Today I have another brand of nail polish that is new to me. Enter Piggy Paint! Piggy Paint is natural, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and odorless – very kid-friendly! Their formula is water-based and is safe for use during pregnancy. I definitely know there’s at least one brand of nail polish I can use whenever I get pregnant in the future! In their website FAQs, they stated that every ingredient in their nail polish is biodegradable with no traces or residues left behind. To thin their formula, add a drop of water or 2! This is LOL.
LOL is a bright, bold pink creme shade. The finish is so smooth and looks buttery. Formula is easy to apply and although it says it’s odorless, I noticed a certain light smell exists. It’s not the chemical nail polish smell…..more like a glue smell. It’s not as strong as nail polish. The scent doesn’t “travel” like regular nail polishes do (if that makes sense). But since it’s not strong or overpowering and it dries fast, I don’t mind it at all. Drying time takes a little bit longer than regular nail polishes, especially if you’re using 2 or more layers like I do. They suggested to blow dry nails for 1 minute on low after air drying for a minute. This is done for maximum chip resistance. Ultimate hardness is achieved 4-6 hours after application. The length of time is due to their safe formula. Shown is 2 thin layers with no top coat.
This pink is sure to catch attention! This shade is definitely a hit with young girls. Piggy Paint has lots of shades and sets to choose from with different price points. You can check them out at Piggy Paint or look at the list retail locations and online retailers listed where their products are offered here.
I know what my kids (whenever I have them) are starting off when they want to dabble with nail polish. A water-based nail polish definitely would lessen my worries as a mother. The only possible con is the wear. Compared to other brands, the wear is more evident over a shorter period of time. It started to chip on day 3, but I really don’t see it as a bad thing personally. The pros definitely outweigh all the cons.
