced at various retail and drugstores. It goes on sale for ECB deals for Neutrogena products from time to time and combined with coupons from your weekly Sunday paper or through tearpads in the store, this can essentially be really cheap. The packaging is the standard plastic shampoo bottles with a flip open cap that most brands have. The front of the packaging indicates that it’s “clinically proven dandruff protection that’s extra gentle on hair” and having the following points:
- fast acting
- vitamin E
- fresh scent
- safe on color-treated hair
It also boasts that it’s “#1 Dermatologist Recommended Brand” and that it contains “1% Pyrithione Zinc”.
The back of the bottle states the following:
“Neutrogena T/Gel Daily Control starts working immediately to give you fast, effective dandruff relief. Three conditioning agents promote healthy-looking, soft, manageable hair.”

Neutrogena Daily Control 2 in 1 Dandruff Shampoo Plus Conditioner
Verdict? If you’ve tried the original Neutrogena T/Gel and find it too dry for your hair, this is a great alternative. It’s a more toned down version. It also smells much better, just like a regular shampoo scent. I have used the original Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo to control my oily scalp and it works really well, but after a while I find it too drying for my hair and at the same time switching back to regular shampoo didn’t help. This product is what I use in between for that. I just wet my hair, lather and rinse. I used it daily at first to wean myself off the original Neutrogena T/Gel shampoo and then alternated it with regular shampoo until my scalp behaves nicely with regular shampoo. Please note that I initially used this product to help with the transition from the original Neutrogena T/Gel to a regular brand shampoo. It eventually evolved to me using it when my scalp starts acting up again unless my scalp acts up really bad from the start (then enter the original Neutrogena T/Gel). It does work effectively in getting rid of dandruff in just about one use.
This product can easily be purchased in various retail and drugstores such as Walmart, Target, ULTA, CVS, and Walgreens. It is also available online at various websites that carry beauty and personal care products.
